Personally i dislike hammerdins for a few reasons, i dont dislike the paladin though just the hammerdin type paladin. I found them very boring to play, their kill speed is rather slow and its annoying too but the worst offense they have ever committed is thinking they can do pvp. I did a lot of pvp and ohhh my god the number of mf hammerdins in those games just drove me mad. First of all they sucked at pvp, second there were so many of them, third they were almost all cowards, fourth they had no concept of how to actually do pvp like for example learning how to tele-stomp. They are very tanky and they are strong with weak gear that is their main strength. They can do pretty well with just a lore helm, spirit shield, spirit mainhand, +2 pala combat amu and whatever gear they please for chest, belt, boots and rings. Then over time they find stuff and trade, until they have torch, anni, enigma, arach, shako, 2 sojs, maras, hoto and cta and all of a sudden they believe they can do pvp which they cant. Very strong for pve but a bit slow compared to other characters especially a well geared sorc which kills enemies a lot quicker, but costs a lot more to build. But my main problem with them is that they think they can do pvp just because they are strong in pve. There are good pvp hammerdins but not that many of them, the first skill they need is tele-stomp, then they need to learn some tactics and exploit their innate tankiness.

Hate the paladin, and they could have made one simple change to make him far more friendly to play. The problem is his auras take up the RMB slot, meaning you cant use the RMB to move-and-attack like you can with all other classes, you have to pick out the enemy on a screen likely full of spells flying around, which is hard to do when you dont have a massive flat screen TV to play off. All they had to do was let you put auras on LMB, cast auras, or have them seperate to your attacks, so you could still put sacrifice/smite/zeal/whatever on RMB.

Magefirst, Silk Weaves, Stealth Armor, Lidless shield, are all items I'd call "budget" vs Trang Gloves, War Travs, Vipermagi and a Spirit Shield

I never really liked spirit nor shako for psn necro, there are far better rares but they are very expensive and hard to get. Coronet-diadem 2necro, 20 fcr, str and all resists, you want two sockets but that last socket will be several highrunes more expensive. For a shield +2PB +3Psn Nova, 2 sockets and resists, good luck is all i can say. Boots - faster run walk, hit recovery and massive resistances. Diadem, Arachnid mesh and TO gloves provides all the FCR you need. If you want to break the next breakpoint you will need 15 fcr more. Over spirit and shako you will have 3 more sockets and +3psn nova, you will however lose 4 points in battle orders. But the damage improvement is immense, if you can cram in 4 psn facets thats 20% more psn dmg and -20% enemy psn res. But the shield and the diadem will be nearly impossible to find or even buy. The psn nova necro excels in the pit, is great for open world farming, sucks for bosses. Can be fun in legit duels.

When playing the budget version, i would avoid using raven frost because of the frost damage. If you farm Travincal, Its going to explode the council member's corpses. I would sacrifice the belt slot for a death's guard or Trang-Oul's.
