There's a definite nod to Dylan in the way he sings this.
I've been singing this song for years, and I've always given myself so much crap for not being able to hit it as cleanly as he does, and now listening to it live, I realize I need to give myself some slack. Even Rufus struggles to nail it live, I need to stop expecting to.
I love this song.
Jeff Lynn only for the song )))
I was spellbound
Beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤❤
❤❤❤
My god, perfect!
my good god.... he's perfect
Sometimes complex compositions are best appreciated with minimal instrumentation as in this case. The beauty of the song and your voice shine much brighter here than in the studio version. Thank you Rufus
You’re taking nigra licence( maybe fagot) with my storyline..it’s bad enough Dylan stole it..
Aweful, this goose needs some singing lessons.
Oh, that voice...
Oh yum. 🥰
❤
Wow
Love him 😊❤
Rufus rules.
Larry Hart's wonderful lyrics
Having earphones on makes his voice so asmr
Listening to this piece makes my heart melted.❤
I love his voice.
but it's getting there...
So beautiful. I appreciate every choice made with this version. Like, if you were going to elevate this song, because it is so important after all, every choice is perfect. To me it is talking about the darkest place we get to in our psyche, short of the worst. It is not talking about what happens before suicide, drug addiction, violence . . . It's not dark yet, and it stays there. Hoping all of you out there are able to stay there too. It's not dark yet, and it doesn't need to get dark. ❤️
Rufus is the sexiest thing that ever lived.
This song reaches deep for me. I feel like I understand exactly what this song is talking about, the place inside ourselves that this song is referencing, that tiny little spark that you have left that you hold on to like a candle in the darkness. I feel like Rufus has been there too or he wouldn't be able to sing it like this. And I feel like Dylan has been there too or he wouldn't have been able to write it. Thank you Rufus for turning the Dylan version into something even more magnificent, two greats are often better than one! You are a Wonder. When you sing it, somehow, it lifts, it provides a floor, puts my feet on it. I can land here if Rufus is singing it! It feels better to be honest that this is what life feels like, many times, rather than to pretend that it doesn't. Life can get hard, it can get mean, often to the people who deserve it least. This song is like armor. Beautiful melancholy. The fact that Dylan left "dark" for each of us to use as we see fit, it makes room for everybody. What a beautiful gesture in a very judgemental world. ❤❤ Two hearts, one for each of you! So glad to be alive with your music in my life.
Maybe Rufus is the best crooner of the modern era! x
You might cringe at this. But those who cringe, take more time. If not this perhaps a different tune. Tap that inner heart. ❤ Love you America. Tap that inner heart.❤️
Beautiful! Beautiful, beautiful
Woahh I never knew Rufus sang this live before. It's one of my favourite songs from the movie, thank you so much for sharing!!!!
Wonderful vibes from Rufus and Dylan's words.
Esta melodía es maravillosa, pero en la voz de este hombre es una caricia al alma... Divino Rufus Wainwright.. ♥
Beautiful! Absolutely beautiful. When I come back in the next life I want this kind of talent… jealous of this magical voice.
Love this. I question his change in the lyrics "I've still got the scars that the sun didn't let me heal". Prefer the original by far. But Rufus is always great by definition.
Wow! Love Rufus!
Amazing voice! Sensational performance 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Love this. So perfect in every way. And I don't like beards but it makes him so handsome.
❤😊
Never heard this before. Wonderful. Thanks
Это одна из лучших песнь Руфуса лучше чем у Шрека.
2023 ❤
Beautifully done! Thank you
Wonderful ❤

His voice brings you back again and again. Just pulls you in and you don't want it to end.
He is my favourite singer. What a voice!
