Curt Trailer Hitch Install [2024 Hyundai Tucson]
In this video I walk through my installation of the Curt Trailer Hitch
Model 13485 on a 2024 Front Wheel Drive Hyundai Tucson SEL.
Tools Recommended:
Torque Wrench at least able to handle 50 ft. lbs.
17mm socket
14mm socket
Ratchet
Flat Head Screwdriver
Material for resting the Hitch if you are installing solo (optional)
I first attempted to install the hitch without removing the plastic trim piece that sits under the bumper....but long story short, it's best to just remove the trim, it's in the way. I can however confirm that you do Not need to remove or unbolt any part of the exhaust or muffler. Plan on taking about one hour for install, assuming you have your tools handy and ready to go.

Again, I'm no professional, and this was purely to show other amateurs and DIY types what you might experience if you also attempt...

Interesting when I got my motor, I filled it with 380 ml of oil as it said to do. It was overfilled by almost 150 ml. My conclusion is that they do put some oil in.

omg! dude! Please remove this vodeo. I hate to bash you, but those rotors should never have been put back on the car. In fact, in many(mayby most) states, they would not pass inspection as those pads are dangerous and inadequate. Thank God they are in the REAR, cause if they were in the FRONT I would not hesatate in predicting you in an accident! If you are watching this video or have watched it, PLEASE search for another video.

I've never understood WHY not fill from the upper, the gear oil level plug? When the oil comes out, you know you're full? Why the procedure to fill from the bottom?? So the gear oil get into all the "nooks and crannies?"

@2:09 If the motor is level the the proper gear oil level is at the bottom of the fill hole.

I also only had to change the rear pads at 80,000km but strangely still got the front at 150,000km. Excuse I heard was the G Vectoring kicks in through rear brakes.

A good trick is to punch a hole in the bottom of the filter to let the oil drain out, makes less mess. The Mazda 6 that has a cartridge filter has a bolt on the plastic filter housing for this reason.

Do NOT rotate the pistons on the EPB cars! Push the piston straight in and make sure the markers are lined u.p perfectly. Rotating the pistons can DAMAGE the EPB. I suggest you also lube up all the usual parts (not the braking surface/material obviously but other metal on metal part.

    • @imagineengine
      @imagineengine Місяць тому

Quick ? So if your not supposed to rotate the piston back in on EPB cars then why do some of the caliper piston tools work by rotating? Like the ones with the interchangeable discs they sell. Not doubting your advice just curious. Also so does not rotating also apply to the 2019 Mazda 3 as well? Thanks for any advice you can offer as I'm getting ready to do this job on the wifes car.

The pistons don't retract, so it will be difficult or impossible to have sufficient clearance for the thicker new pads. You "can" manually force the piston to retract, but don't do that, you risk damaging the rubber or worse the piston.
