Hard men and Faces abound as we travel the Sweeney streets from Kensal to North Kensington - bumping into assorted other dodgy characters as we go. There's a load to get through in this video so I do rabbit on ten to the dozen at times; but remember there will also be a 'companion guide' of side-by-side still shots to go with it at some point, for those that prefer to contemplate the details in...

Just been going through the series - brilliant work any more coming?
Fantastic ❤
This is is this is the channel I’ve been needin my whole life 😊❤
One you didn’t cover is the old adventure playground where George was ambushed by Albie. That site now houses Chelsea Academy School.
I love these clips . The comparison is fascinating , thank you compiling these and sharing them . I watched another Euston Films production recently, The Knowledge, and am fascinated as to where many of the places filmed are. Some obvious ones but many which are not.
A great watch, other filming locations were Clapham, Tooting & Hammersmith
I was down visiting my daughter recently and walked up that street in Tyburnia. Lovely spot. Great channel, Keep them coming 😎
I Imagine Minder locations would be pretty similar as it was the same production company. Euston Films.
Love the channel mate, and always looking forward to the next episode!
Brilliant work Sir, thoroughly enjoy these. Amazing research and attention to detail and the comedic narration is perfect!
Is there any chance that someone like Transport for London would give you a bloody great financial grant to digitally recreate 1970's London? You are doing a public service. I've no idea how you figure out some of the locations. Well done!
interesting you mention the episode contact breaker, as the opening of that episode where Reagan gets out of his car and goes into the bank was filmed in Hatch End, quite a distance from the usual locations.
Still love watching the sweeney today interesting locations, thanks for uploading
What a fantastic piece of work. The quality of research, filming and post-production consistent throughout.
Thank you :)
Used to have a massive crush on Rachel Davies (Tina ) ..beautiful lady
If I ever did a “top ten Sweeney birds” special, she’d definitely be up there 👍
@@Sweenealogy absolutely mate , with my beloved Prunella Gee taking number 1 spot mate 🔥🔥🔥🥰
Ubiquitous 70’s “hard man” James Cosmo
Another excellent vid. Please do keep them coming. 👍🏻
Thanks, will do!

There was a nearly perfect shot by shot remake of opening credits of the American 1980s private eye series that took place in San Diego, California; "Simon & Simon" (Starring Gerald McRaney and Jameson Parker) with Mad Men star Jon Hamm and Parks & Rec star Adam Scott. Has a kickass opening song. It is spectacular.
You are truly a scholar. This kind of research should really be taken seriously - stuff like the Sweeney, Minder, etal, provides the equivalent of Google Street View for Seventies and Eighties London.
Thanks :) indeed, that documenting of the era is one of the reasons I felt driven to make these videos
"Who are you?" "We're the sweeney son, and we haven't had our dinner."
Makes me very nostalgic for the London i lived in back in the seventies,i avoid going there now, enough said !!!.
Love this channel - when London was London. Say no more!
Look Forward to part 2 I was about 11 when i saw them filming at Bridgade house Parson Green my school St marks lower school was down the road from that pub some one came running in the play ground the Sweeney filming down the road and a couple of us went running down the road happy days 🙂
Hope you found part 2 on the channel as well :)
Steady on, Boysey! 😂 @6:43
Thanks once again. Really enjoyed this
Another great video, worked in w10 and w11 in the 90s and the Walmer castle was.one of my customers. The mews next door to it is where terry mccann chases one of the thugs in the minder episode 'whose wife is it anyway '. ,and Ledbury road is where alan and Jim had their antique shop.
06:57 I did the walk including the limp 😆
So well put together and top notch entertainment. Many thanks and look forward to many more.
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it :)
Fascinating documentary with an eloquent commentary.
There were a lot of scenes in more rural areas too, can you investigate these?
Yes I have many of them “pinpointed” and will be visiting those out of town places too, eventually.

❤1st time viewer, brilliant, thank you 🙏 ❤
Welcome! Glad you like the channel :)
Gentrification has ruined the character of NHG.
Great job!, I remember the title sequence has the underpass of the west way flyover just by little venice
Excellent, loved the shots of Ledbury Road, and Briggs Antiques, opposite the Walmer Pub. Used to know that road well, back in the 70s
Wow! LTN in the 70's. 😂
Shame one cannot park in London even for a day out with the family. You have to pay congestion charge, ULEZ and parking chargers. What a shame.
@Sweenealogy, Nice Video mate. You sound young. Very young. Surely you cannot remember the 70s. I guess you remember bits of 80s and 90s. Like I said, you sound young.
It must just be my youthful exuberance :D I assure you I definitely remember the 70s - I was born in late 60s, so was a kid when The Sweeney was first aired but I have many memories of the time, in particular of London as I spent a lot of weekends travelling to and through it.
@@Sweenealogy Yea me and all
20 million for a 1 bed flat there now. 10 grand a year to park your car.
I know. "Progress" eh...
Just discovered this channel and its made my day, week, month!! 😂😂 Thanks for the effort innputting these videos together, your a true gentleman and geyser!
Thank you - glad you like them :)
Addictive viewing. Superb work. Thanks
Glad you enjoyed it :)
The Sweeney was our Streets of SF...Dirty Harry...and all the rest...the UK did it better, the US commercialized it better.
Mad,beautifully...obsessive,aka research.
Thought this would be naff but really enjoyed it, a lot of work has gone into this, will watch the others.
Very entertaining and informative, nicely done. Everyday life would definitely be more exciting with a constant accompaniment of Sweeney incidental music.
Haha, very true
Fantastic video, you put a lot of work into this. The Sweeney was a classic show and the London locations were as much a part of it as Regan, Carter and all the villains. Great to see so much of it hasn't changed much.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Would be nice to see a similar thing for Minder.
Many people have asked the same (a few for The Professionals, too); I'm certainly not averse to the idea, but have plenty of work on my hands covering The Sweeney for the time being.
Another great video with locations near to where I live , I loved the 70’s… Cheers 👍
I'm so glad I was around when the sweeney was first broadcast back in the 1970s the show was a more realistic and gritty representation of policing in Britain in those days. And it's still my favourite cop show.
Brilliant work. First vid I've seen of yours and will be watching the others with great interest my friend. This was my manor as a kid and I still walk around the area now and again. I miss the open roads, lack of street furniture and the old Routemasters. In short, the freedom... And, as you say, the chances of seeing a bobby on the beat around here these days are miniscule.
Thank you - really glad you liked it 😊
