Into the World of Chinese Bootleg Dragon Ball Apps
Unofficial knockoff apps of your favorite anime properties including Dragon Ball, One Piece and Naruto aren't new to the North American Apple and Google Play app store, but they're interestingly starting to increase tremendously quality. How are they able to crank these unofficial games out so fast?

In 2008, KDDI and Bandai showed off an exclusive fighting cross-over game called "Dragon Ball x One Piece Super BT Battle", available only to play at Tokyo Game Show. As a limited availability exhibit, this meant that most traces of this game have been lost to time. Was this a precursor to the crossover we'd hey I'm the 3DS Arc System Works games Dragon Ball Z Extreme Butoden and One Piece Grea...

Microtransactions and Gacha games in general should be forbidden by law. People are so stupid...
I only messed with two online games at a time. Because I love them too much. I love gotcha ganes 🤔 action Taimanin & honkai impact 3 are the ones I'm playing now. I played them for 1 -1/2 year. I have 320 hours on action Taimanin & 360 hours on honkai impact 3. You think that's a lot 🤷🏾♀️ but i always had 99:99 hours on all the psone final fantasy games 🤣 the game clock just stopped counting my play time. I really do take my time when i play a game. Unless it's a time event. I'm going to look at all the trees & other bs. I'm going to look at the grass move & junk. I'm not trying to hurry 😳 oh look at that background dog or person moving around. i wonder where his going? I'm going to watch him for a bit 😅
I played a couple of fun bootleg mobile games. One if them was an action arena fighter. It was bloody great. It got pulled down 😢 all my characters & gear got deleted. A similar game got put on the market a week later. But it wasn't the same. The combat was slower 🤔 so i didn't play that one
2:34 it's basically a coaching game. You're the team's manager 🤔 there's a lot of sport games like that. And business games like that too. You're the manager 🤷🏾♀️
Oh man I used to LOVE the old bootleg dbz games cuz in every 300 trash bags there are at least 2 hald decent ones and at most 1 actually good app that's fun for like 3 days beffor you get bored and downlaod an other 300 trash dumps worth of games
The game at 9:15 was actually pretty cool out of the bootlegs I played. Don't get me wrong its still a bootleg that was begging me to waste money at every turn but it had some weirdly crazy quality to it lol
Oh yeah 😅 there's a lot of bad & a couple of good ones
Bruuuhhhhhhhh consider: A bootleg DBZ game where the characters themselves all look like bootleg merch
I love these Dragon Ball Z game apps!
The first time I saw these bootleg DBZ games is that I was trying to search for Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle or Dragon Ball Legends (curse you Toshi) in the app store to see if Bandai has set up a local at my country (Vietnam) before publishing their game and then i get such gems like Z-warrior or some shit like that.
Good video
5:14 This is something I noticed with Saint Seiya in particular As I do remember it having 2 Mobile Games, with the publisher being the biggest in China The one thing that always gives it away its their awful translations in english and somewhat decent spanish ones
The editing in this doesn't look too far off from what someone with 100x the subscribers might do. I like the style! Keep it up!
This guy dont miss
I never thought about looking into this before but this was really interesting. It's surprising that Pokemon knock off still exists considering how quick Nintendo is at shutting things down or suing someone. I've seen a couple of these games and knew that they weren't legit. Something about them seemed off. Also, I gotta acknowledge that they included my favorite character from Dragon Ball, Bruno Holmes.
@@skullking6017 Nintendo does take the Pokemon clones down, even in China. But the source code is open (something even I was able to pull), so it's basically like playing whack a mole.
@@GoldenPSP Oh ok. I misunderstood that part. That makes more sense.
I forgot about pokemon. Yeah I played a couple of bootlegs of that. They got shutdown so fast... I stopped playing them. Leveling up means nothing if it may get shut down at anytime. But it was fun battling other people. I wished pokemon made a game like that. A mmo game & no not pokemon Go 😂 I'm not walking around in the heat & cold
I was in Japan and went to universal at the time in 2017. Dragonball was amazing but The JoJo movie was insane, I remember the water splashing us to stimulate the blood splatter when Dio hit jotaro with the knives... And then remembering there were some really kids in the audience 😂 only in Japan 😂
It's insane to me how the Idle "GAME" thing has gone so far, especially combined with the Gacha model. They're all so obviously nothing, gameplay wise particularly, it's amazing that these companies can make money off them!
@@danpantzig7266 feels like a genre tailor made for bootleg games where you can take a characters that shouldn't legally be together and watch them do cool stuff together.
🤷🏾♀️ it makes people happy. There's something out there for everyone 👍🏾 the lost game I played like that was a RPG. You just tip the screen to action faster. But you spend most of your time putting what gear & spells you want to take with you. Trying to find out what spell & gear can combine off each other. The best perks to bounce off the other abilities you have equipped.
@@jeremyhall2727 I def get the appeal of Make Number Go Bigger, it's what most games these days are based on really.
I used to play a bootleg Yu-Gi-Oh game in browser. It was mediocre and pay-to-win but it was basically old school yu-gi-oh so it had its niche.
It's kinda funny when bootleg/knockoff games are actually pretty fun
hi i noticed in one post of you in X about you extracting models from finalbout cell and piccolo. can you extract adult base goku and ssj vegeta? i want to start a project for a small remake with psx graphics, a 1 vs 1 fighter first goku vs vegeta but i need those models and i dont know how to extract them. thank you
The meme of people incorrectly using Eiji Aonuma as Oda continues, showcasing a lack of thorough research, invalidating absolutely everything said thereafter. Couldn't even make it a minute in LOL
it's not that deep lmao
Mistakes happen and it's definitely a mess up on my side. But definitely go look up Super BT Battle on your own time if you're interested in the crossover ✌️🙂 point of this video is more to put eyes on this obscure title!
What about Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon crossover game?
My first ever DS game. Honestly despite the unfair difficulty, I loved this game. I just wish it wasnt so damn slow. Fights and moving around on the board takes forever.
I actually went to universal japan during the broly 4d movie. It was so fun all the staff where in Turtle hermit gi. And had mini introduction movable posters on the walls of of the z fighters. Before we went in the movie we got a mini movie beforehand from bulma and android 18. Outside there were also frieza in his spacepod cups probably still left over from the first movie
I knew about some of them but not all! It's always fun to find new...old...stuff! That sounded weird, but I hope it made sense. xD
@@Lucas-Fair glad you enjoyed my dude!
Battle Stadium DON's rad
@@mikethetowns Ilike the game, it just has some odd gameplay quirks. It'd be cool if they made a sequel
Smash Ultimate level roster but weeby haha
If I've ever heard about this game demo, I've completely forgotten by now. Dragon Ball led me to the American Shonen Jump and One Piece so these collaborations always made me extremely happy.
Edit: Don't worry guys, I have edited the mistake out 😗 Correction: The guy pictured at 0:54 is not Eiichiro Oda, but rather Eiji Aonuma of Nintendo. 😅 His image frequently gets mistaken for Oda and I am part of the problem now. Apologies for the mistake. 🙏
Dragon Ball Z and Sailor Moon
I like how you used a different guy for odas picture
@@burakkyi lmao this is what I was scared of. Is that not actually Oda 😂😂😂?
@GoldenPSP lol yeah it isn't him, though I don't blame you since other people have been using the guy aka eiji aonuma instead of odas actual picture for some reason
At some point, i wouldn't mind getting into the bleach heat the souls to see if they're good or not.
You should try them out, I'm interested to see what your favorite one is 🤔
I didn't know about a few of these collaborations. Appreciate the insight and lore. 💯
You're totally right. I hadn't heard about this game before. That device that you said you have that you want to make a video about sounds interesting and I'm up to watch the video you make of it. I had no clue they had actual One Piece x Dragon Ball figures and statues type of merch. I'd love a non chibi version of that Goku and Luffy doing the Fusion Dance.
@@skullking6017 If you're interested in the figure it's part of the Dragon Ball x One Piece Dream Fusion line. Also yea this game fell into the perfect storm of obscurity, being a mobile game developed right in the wake of the iPhone gaming revolution. Literally nobody cared enough at TGS to record video on the showcase.
@@GoldenPSP That's good to know thanks! That was a crazy time. I remember my mom got an N-Gage and got Spider-Man 2 for it.
I played the crap out of tournament and mission to namek when I was a kid. Honestly the early CN flash/shockwave games were so good.
I'll never forget when CN introduced Budokai 1 in 2002.
I`m a big Bleach fan but the games were never that great tbh. The only one that I actually enjoyed was Bleach Versus Crusade for the Wii, which was a third person fighting game so it felt the closest to the anime battles. It was pretty satisfying to use attacks like getsuga tensho, transform mid battle, and it even had a 4 players mode as well which was pretty cool.
Too bad it wasn't worldwide. They would've made so much money
The psp games were decent for the time period Heat the Soul 6 was the best to me I didn’t like the arena style of HtS7
I actually got recommended to play Heat the Soul 6 for its Story Mode. I need to go back and play it at some point.
Is it possible that you increased the speed of the audio?
@@marcolivellidavid6926 yea I did, to cut down the time it took to edit this video 😅 You're the first to notice
I remember watching this and being like “wow this is awesome I wish that blue gogeta would become canon one day”
Sad there isn’t some home video release versions.
why do we have to be stuck with the simpsons but japan gets the good stuff why
They should make the Broly God story as an OVA. That will be pretty cool.
The audience's morality put together equates a former genocider family man
Look into LoG2, this video was super interesting
The 4D movie totally spoiled Super Broly lol
Why is the Heat the Soul series a Japanese-only PSP exclusive?! Would've been amazing on PS2 and PS3 ports and sold well in the US, but Sony loves doing Sony things as usual...
R.I.P. Akira Toriyama. I hope the Dragon Ball series gets canceled and Sparking Zero and Daima will be the final things to come out of the franchise. Reason being because I am scared Toei and Bandai will goes against Toriyama's wishes just like Nick did with Hillenburg's. The theme park and Reese's Puffs collaborations are disrespectful enough.
Nick didn't go against Steven's wishes the same 2009 interview that everyone quotes as him not wanting spinoffs he says he never wanted to do more movies and then wrote the next 2 spongebob movies even in the interview from 2009 he didnt say no he said he just didn't see it happening at the time. The last thing Stephen worked on was the last movie and he approved the Camp Koral concept there
Heat the soul games are god awful so are the ps2 fighters. Honestly resurrection or the Wii game are the best bleach games made at this point
Any tips on getting the multiplayer mode working? I for the life of me can't get it to work well especially the farthest I got was the first round but it always freezes. Great video by the way😊
Thanking you for speaking about these! I've always wanted to watch these event exclusive films.
Right! It's crazy they wouldn't try to keep capitalizing on these and release them in some sort of way, especial years after the first and only airings. Though I guess the "limited time" approach is explicitly what encourages people to get out to go see them.
Universal could package a bunch of these 4D shorts together and give them a limited run in 3D in theaters in other countries at least.
Man they really liked making Gogeta fight Broly. Whether it had been the game openings, Super Broly movie, or that short film (even though that’s not technically Gogeta)
I'm sure with the release of this video, somebody on the internet will have the movies streamed. Don't say "can't" online. If it exists, the internet will find it.
