    I love the lamp! It would be nice if you turned the music down several decibels because it drowns out your voice when you're creating, so I didn't hear 65% of your words.

    Just a thought about the detachable band on the sketchbook, maybe when you take it off put it over just the back cover while you are using the book so you don't lose it like I probably would do. Beautiful haul. Never feel guilty about buying yourself high end art materials. You deserve them.

    You’ll have a much better time using a cotton based watercolour paper that has a decent amount of sizing when using the Ecolines (and any other water-soluble media). Sizing gives you more working time and you’ll have a lot of fun with these tools. 😊

    I loved this relaxing swatching video. Seeing all the beautiful colors along with hearing your calming voice was a great diversion from the craziness of the outside world. I was especially intrigued by the Turner Acrylic Gauche. The dark green, red, and gold reminded me of colors from a Renaissance painting. I look forward to seeing the projects you make with these. And as usual, your little dogs were charming! Nina looked so cozy and made me want to curl up and go to sleep and I’m thinking that Renley must be high-spirited from hearing his scurrying paws in the video. He must want to party, party, party! 🎉🎉🎉

I've been doing art for a very long time but I have imposter syndrome especially with social media filled with such successful artists. Hahnemule got very nice tapes, they don’t tear the paper at all

    • @TheCherrypipangel
      @TheCherrypipangel 9 днів тому

      Thanks for the tip! I have tried the Hahnmuhle tape on the thicker papers (Arches 300gsm, Saunders Waterford 300gsm, Fabriano Artistico 300gsm, Hahnmuhle Britannia 300gsm) and it works very well indeed on these papers. However it also tears up the thinner paper on the Hahnmuhle 250gsm sketchbook and I think this a problem specific to this paper. Still giving different options a try though but having a thicker paper sketchbook now will solve the problem. It’s one of the reasons I purchased all these new sketchbooks so I can move away from the thinner 250gsm paper 😉

    Learning how to paint on Hot Press is quite an experience. I use Hot Press for my detailed botanicals (small amount of water using short strokes with a springy brush that doesn't hold much water) and Cold Press for loose landscapes. I recommend trying Legion Stonehenge Aqua paper. It comes in blocks. I think you will enjoy the Cold Press.

    • @TheCherrypipangel

      Thank you for the advice! Legion Stonehenge has been on my bucket list for months now but I still haven’t found a place selling it that ships to Switzerland! I will definitely pick up a block or 2 when I’m next in the US 👌

    Thank you so much for this review, it helps a lot, I am so glad I watch your review. I am a paper hoarder, but often disappointed with what I got. Glad I watch you before I proceed buying more. I can relate to your “feels like emergency” with paint drying fast on paper! Mine is “panic attack” whenever that happens, and I would rushed and mess everything up….. That’s why acrylic is still terrifying for me, even with slo-dry medium, not helping. Oil paint on the other hand, love them, I can fiddle for days….uh wonderful 😊

    I enjoyed the sketchbook comparisons. I bought my first sketchbooks in March of 2024. They were very cheap books from Michael's-weight 75lbs and not intended for water media. With water restraint, I have used watercolor and gouache successfully. You've given me a lot to think about for future paper purchases.
