He said that a theory has "withstood rigorous examination, is most consistent with the evidence and makes predictions that have born out." The ancient text haven't stood up, AT ALL, to basic examination, let alone rigorous examination, are cinreary to all the evidence, and any predictions they may or may not make are vague nonsense that could apply to anything, so they are entirely useless.
