Baseball MVPs That Were Not All-Stars (1935-1989)
In this video I wanted to highlight 6 of the 12 MVPS in baseball history that didn’t go to the all star game during their MVP campaigns. If you would like to see the other 6 MVPS be discussed in a follow up video, please let me know and I will gladly do so. This video was meant to be posted on the day of the all star game in Texas (hence the reference to TCM in the intro) but due to a family event, I had to postpone it. Thank you for watching!

Mookie Betts Is Still (Somehow) Underrated

In this video I wanted to talk about Mookie Betts and his incredible versatility on the field. His ability to play where his team needs him is one of the most valuable skills in the game of baseball. While his moving around the diamond is very impressive, I also wanted to highlight some former players who won gold gloves at multiple positions. Great video, Tapir. I wouldn’t say that the NL had a clear offensive MVP in ‘88. I respectfully believe that LA’s Orel Hershiser should have taken that year’s MVP in addition to his Cy Young. Also, I agree, many of Sister Sledge’s hits are overlooked! Haha

I would still argue some people don’t fully appreciate the position versatility he brings to a team. He is obviously widely accepted as one of the best players in the league but I’m just saying I think he is even better than what most people think. Underrated does not necessarily equal people think he is bad. That was what kind of annoyed me about the most overrated player vote that happened a few weeks ago and I believe Jazz was noted as the “most overrated player”. I disagree not because I think he is great but I don’t think you can be overrated when most people think you’re bad. I can understand where you’re coming from though.

You lost me at "I know Barry Bonds did steroids". Actually, you speculate, guess, assume or think he did. No failed test and no first hand accounts of this happening. On top of that, you have no idea what the Babe or any other player may or may not have done. Aaron hit more homeruns in his 30's than his 20's. His 30's had the intro of some interesting drugs.

Everyone says mike trout or Shohei Ohtani or even bryce harper (lmao) are the best player of this generation, but I have to disagree. Mookie is the most consistent, not to mention he's not a naturally large guy. Mookie can do it all and do it any day of the season. He's more of a natural athlete than any other player. As you showed him bowling, I bet if you put him up against any MLB player against any sport, be it basketball, football, golf, soccer, or tennis, I bet Mookie wins against 95% of all the current MLB players at whatever sport you pick. He's good for the clubhouse too. He's not an arrogant player like Manny Machado or Bryce Harper and he probably will be one of the only former MLB players who stops and signs your ball or lets you take a picture with him 20 years from now without charging you $300 to do so. He's a perfect face for MLB. Clean, friendly, gifted, and consistent.
