    Did you top up the power steering fluid afterward? Does that system require bleeding? Thanks for the video!

    • @nsigarage5212
      @nsigarage5212 4 дні тому

      The power sterring fluid is CH11. doesnt require bleeding unless the system is really low or making noise. The best way to bleed it is to raise the front wheels off the ground and just slowly turn the wheel all the way left and right several times with the engine off. Check fluid level and it should be set

      @ thanks for the quick reply, I think it has fuel pressure I’m not really sure how to test that. I don’t have the gauge and stuff to check compression either. The car isn’t showing any codes and was running good it just randomly wouldn’t start after I parked it earlier the same day. I noticed the oil in ignition coils and changed valve cover gaskets and plugs thinking that was definitely the solution but it didn’t work

    Great video, it helped me replace my front diff on my RRS, on the gravel driveway in winter. I had lots of trouble splitting the front driveshaft from the front diff, so much so, the CV joint part of the driveshaft broke hammering it to split it. But a second hand replacement driveshaft was cheap. I needed to by a slide hammer and cv joint removal adapter to get out the half shafts, as no clearance to use a pry bar with the car on axle stands. I also had to loosen the steering rack 2 mounting bolts and move the steering rack forward to allow the front diff to mate with the front driveshaft on reassembly and then lower in place , maybe as doing the job on axel stands using a normal jack made it harder than on a ramp. But your article gave me the confidence to do it myself, many thanks.

    • @nsigarage5212
      @nsigarage5212 20 днів тому

      Dude thats awesome, way to get it done! Its cut out of the video, but i also hammered that front shaft to break it free. Did you remove the passanger side axle tube? I removed it when i took it out, but i installed it with it attached. Let me know if you need part numbers for seals or bearings. The bearing rebuild kits are missing the axle tube bearing. If you install a used one, open it up and check the bearings. The coating in the inside of the diff peels off and turns to grit so you want to scrape it out. Thats what kills these front and rear. Im currently editing a video on the rebuild. Also the rear removal/rebuild.

      @davidlees2431 20 днів тому

      @@nsigarage5212 Hi, I did remove the side axle tube before lowering the diff, and then installed the tube when the new diff was back in position. When buying the oil for the diff a UK ebay seller had a package that included the 3 seals ( 2 were britpart iems). I didn't replace the input seal to the diff as the replacement wasn't leaking and a rebuild of a diff is beyond my DIY skills.

    Hello, thanks for presenting. My 85 380SL has a different issue, it surges, meaning the car revs up and down, up and down as depressing the gas pedal. Cold starts are perfect, but 5 to 10 min out on the road and I can feel the surge...like someone is pushing the car from behind faster than am driving it ummmmm, ummmmmm, ummmmmm, ummmmmmm, ummmmmmm Then after getting on the highway, in about 10 min is gradually goes away. Arriving at the destination, everything is fine, perfect idle, but when I come back to leave that destination, the hot start issue happens...it takes 2 or 3 times before it will turn over. This can't be normal can it? So far my shop has not pinpointed the issue but it has to stop. It takes the joy out of driving the car. Thanks

      This sounds to me like it is fuel related. The whole fuel distributors like to go out over time. they are full of all kinds of Orings, valves, ect, that deteriorate. But once it warms up fully, it could be sealing up better. I would also be looking at fuel pressure, worn pump, clogged filter, but particularly for hot start i would look at the fuel accumulator (filter pump and accumulator are all together in a bracket under the back of the car) there is a pressure regulator valve somewhere on that assembly as well. The accumulator is also supposed to hold fuel pressure while the vehicle is off to help prevent the fuel distributor from vapor locking. Feel free to email me at nosleepinc2020@gmail.com.

I will mention all of these possibilities to him but I know I am ordering the accumulator as I feel that will solve the hot start issue. Saturday it cut off on me at a light, while in a hill in traffic 😮. I will have him check the fuel pump relay and the little silver box in the left front fender that controls the ignition impulses. My indy and I already discussed the idle mixture...whoever made adjustments on the car before I got it make too many so now the system may be off. I will keep you posted. Hello, I have a 2005 model Audi A6, 3.2 FSI quattro. My car has a problem. When I accelerate, the engine vibrates and the malfunction light comes on. Let me send you the error codes that appear on the screen when we connect it to the computer.

      The 2007 code is for the intake runners not operating, you need to check for a vacuum leak, or if the soleniod that controls them is bad, or if the flaps themselves are stuck or broken

    This is some of the best camera work on a repair I have seen. You understand what is important for us ametures to see. Even the little clip removal shots are awesome. You included all the steps in the repair without boring us with a lot of wrench turning. Your video skills rival your auto repair skills. Well done!

    The device says that is rated for 12v. If you have two 12v batteries connected in series, you can plug to the first one and still work in 12v. But what about 24v batteries? Have you ever tried it?

    • @nsigarage5212
      @nsigarage5212 5 місяців тому

      I'm not aware of any standalone 24v truck batteries, you would just attach it to the first 12v. But for serious HD Like that this pack wouldn't be the best solution. Our trucks are 3 12v in parallel. So 12v systems. And if it's stone dead I'll need to get it as close to the starter as possible.

    • @andrefcnc
      @andrefcnc 5 місяців тому

      @@nsigarage5212 It's not the most common, but here in Europe, some trucks have a single 24v battery instead of two 12v batteries. I was assuming that it wouldn't be the best idea, not so much for the truck, but for the device. For the truck the worst it could happen would be not being able to start it. Thank you for your imput.

      It's one of the easiest to get to so it makes it ideal to do last when the whole assembly falls out.

    Do you need to take out all the oil from your bigger oil resevoir that’s on your boat first? The hoses you take off the small oil tank when you replace it from the motor won’t leak out since the bigger oil resevoir that’s on the boat is filled up ?

    • @nsigarage5212
      @nsigarage5212 6 місяців тому

      You do not need to empty the large tank, the small tank is higher than the large tank so they will not bleed out during the repair. Also I have an update to the bleeding procedure, unscrew the cap once the lines are back on and pour in some oil. Put the cap back on, put some water ears on the engine and start it. With it idling, just crack the cap and it will bleed the rest of the air in the tank fairly quickly.
