Why would anyone ever do wisdom saves when you can try to bite Gale? I can't take durge Gale seriously but I am still enjoying my playthrough of it.

On my very first playthrough, this tav found Astarion and Karlach just barely in time for act II and I basically didn't use him until act III - because of that, we also missed out on our chance with Raphael in act II because he wasn't in my party. On this tav [Mack'Rel is their name] I went to the mountain pass on the way to act 2 to meet Elminster before I had given Gale all 3 magical items and this was the result, heavily edited to not be repetitive in his dialogue. And as a side note, in the mod I use, Mack'Rel is listed as locathah but does look more kuo toa- either way, funny fish friend deadpan staring is the highlight of my days p...

I wanted to find out what would happen if as dark urge you killed your romanced Gale before getting the charm from Elminster. Surely he could be revived??? Alas, this thought experiment was born and I did the work FOR SCIENCE. I am also using mods in this run, one of which gives me a better misty step, which is how I achieved this.

OK I DID SOME TESTING AND When you transform Astarion into ANY of the shorter races & then speak with him, he will look like a TALLER version. In the dialogue option "Hello, my dear" his form shrinks (I tested this outside of this video and it was the only time it happened in my controlled experiment). I can't stop laughing.

This should be the padded armor +2 which is in vanilla, probably in boreal blue. It IS possible I was using a Nexus mod with a slightly varied style or Basket's sorceror's blue dye more likely since this is an earlier playthrough! I am unable to load the game up to check currently, but I hope that helps!!

@@medjed_10c I actually don't know, I cannot for the life of me get patch 7 to load up and I haven't been able to set aside the time ;_; But I don't think it's been updated in nexus last I checked. I don't know if that's automatic it won't work though! Sorry I don't have more answers.

I can't even lie. I loved him since i frist recklessly walked up to the unstabe waypoint and freed him. My friend didn't even get to save before i reckless touched the damned thing. He wanted magic thing i would go as far to rob it from my friend, he had me smitten since first meeting. I don't think my friend overly enjoys my Gale obsession. But i could care less, Gale is a beautiful character.

I really enjoy romancing Gale. I only wish the magic mirror would let you shave his beard. I know a lot of people love his beard, and you're welcome to love it...but I'd rather not kiss someone whose face feels like a cactus.

My one, single complaint about the new "final" kisses is that he suddenly defaults to a smile at the end of them. It lessens the power of them IMO. But UGH THIS MAN DESTROYS MY HEART😭
You know what, I thought about this too and really liked the idea of the somberness throughout, but I also think Gale is nothing if not an optimist, and I think he also is the type to be strong for tav even if he is not feeling strong. So I guess in my head I kinda equate it to you literally telling him "hey this might be the end, we should have our final kiss" and the mental state for that to me, perhaps just my own lived experience, is that I'd never say something like that unless I was really feeling scared and unsure of myself/things. So there's a level of comfort in his smile as well.
@@lidlrini I agree, I think it's actually very in character for him. Throughout the whole game, he hides his trauma and fear behind jokes and smiles. This is the same man who was dead serious when confessing his love for Tav on what he thought was his last night alive, only to default to a joke moments later ("I could do more than woo you, I could wow you").
but it also makes hug kiss stand out because he /doesn't/ do that 😵💫
@@lidlriniyes exactly like I agree that it's performative but he's doing it because he loves you so much. and it's not like it's a complete invention, it does make him happy to kiss you. I kind of love it it's so bittersweet to me.

The Fantastical Multiverse mod, but they're redoing their models right now so kuo-toa (or as they are listed, locathah) and kobolds etc are not currently available.

What about the scenario where you accidentally kill all 3?
I started a second playthrough after reaching act 3 with the first one. In the first one, I was a wood elf and didn't romance him. In the second one, I am a Zariel tiefling and I do romance him. What you didn't show here, is that tieflings get a little bit of extra dialogue after he explains it was "Cazador's poem". It's something along the lines of "[TIEFLING] Why did he carve it in Infernal?" Astarion is surprised and I think he says something like "I don't know, the man's crazy".
Oh, that's because it's not strictly tieflings that get that dialogue!! I've gotten it with various races/classes. I wanted this video to focus on the differences between the party dialogues specifically.

Gale is the first romance of my very first durge (Resist) and now I can’t stress how much I love him.
The volume is way too low.
Damn the male love interests in this game could not be any more different, yet i find myself simping for each one. Yes, i came here for the hot, sassy vamp, but i stayed for the nerdy wizard and the awkward hero.
