I don't think there's ever been a time in post-aggricultural human history before the modern era where anyone thought the earth was flat? As far back as ancient Egypt, they had the observation tools to look at the stars and know better than that. Maybe some time between discovering fire and the telescope, perhaps, but sailors have nearly always known it was round, astrologers have always known it was round, and I don't think most laypeople ever cared, as long as the preists werent screwing up their prophecies. As David said, the debate between geocentrism and heliocentrism is another matter entirely, but like. Discworld was always modern fiction.
This isn't 1987, you don't need to destroy book spines to get high quality pdf scans anymore: You have cameras of higher quality than any paper scanner that exists on the phones in your pockets, with built in pdf scanning abilities that will center and trim the pages for you, and some even with ai that will remake the text crisper...
Yep, it wouldn't be that hard these days to make a PDF of the 1st edition, even if there is only one copy of it. Even if you couldn't simply scan it with a phone, you can always just sit down and type it in.
I hate that after having spent multiple decades arguing that Gif is pronounced with a hard G sound I must now argue that Magi is pronounced with a J sound as Maj-Aye 🙃
You dont have to spend decades bickering over bullshit. I am sure you could find better ways to spend your time. I certainly know better things than listening to or reading that.
The only thing I know about Ars Magica in general is that there's a Minecraft mod of it for 1.7.10 and I'm not a very big fan of it, at least when comparing it to the likes of Thaumcraft, Botania, Blood Magic and Technomancy.

@@schonlingg.wunderbar2985 Nah champ, this is what entitlement buys. It is my right to argue over whatever pedantry I want.

Wait. I could sworn Vis was pronounced as Vee
I said "Vis" and cut the 30 seconds of him going "what are you talking about."
