Thanks for the video review……I’ll pull the trigger on getting these for sure. Worth the price for American made.
How long did it take to fit?
Maybe 2 to 3 hours
How much does install cost?
It takes about 2.5 hours so for us it's $139 x 2.5
Quite a lot of work for a fuel gauge
Manual says 1.7 L or 1.8 quarts
I´m on my way to buy a 2004 1200 sportster and I´m already looking at upgrades hehe. Does this also work on the 2004 model?
Congrats. This works on the fuel injection models only.
Hi.. Great video and super detailed. Please send me the link of the led digital gauge you installed. very nice and not in the way gauge hahaha. hope you reply
This is terrible filmed
Thank you. Since you have so much time on your hands, why not offer some help on editing or something constructive?
Could the gauge be used on an 06 carburetor model?
Does this fit street bob 2014 dyna
As far as I know, it's only for the FI XL models
Can these be worn inside or outside motorcycle pants. Just got my right knee replacement done next will be the left knee. After all of that I will need to get some good braces. Price does not matter at this point.
Yes, and they're very comfortable! I use them to snowboard and all.
No torque wrench after telling us how important that you do not over tighten. I know you boys are experienced mechanics but as a tutorial you could do it correctly.
You're correct
Would this work on an 01 sportster 883 custom
Nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah, nah.
Boys should I try this or just let my guy do it? I bet I can get it close but I don’t wanna go sideways down here he road lol
I know this is old but was there fuel in the tank when I removed the lines of so does it leak or not to worry?
Hello sir its its 100% fully synthetic oil are u sure
1:21 great video but my kit supplied by Harley did not come with the jumper leads to connect to the diagnostics plug. I only have the orange wire to connect but have no idea where too
It's been a long time since I've done this kit but I believe the orange wire goes to anything that is 12 V switched hot. Meaning once you turn the key on whatever power source you usw should be 12vdc
I have fitted this followed your video, on a 2017 iron 883, but I have the fuel light staying on now , is there something I have forgot, thanks
Possibly the floating sensor is rubbing on the pump housing and not allowing it to register. You could try shaking the bike aggressively to see if it frees up. Otherwise, remove assembly and inspect. This is provided all electrical connections are proper. Inspect that first.
@tappedoutcycles2757 when you mean the floating sensor Is that the part that has replaced the low fuel light float Thanks
Yes brother it’s good information to me also cause my 2017 super low have no show fuel lower indication so it’s helpful to me.
Happy it helped out
I have an 2004 Sportster custom with no fuel and I am obsessed with with Fuel gauge.. only issue is that it will not fit my bikes master cylinder. If I get a new master cylinder for a more recent bike would it fit? Or what else would I have to buy? Thanks so much! Great video!
It'll only work on Fuel Injected models
Thats a 10/10 instructional video thanks mate.
So glad you found it useful!
Great video 👍thanks for your great lighting and information and for not playing loud music...keep up the great work 👍 you have the best how to work on your Harley videos that I have ever seen...👍👍👍💯💯💯⚡⚡⚡🇺🇲🇺🇲🇺🇲🏁🏁🏁
Thank you so very much for the kind words and I'm glad you found it so helpful. We would definitely make more video if we could find a way to monetize things or money wasn't an issue. The problem for us is that it takes so much time and we're limited on that.
big job. great video
Thanks for watching
the seat locks that way because the momentum of the bike is going to push your body backwards... keeping the seat locked in... if it was the other way around... you'd end up with your seat coming off the post.
it work on a 2017 iron 883?
Yes it does. Any fuel injected
Hey I know this video is 3 years old, but I found it extremely helpful. I have a 2017 HD 1200T Sportster Superlow that does not have a fuel gauge. I went to my first motorcycle rally in Puerto Penasco Mexico this past weekend and had to keep a very close eye on my mileage by using my trip meter. I think having a fuel gauge might have lessened my anxieties about running out of gas and being a burden on the folks I was riding with. The way you explained everything step by step, makes me think I could do this repair to my bike….maybe 😊
You can for sure. Thanks for watching
I’m gonna not watch the whole video and put the oil in the stator side 😂
I have a 2006 883 custom, is It the same install? Same parts and connections? Or because it's a carburated model It has diferences? Thanks
This is for FI bikes only so it will not work on yours
Tip, just twist the tail off the zip tie with lineman’s pliers. Smooth finish.
Donde se consigue 😮
Para una 1200 año 2005
With your bigger right knee are you wearing medium on both legs? The lower strap looks like theres not a ton of strap for guys with bigger calves
I wear medium on both and for me, there was plenty of adjustment. The width of the knee is the limiting factor for the brace as it'll start putting acute pressure on the sides
Don’t Buy if you’re going on an adventure ride!! It’ll leave you stranded
Great hot too though
I recon it’s a waste of money, and takes away the personal bond a man has with his pride and joy lol but all I do is just reset my (A) odometer when I fill up I usually get an average 150 klms until the fuel light comes on but even if “forget” which I haven’t I know I got about 90mins of riding before the light comes on. I use (B) odometer for my oil changes. But a cool project
Nice and clear explanation👌 Which Engine Oil you recommend for KTM Duke 390 apart from Motorex bcoz it isn't available in our country and which one you pick Amsoil Metric 15w50, Motul 300V or 7100 or Putoline Ester Tech 15w50....Thanks😊
Alguien me puede ayudar con el link de dónde lo puedo comprar para una sporter por favor
I can't find the plug where the gauge harness plugs into. 🤔
Hi. I have a question. Where can I buy the fuel gauge?
Quick question, I'm not a big fan of the digital display, I like gauges more, could one wire it to a gauge instead of the display or will that not work?
So long as the voltage input calibration was correct, it should work
What is the nut size
I know this is an older video, but I really need to do this. I can't find a link to the gauge kit and the site is Temporarily Closed. Can anyone help me out?
Harley Davidson has them on their website
Nice job on the install and explaination of the making it happen. I'm looking at an 883, or, a 1200 Sportster. Definitely want a fuel gauge on the bike! Doug🏍️👍
Glad you found it useful. Would love to make more but it's just too time consuming without a way to monetize them.
I've watched this video quite a few times to setup my installed gap. The instructions from Rekluse aren't that clear. After fully collapsing the clutch cable adjuster and 3-4 threads on the lower in-line cable adjuster I'm supposed to "Using a T30 Torx, loosen the clamping bolt on the throwout arm. Rotate and the shaft counter-clockwise with a flat screwdriver while turning the arm clockwise. Tighten the clamping bolt with the arm and shaft in this position." However, after doing this the clutch is basically fully engaged where in your video the arm still has movement, mine does not... Realize this was three years ago, any tips? 😊
Terrible video. Delete immediately.
Is it possible to use a touring fuel gauge instead of the led one with this kit?
Where did u perchase the fuel guage?
Vtwin mfg or straight from HD as it's an OEM part
