After my horrific encounter with extreme racism in Poland (see last video) I decided to do some research. I had a chilling conversation with a normal-looking extreme racist in Poland today. I have LOVED my time in Poland, but this encounter really threw me. What do you think? Is this a common trend in Eastern Europe? Or was he just a random bad person? Why was he so bold and shameless in his racism? Am I right to take this as a sign that this is tolerated to some extent here and that he gets away w...

    I agree Columbus was not really a bad man that many , but not necessarily all of them,stupidly on the left paint him to be. You have to understand the mindset if that time. He was actually a religious man who never felt or purposely did any ill will on the natives. He too was a Spaniard, partly Spanish and Jewish probably but rather it was his counter parts politically, who were fellow Spaniards who gave him a bad reputation. Politicians like Kamala Harris look really stupid now for criticizing Columbus, Columbus Day. I tend to be moderate center left but Harris is something else

    All big capitals have the same issues with security, in Barcelona, Madrid, Paris, Miami, if you set foot in the wrong direction you'll be in trouble, however you will never see things happen like in New York, where a woman was raped in a subway wagon and people instead of helping her , decided to record the rape or streamlive it on facebook. 5 people were charged with a crime for not helping that victim. In Colombia that will never happen, people will help you and belive me the criminal won't go far, because they still have something called empathy, that many people lack in the U.S. I also live in a " bubble" in NYC.

      Hi there and thanks for your comment. We definitely disagree with you that crime is the same in any major capital. There is crime everywhere, but it’s different in terms of style and intensity. You’re much less likely to be murdered in a robbery in Barcelona than in Bogotá. You’re much less likely to be drugged and robbed in Paris than in Medellín. Los Angeles, for example, does not feel super safe and crime and shootings CAN happen. But the frequency compared to most Latin American capitals is less. And one major difference, in Europe, and the United States most major crimes are eventually solved, in Latin America, most are not. I do not think one country is overall better than the other, and I think things need to be compared on a case by case basis, but I have never accepted. This idea that all cities are the same in terms of safety, this is simply a dangerous miss truth, we need to understand the difference between cities. That’s why we make such videos. Thank you again!

    Yes, the construction standards in the developing world are a bit different. The building does not have the same ventilation system, it is done by each unit lol. I've been living in Richmond VA for about 12 years. I am from SOCAL and I grew up in the most racially and culturally diverse neighborhood in the whole world. The pictures from my school photos are like the United Nations photo. When the mobs started tearing down statues I was horrified. If the municipalities want to choose to relocated them off a main street, they can have that conversation. There is zero reason to allow cultural terrorists to destroy historical iconography. All it did was set back "relations" in the south another 20 years. And the racism here is horrible compared to where I grew up, but not even from the Caucasians as much as the African Americans towards them. I feel like I took a ride in the DeLorean from Back to the Future, and not to a great place. And the truth is that Central VA is better than many place in the US.

    I am an Australian of part-Polish descent and am noticing a lot of defamation about the Polish nation and its history. And, just which Poles helped the Germans murder Jews. There were no Polish SS or concentration camp guards were hundreds of thousands of Polish Christians perished. Poland had very few Nazi collaborators and some of these were Jewish such as the Judenrat, the Jewish Ghetto police and Jewish agents of the Gestapo known as Section 13 and Zagiew. However, some anti-Semitic Poles murdered Jews - often without a German in sight. Yet, despite a law, only enacted in Poland that sentenced anyone helping Jews to death, at least 100,000 Jews were rescued by their Polish neighbours. Don't get hung up on racism in Poland and complicate the issue based on anecdotal BS. And, why should people go beyond not agreeing with a racist to doing a critique on racist views? Does that infer a latent racist attitude by not criticising a racist even if they are not racist? If you look for racism you will find it. Your, country the USA is currently the most racist country on earth as evidenced by Trump being elected.

      If you watch the videos you’ll see that I spoke to way more than one person. And yes, the fact that one person felt so free to be so extreme in public with other people listening and to a stranger DOES show something about the atmosphere. The bigger question is, why is it more important for you to protect an image than it is to actually stand against extreme racism? How hard would it be to just say “what he said is wrong” and go from there? I’m shocked by the amount of people not willing to do that. It says a lot.

    Poland is not racist. I'm an American and been there and no they are not racist. You are an American and we didn't go through what Poland did with being taken over many times in the name of fascism and Communism. They see Muslims as just another Conqueror. They just got out of a bad situation just a number of years ago. You don't know much about history.

      @TobyNomad . No, you are willfully being ignorant on the subject. The issue now is of you don't do what the woke mob wants you to do you're racist, fascist, homophobe, islamophobe, a bigot and it goes on and on. I went into those Eastern Bloc countries after the way fell and it was like America back in the 20's. Very bad. They are not racist they understand the real intentions of people and them actually saying they will out breed westerners in their own country and take over. They literally say that. So, no they don't base anything on race they base it on reality. I've been to Poland many times and it's a great country and people. Been to Ukraine a bunch too and they are getting taken over too. Are they racist because they don't want the Russians in their country? You're deliberately being obtuse and know the answer. When everything is racist nothing is.

    According to modern science, currently there is only ONE race of humans - its called The Human Race. What is different between us is only the skin colour. So technically there is no such thing as racism.

    Polish people don't have a filter on their speech the way people in the West do, so they speak up their mind quite openly even if they know their opinions might be thrown upon. The bad news is that means people can share their blatantly racist views with anyone without thinking. The good news is those who share them are probably all the racists you can find there. You don't need to worry that someone is hiding some racist opinions while being ostensibly nice to others. Polish racists self-identify themselves by coming out of their racist closet uninvited.

    • @TobyNomad
      @TobyNomad 9 днів тому

      Hmmmmm. Interesting comment/perspective. Although I’m not sure I’m convinced. A non-racist should speak against such talk. You don’t have to censor it, just use your free speech to speak against it. Also, keep in mind, it’s not necessarily a positive thing having no filter on what you say. Sometimes it just means you’re the member of a majority group and you don’t care about how what you say affects minorities because you’ve never been one or cared enough to talk to one about how it affects them. America is sooooo far from perfect, but I think it’s a good thing that people are aware of how their words can hurt others who didn’t ever do anything wrong. It’s a sign of maturity to recognize people can be different and that’s okay too.

    Poland is not eastern Europe, neither it is Eastern Europe. Geographically it lies in the very center of Europe (continental Europe spans a lot to the east from Poland, check it yourself and there's a chance you'll be shocked) and it's Eastern Europe developmentally or culturally. Eastern Europe was a term started by Germans to denote all the less developed countries east of Germany that were under the influence of the USSR and after 1989 this was no longer the case for Poland, as Poland started decreasing the gap really fast and today it's as modern and as culturally elevated as whatever you can find in the West. Sure, we might not be as affluent as Germany, but we are getting there. We also have our problems, that's for sure, but calling Poland an eastern European country is either geographically wrong or brings about certain chauvinistic connotations that I don't think you really want to be associated with.
