A level Law is a challenging but very interesting subject to study. This channel is designed to help you understand the key topics and prepare you for the exams.
Each topic will explain the essential points you need for AO1 (legal knowledge) as well as AO3 (evaluation).
I teach the OCR exam board but the specifications across the boards are very similar.

Lucy Letby- miscarriage of justice? Therapy notes or a confession?
Переглядів 7064 місяці тому
An article has been published about the notes that Letby wrote saying things such as “I did it” and “I am evil”. Was this a confession or simply things that she was encouraged to write following therapy?

Do you do private tutoring?
@@andrewmclean2323 Yes I do
Do you give any advice on here Hannah 🙏
I desperately need help. My father is co- owner of a property we have together. He gave me the property in Florida and then never returned. I have paid all taxes and all fees and Maintance. Now, he is pushing me out with court. However, his been extremely aggressive, rude, constantly saying he will kick me out
@@1972yourock I’m sorry but I can’t give legal advice. I think property laws are different in America to those in England. You may be able to find a lawyer in a firm who gives a 30 minute free consultation 👊
Some people literally get away with it

Fair my ass first
Please listen to Myers closing statement, parts 1, 2 and 3. The brain boggles!
How can anyone get a fair trial when it drags on for months. The quality of evidence in the Lucy Letby was particularly poor and unconvincing. The prosecution simply figuratively battered the court over the head with the sheer weight of often completely worthless evidence, for 8 months with little opposition, including no defence witnesses until Lucy was broken in the witness box, and the jury had been beaten into submission
I wish you all the best ❤
Thank you ❤
Sexual violence comes from homewrecking and adultery. Sometimes people end up fucking baby brains because it gets so bad. Ask president biden.
Can’t lie I was struggling about this topic and you are making me understand this so much better. Thank you a lot ☺️
Your videos help massively but are there any major differences as I take aqa a level law!
The structure of the exams is different but the content should be similar!
From all that I have learned about what has gone in the Lucy Letby case, I'm left with absolutely no doubt that her conviction is wholey unsafe.
Thank you very much ❤
I’m glad it helped 👊
Thank you

This was so helpful, thank you!
Helped thanks. Got the issue with work now and looking to take it to tribunal and also using this as a part of it
Among all the faults of the lackluster defence, what was also forgotten was the fact these were not normal babies- normal babies pop out of Mum and go home with her the next day to live a happy life. It is human arrogance to expect that all these underweight, sick babies passing through an ICU are just going to have a bit of treatment, voila!! become stable and survive. The prosecution implied that Letby had gone berserk because she was a smothered, spoiled only child... of course her parents thought she was precious she had been an ICU baby herself and it was touch and go if she survived. There are reports which may/may not be true that Letby was granted 1.5 million in legal aid, as it is not expected that a £30 -40K a year nurse (who had the burden of so much life/death responsibility) could pay it herself. But maybe that was not enough in the legal profession and she got a bargain bucket defence. As not only did they fail to deliver expert witnesses they didn't challenge any of the nonsense the prosecution was putting out such as showing a phone video of Letby out on the tiles with her drunken mates...I mean what was the point of that? or trying to say she was guilty because she was scorned by not having the attention of a married doctor. The prosecution was clutching at straws and the defence should have whacked them out of their hands.
Great conversation. I'm not in the UK... who pays for her lawyer's ?
There’s a legal aid system for those who are below a certain income. She might have had assets eg a house that at she had to sell first to fund her lawyers
The problem with this case. The prosecution were allowed to retrospectively go back years fitting things together in a way that suited them. Now I appreciate people would say or what else are they expected to do? The key for all this is the medical expert told them these babies had come to harm, if people are going to challenge that medical expertise this case takes on a completely different look.
The convictions are unsafe because there is insufficient cogent evidence to prove beyond reasonable doubt the commission of murder by Lucy Letby!
Lucy's Barrister Ben Myers didn't call any of Lucy's Expert Witnesses, except the plumber. This creates the impression she was failed by him. Could it be possible the judge gave directions they were not to be called to avoid witnesses on both sides disagreeing with each other during the trial, as Expert Witnesses are supposed to be providing independent, unbiased, evidence to the court? I believe Ben Myers is continuing with the Appeal against the sentence related to Baby K, with solicitor Richard Thomas. Barrister Mark McDonald is starting the lengthy process of reviewing the case files in preparation for a CCRC Application. He is working without fees, as he has done for another nurse in prison, with a potential MOJ. I expect others from the legal profession, will join the growing army of genuine experts across the medical and scientific communities, offering their help. There's no Legal Aid for this I understand. The strength of feeling around this case is so strong, if it's necessary, I wouldn't be surprised to see it crowd funded to help Lucy find justice and get home to her family.
Really interesting. Do you have lots of qualifications ?

All deamed natural deaths.... Doctor A who testified annonymously sent her a Text message at the time of the death saying the cause of death was natural: then changed his mind at the trial.....The Text messages at the time of the deaths do not support the theory that Letby was obsessed with Dr A (Anonymous witness). In my opinion it is a case of a young nurse being scapegoated by older doctors.
Hi Hannah,in 1992 I spent 3 weeks in psychiatric hospital. We were encouraged to write down our thoughts and draw pictures about how we were feeling. In 1998 to my surprise the picture and writing were shown to me in a file. As I was better,it was hard for me to believe I had felt so bad ,ever. No way should this kind of thing be used in evidence,it’s ridiculous. I had drawn a derelict city with no inhabitants, and in writing I had referred to the human race as ‘Pigs’. Nothing could be farther from the person I am. Lucy Letby is innocent,I am sure.
Thank you for your insight- very interesting and good to hear from someone who has been through this. I hope that you are now feeling better 👊
No evidence,no witnesses ,no motive, welcome to english justice to protect the crumbling nhs.
They never called one expert witness WHY !!!!!, Maybe they thought it was so ridiclous a charge it would be a not guilty,And how is it so easy to send a peeson to jail for life with no proof she did anything .I will tell you why ,because it is england ,where lawyers make fortunes as in the post office scandal ,hillsborough and all the other moj, s.
The more I read about this case, the more I start to think that her defence team didn't do very well... 😮
I know! I think there’s a lot to suggest an unsafe conviction- it doesn’t necessarily mean she’s innocent but there seems to be more uncertainty now
This case sits up front of a huuuuge stink. The woman is a scapegoat, in the old school meaning of the word.
Inquiry terms are based on the assumption that the woman was guilty... Oooops 😮 I’ve seen another similar chart, produced by way of illustration, that shows it could of been done by at least 2 other members of staff - so much for that as “evidence”!
None of us know whether she is really innocent or guilty but I can’t understand how someone can be convicted of murder when there was zero hard evidence of murders actually taking place. Was there even a case for her to answer to?
She's innocent
Scapegoat from the corrupt system
…….and Legal Executives can apply for certain judicial appointments as well as Barristers and solicitors.
I believe she is innocent i believe she uncovered somthing horrible that happened at the hospital and then someone decidce to silence her and make her a scape goat to cover up their crimes.
Have always said the evidence was paper thin,I do feel for the parents involved,if she did it she should rot in jail but if she’s innocent ,one hell of a price for her to pay doing your job,and so they have someone to take the blame. She was convicted on hear say and theory of what may have happened. And what could have happened but know one really knows what did happen to them babies ,which may have had nothing to do with what she’s done.Surely their should have been,post-mortem to find cause of death. If nothing came up then how can they convict her with no evidence.Something May have gone wrong before she went on shift that resulted in the deaths on her shift it’s not impossible.
Lucys first efense team fed her to the wolves. Now shej as people willing to fight for her. And yes given what ive seen of thie original autopsies and then tge hypothetical murders and phony insulin tamperings i feel 100 percent she is innocent
She’s Definitely innocent ….i looked into this trial in depth
She now has a new legal team lead by lawyer Mark McDonald. He is capable of getting experts to show up for the defence. It is backed by almost all medical, statistical and forensic experts in the uk and abroad. I think Lucy will at some point be exonerated
Mike Lynch who drowned on his yacht recently was interested in the case and it's quite likely he would have put serious resources /used contacts in US. American specialists would drive a truck through the holes in the prosecution case in my view. If she is innocent she has absolutely rotten luck.
I am not a therapist. I am not an expert with statistics. What I do know is that while neither the defence nor prosecution can lie in court, they will present evidence so as to support their version of events. I’m feeling that with everything which is appearing in the media, a case is being made for a case review. If she is innocent then this is a howling miscarriage of justice which will affect her for the rest of her life, if she is guilty then the law requires that she is shown to be guilty beyond reasonable doubt, and doubt is what is being cast with these news stories. “Reasonable” doubt? That’s a different question. But we (as a society) need to have faith in our legal system and so there should not be reluctance to review cases where new evidence comes to light.
Ok: instead of thinking about Lucy Letby for a moment let's think about how the law works. Someone is convicted , fires their legal team , retains new team. New team are obliged to explore every avenue which is open to them, that is their role, to do less would be dereliction of duty. Now come to Letby, there is a lot in the media lately which could be taken as grounds for unsafe conviction. But as you say we don't know everything. If there is a (potential) miscarriage of justice then it is 100% right that CCRC are approached to consider evidence. That being said let's take a moment to consider the effect this will have on families whose babies are dead or were injured. It will undoubtedly represent further emotional turmoil for them
Legally it’s very interesting but as you point out there’s a huge emotional impact on the families
The problem is, as the recent documentary stated, no medical experts want to risk their careers in being a witness on her defence. Even if they think she deserves a better rationale. I always felt the trial was unsafe and was shocked she was convicted. That doesn't mean I think she's innocent but feel she deserves a fair trial.
Whether people believe she is innocent or not, she deserves a fair trial.
i dont trust police, they stitched me up, some cops are very nasty indeed !!
