    It is because of the books that made the show and there are a lot of different details that were missed from the book and changed. I love all the chronicles of the vampires and at first I didn’t love the movie because of all the changes they made but at the end it was amazing.

      @@abhishekpackage-pg8lcArmand is a "sit back and see how this plays out" kinda dude. Here and in the books. They made him even moreso like that here. In the books, Louis never faced death, he was automatically locked in a coffin. Armand took him out that same night. In both the book and here he knew the coven was going to do what they did and he allowed it because he didnt care. At no point was Armand never in control. He allowed it to see what would happen. In the book, he did that by experimenting on Claudia. Chopping her head off and putting it on a adult vampire's body to see if it will take. It didnt, so he put her head back on her own body and put her in the area where they had Madeline and they burned when the sun came up. To get rid of the evidence. Since they didnt go that route for the series, its Louis that gets that torture.

I liked them and plan to reread as well, 30 years later. I appreciate so much how they've modernized the books. I think this series is top tier and I'm so glad they went in this direction. You've got to remember that the show is based off of the entire Vampire chronicles - 13 books. So although it's true to the essence of all the books, it won't be true to each individual book because so many of the stories overlap in time and fill in missing gaps. Focus on the first 3 books - "Interview with the Vampire, The Vampire Lestat & The Queen of the Damned", then the book "The Vampire Armand". Side note: I know most people are talking about how they wanted to see Louis beat down Armand (because that b^tch deserved it)- but Louis with his memories intact would've learned not to fight and older, more powerful vampire - especially one that can be out in the sun. Also, Armand was a sub who like to top from the bottom, all Louis needed to do was establish his dominance to win, not fight. Also something to think about - Armand said he preserved Louis happiness. Daniel made Louis happy. Maybe his turning Daniel wasn't fully out of spite. Perhaps it was as apology gift to Louis. Perhaps it's because Armand finally found someone who could best him & hold his own against him. And by being his maker - he would always have someone he couldn't read and would therefore be a match for his own mind. Or perhaps Daniel wanted the gift. We'll see in season three perhaps.

    How could Louis be running his mouth and Claudia not hear it...the version that took place in Season 1 is corroborated by Claudia's journal. The Season 1 version had Louis and Claudia communicating to each other via telepathy. So the words were not said out loud. Season 2 version had Louis saying the words out loud so that Lestat could hear it. Then it had Louis turning to Lestat, basically yelling a bunch of other dialogue...but Claudia, a vampire with incredible hearing, didn't hear THOSE lines just the other ones and wrote it in her journal? Does that make sense? And this section of the journal was not altered. All the pages were intact. It doesn't make sense. It is far more likely that the coven had read all of Claudia's journal entry regarding this fight and, instead of pointing out that the communication between the two was via telepathy, said that they were actually lines said out loud. However, Louis would be able to point out that they were based on their telepathic connection. Claudia probably just wrote that she communicated with Louis in her journal. the other lines were not heard and recorded in the journal because they were not said. These are subtle hints in the writing to suggest that the version that Lestat told probably isn't the right version either. Also, remember, this version of the fight was based on the script that was written. So it is per the coven's input. At this point, they are actively working to try and diminish the impact of the fight because they want the crowd to be angry at Louis. They even go out of their way to try and diminish the fall from the sky as if it wouldn't have much of an impact on Louis. It isn't until Lestat goes off script regarding dropping Louis from the sky that things are far more honest.

    I wonder if Armand’s traumatic mortal life as a slave/ prositute has anything to do with his fear of abandonment and the lengths he’s willing to go to be loved by Louis, even if he has to edit and reprogram Louis’s mind into reciprocating that love. Another thing worth mentioning is Louis was a pimp in his mortal life and during their time in Paris Louie and Armand’s relationship was quite the opposite. Armand was the coven leader and yet Louis was in control of the relationship despite how the other vampires felt. Armand has always been a double agent. I have a theory that he might even be in cahoots with the Talamasca and was probably responsible for having Daniel’s laptop hacked. But I’m rambling…… Can’t wait for the finale

    I want Lestat with Louis and Louis with Lestat. But ion want them to drama queens fighting anymore🤣💀. It’s obvious they BOTH wanted each other based on each other’s accounts (don’t know if I can trust either of them with some of these various testimonies of WTH happened). But right now, Lestat over here crying over Louis and Louis is always conjuring up Lestat every chance he get. BUT MY GOD! Yall need vampire couple’s counseling sessions! And let’s start with the fact that Claudia wasn’t supposed to be here and the first place and Lestat was right. And let’s also speak about how Lestat doesn’t handle his feelings the right way and either resorts to having no compassion, yelling, or dropping people like eggs! Also. Lestat wasn’t exaggerating. In vampire world, you’ll notice that in a lot of books and tv series, vampire kids are forbidden. It’s a reason for that. They aren’t fully matured and developed. Especially toddlers. So they are more prone to chaos. A teen vampire will always be at mental war because they haven’t fully grown into adults. Like Claudia. She said it herself. She will always be stuck in a little girls body unable to grow. She’s supposed to be younger in the books than she was in this show.

    If you've read the book this was much different from the book. In the book Louis cones to the realization that Armand manipulated the situation and starved Lestat, keeping him senile so the Coven would vote to have Claudia killed. See Armand wanted out of the coven but wasn't wanting to go out in the world without a more modern day companion. Louis' humanity intrigued him but Louis was loyal to Claudia, so he tried to get Louis to get rid of Claudia by making Madeline. That didn't really work so when Lestat came to Paris to get Armand's Ancient Blood to heal, Armand kept him locked up to get information from him. In The Vampire Armand we are further told that Armand actually tried to give Claudia her wish by taking off her head and putting it pn Madeline's body but that didn't work so he just put the bodies in the hole to burn up. My thought with the show is Armand's deal involved getting rid of Claudia and Madeline in exchange Santiago would become the new coven leader and Armand and Louis would be banished. I do think Lestat here is still being controlled, not sure if it was by Armand or Santiago because both were shown to be powerful in this area. I did like how more morbid this was though. In the book Claudia didn't talk because her head was on another body so she couldn't, here there's a reason they can't speak as much and Claudia's death was more horrific. We do see Lestat's immediate regret when seeing Claudia stare at him as she dies. In the book Lestat did care but always felt regret for turning a 5 year old into a vampire. Here we see that regret. Lestat's version of the story does fall in line with how different he recounts the same events as Louis in the Vampire Lestat book. Louie painted Lestat as a monster whereas Lestat clears up the truth or at least his point of view.

    And to be honest, I don't believe some of Lestat statements as well, unlike in the books, the show Lestat seem ignorant to the point I don't feel sorry for him, unlike in the book, where when he went to Paris, he was heartbroken, have scars, was sympathetic, looked basically like a wounded wolf and he was happy to see Louis again. Whereas in the show, he looked kept, ignorant, didn't care for them and just perform the trial. I prefer book Lestat than this garbage version. Edited: Dont say Lestat was the victim. When people (or should I say Lestat fan in the show) blame ONLY Armand, when we should blame ALL of them for failing Claudia. Like theatre of the vampires, Santiago, Lestat for playing the role (don't care if he was whatever he was still invovled) and Louis for turning her into a vampire (though in the book Lestat was the one who changed her as a gift for his Louis and to have a family) And before you say, "Well, in the book Armand did this and that..." Well, the book Armand and tv show Armand are effin DIFFERENT. Just how Lestat in the book, the REAL handsome, naive, rule breaker, funny, charasmatic, LOVE for humanity Lestat is far different than that abusive, toxic, selfish, unsympathetic, cry baby who hates Claudia (Lestat never hated her in the book he saw her as his dark child, his doll) Lestat in the show. And, to be fair, Armand regretted his decision and was sympathetic. Whereas in the book, he was cold, selfish, and only cared about his agenda and wasn't apologetic. And it's funny how people HATE Armand. BUT was effin cool in season one with Lestat beating the living s**** out of Louis and a cheater, which the REAL Lestat would NEVER DO! And it's funny how NOBODY got mad at Lestat, even when he didn't stand up for Louis, like in the book, he was mad at Santiago for doing that! But in the show, he was a effin coward and wanted revenge! I hate these bias, uneducated reviews because is it reviews? Or hating Armand while hyping for that toxic version of "Lestat?"

  • @T2MARA
    @T2MARA 24 дні тому

    Armand was as selfish as Lestat. Poor Claudia felt used because Lestat created her just to tie Louis to him. And Armand let Claudia die for the same but opposite reason. He thought freeing Louis from Claudia would tie Louis to him. Book, movie, and TV Claudia was so tragic. She finally found Madeleine who valued her for her . I like how the TV show made her a gangsta going out and not just a victim. I think Anne Rice planned to eventually make a way for Claudia to return and get her revenge. Her ghost was mentioned in other books so I do think her spirit would have eventually found a way. But, unfortunately Anne Rice passed away so we’ll never know. Maybe the TV show will take liberties and let us see her revenge on the show.
