What a great interview! I really enjoyed how candid he was about how things went back in the day at White Wolf.

I think the main thing I got from this edition, which was written by Stewart Weick more than anyone else, was that it was inspired by Pirsig’s Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. They even included a quote. The game was still very much in a formative stage - still developing its core ideas - but it had an understated ‘war of ascension’. You felt the protagonists were more hunted rather than true warriors with an actual shot of winning. But this may just be me. The innovation of the magick system was very freeform and innovative but untested in practice. You could really do some wacky stuff, but this was OK because the rules encouraged you to ignore the rules anyway!

If you want a far future game with Spaceships, TSR's Star Frontiers is utterly fantastic even for its age. You will want to house rules things very likely make your own races or species but between Star Frontiers and Alpha Dawn it's a really fun system as I remember it and it's TSR which is nice. My gaming group always played mage as part of the World of Darkness, so the Modern world but darker. We would make a chantry when we were able, but it was really just a place we went when the session was over or if a player couldn't make a session, they were considered in the Chantry. When we crossed over with Werewolf, we would make more trips into the Umbra or Deep Umbra. Overall though we stuck to the real world with that very Dark feel. This was a great Interview!! Very well done and VERY interesting as a lover of Mage the Ascension! Thanks so much for this, it was really great!

A little late, but better than never. I discovered recently this podcast, and started consuming a lot of its content quite fast, ever since gaining a new love for the mage game and an appreciation for Terry and his love for the franchise that spread to me. I hope he ascended to a better place, and the podcast continuing or not, he will be missed.

I brought some friends into the WoD fold today, and I've shared this podcast as a resource for one of them. I hope she comes to appreciate what Terry's built for the community just as much as I have. May his legacy last a long, long time.

Terry is the one who convinced me to get into Mage. I’m running my first game this year, all because you guys showed me how great it is. RIP, Terry. You were the very best of us.

I reveiced with great sorrow the news about Terry's demise. I didn't have the privelege of meeting Terry in person or talked to him, but through the podcast I at least could have a glimpse of his incredible talent, humor and values. He made me company many times, not only with every new realease but also when I re-heard past ones until falling sleep at the unmistakable sound of his voice. My sincere condolences to to his family and friends.

Mage the Podcast had played a very important role in my life when I was going through my divorce and a really rough year in work at the same time. Good episode. I'm slowly making my way through the WoD books and have read Mage 1e and 1st edd. Book of Chantries before starting on Mage 2e, so it's interesting to hear what might be changing and keeping in mind what to watch out for. Looking forward to making my way through the series.

I just discovered this podcast about 12 hours ago, I can only offer my condolences. I learned a lot about how the methods of actually doing the magic in the M20 system from listening to another video y'all have posted on here, today, and Terry really had a very thoughtful and engaging way of presenting the information, along with his co-host. Consider me subscribed, it's the least I could do.
