Right at 6:44 where the King is laughing with Queen Margethe he was on crutches and tripped up the steps. He fell at her feet and they were laughing at something he said to her. He also went skiing here in Canada many years ago and commented that we made good snow. He praised our powder makers (a special thing we drag behind the snow cats and no its not a tiller.) Seems like a good chap. The longer the King keeps on the throne the less his son has to deal. Its no one's fault that the kid is a useless twit. He had every opportunity for university or as an adjunct to the Crown (not a prince of course) but the apple didn't fall far from the tree. I'm sure his bio father had something to do with that.

I have always considered Princess Mette Marit to have taken on her role as Crown Princess very seriously and distanced herself from all the hoo ha surrounding her son. She has conducted herself with elegance and has risen to the title of Crown Princess. As for her son, he has found it difficult to adapt to his place in his life. It happens in many families.

Gosh, all the ignorant, nasty comments here from people who hardly know who these people even are in the first place. You can’t even get their names right. Enrique? What crap. Queen Margrethe II and Prince Henrik were married on the 10th of June 1967. Henri de Larborde de Mompezat was a French count from a large family in southern French. He had a university degree and was working as a diplomat at the French embassy in London when they met. He had a vast knowledge of many subjects and spoke five languages: French, English, Danish, Chinese and Vietnamese. He had a great love of literature and art and was a fine musician and artist in his own right. To some Danes he was a bit too French and not Danish enough, but people who met him were taken in by his kindness, his approachability, his knowledge and a real interest in things he saw or was presented to at official engagements. The couple were deeply in love and raised two fine young men, the oldest is now our King. Upon marriage he was given the title Prince Henrik of Denmark. Henrik is the Danish version of Henri or Henry in English. The Queen always called him Henri and their family language was French ensuring their sons grew up bilingual both boys speaking four languages each now. Danish, French, English and German. The Queen herself speaks five languages: Danish, English, French, Swedish and German. She has also on several occasions given talks in the Faroese language, but claimed in a interview that she does not speak the language. However to those of us with some knowledge of Faroese she sounds more than fluent. The Queen and Prince Henrik, besides being engaged in Royal duties, also worked together on several artistic projects such as translating Simone de Beauvoir’s book “Tout les hommes sont mortels” in 1981. Prince Henrik remained a loyal and staunch supporter of the Queen for all the years they were married. It was only during the last years of his life that things got somewhat out of hand. At first the Danes were pretty annoyed with him because of it, the whole being king nonsense, until it became known that he was suffering from dementia which had caused a significant personality change in him. When that became common knowledge there was no end to the sympathy and understanding that flowed from the Danes to the Royal family. He passed away a year after that. His funeral was public and attended by many people. Needless to say our Queen was devastated at the loss of the love of her life. They had been married for over 50 years when he passed in 2018. Yes, she did at one point smile right after the funeral service was over, but it was in appreciation and gratitude at the many Danes who had shown up to pay their respects, and not because she was happy her husband was gone as some ignorant commenters here implied. The Queen decided to abdicate her throne in January 2024 in favour of her oldest son, King Frederik the 10th. She was the longest reigning monarch in Danish history. And while we were sad to see our Queen step down, her decision was well understood and supported. Now she is enjoying retirement like any other elderly citizen in our country. And her equally popular son and his beautiful family has started their reign. Personally, I find the comparisons with the British Royal family deeply offensive. This is not a competition. The British Royal family are not the benchmarks for proper Royal conduct. Nor should their conduct be emulated by other Royals of Europe. As a Dane, I am intensely proud of our Royal family. And I’m annoyed at all these videos spreading obvious lies and fake news and at how easily a bunch of foreigners fall for this crap.

I have nothing against blended families, they take a lot of work and for the parents to be on the same page. Ive often wondered about the communication and effort that was put into Marius. Now, I know the answer, quick fixes. Im surprised he turned out this way because MM was mainly a stay at home princess. But im not really surprised given Marius parents past behavior. MM never really seemed fitted for the role of a diciplined crown princess, its not who she is. But she surely accepted the privileges that came with the role. I actually felt a little bad for thinking Haakon was making a big mistake by marrying MM. She always appeared uninterested In really taking on the role and just did enough to say she's doing something. I saw it all over her face, she was just happy her lifestyle was changing for the better.

Mette Marit son is obviously arrogant,self entitled, greedy narcissist who thinks he is above the law it’s about time he takes accountability holy cow he is 27 years old!! The fact that he calls himself a Prince when in truth he doesn’t have any title he is a commoner just goes to show Marius’s sense of arrogance and entitlement!! He is a druggie like his mother’s younger days he has been protected by Mette and now this is the result!! goodbye Norway monarchy!

I think Martha Louise is very generous to give up being Queen. They shouldn’t have given her the choice. She should have just become first in line and if she hated it she could abdicate.

I thought Marta Louise lost her HRH title when she married Ari Behn. Princess Ingrid is more than qualified to assume the Crown if Haakon turns it down. She's intelligent, poised, articulate and of unblemished character.

I read in a swedish magazine years ago that when asked about her marriage , she answered ”it is like the weather, it varies ” Beautiful photos in this video!

So is her son the king of Denmark now? Also, I agree with her husband that he should have been allowed to represent the monarchy instead of his son.
