That lady sounds like an absolute nightmare. Glad you're out of there!
Hi Shabs, I literally had the same experiance, College pushed me to attend Uni and I ended up leaving within 6 months! Thank you so much for sharing your story! I love your Open Uni videos thanks so much for sharing
Thank you so much for this, I have just joined OU on the same course as you! I am so using your tips!
This was V helpful, thank you x
I’m 37 and just about to commit to a degree but work full time. This video helped. Thanks
Small glass 👀😂
Too much lagging
Great vid! 👍
sis.. i study 7 days a week.. 9am-9pm........
At the ou?
@@rachaelparker3064 yes.
same! helps that I enjoy my studies! Going onto my 2nd year now x
most people at the OU also have to work full time, hence it being called an "open university". glad that you can study full time as it must be so much easier, but most can't
1 minute in, great video!
Thanks for this video. You have such great content that is so beneficial to students, however I wish the volume of the background music was a little lower as I really had to keep re-winding to make sure I heard everything. I am thinking to do two level 3 modules next yr with OU but think I won't cope as I have 4 kids and my little 3 year old is only part time in pre-school. If the current lockdown situation repeats itself.. I know I won't cope with all of them home-schooling.

Love watching videos about the OU. I'm in my first year of Early Childhood X
Looks like an interesting but I can't hear you with the loud background music. :/
thank you so much for your advice. i have definitely learnt something new and add new new questions to my list of questions to ask for when i move out :)
Thanks for the video, was really useful. I’m young for renting and I was wondering if the people that show us around in the viewing will take us serious. If they don’t want do we do?
Ah thank you! We moved out at 21 and my partner looks very young. In our experience we found that generally people took us seriously. There was only one occasion where someone was incredibly rude and didn't take us seriously and becuase we are petty we just avoided that estate agent. I would say just be upfront about your budget and honest about when you can move out. If you are worried about estate agents maybe have a look at the reviews for them before you go for viewings for your own piece of mind. It's also worth taking someone with you so you can bounce thoughts of each other 😊 good luck!
@@shabscorner2341 Thankyou that’s really eased my mind. I just hope it actually happens when we go for our reviewing
Your videos have been so helpful! Taking the OU plunge myself studying english language and literature
Ooooo congrats! I hope you enjoy your course I loved English language and literature at a level! Xd
@@shabscorner2341 currently I’m nervous and anxious about it!
Ah don't be nervous, you will be absolutely fine! You are always welcome to message me on Instagram if you need a chat. Are you studying full time or part time?

You have got a lot on your plate from the sounds of it but I promise you it is doable and you will be absolutely fine! X
Hopefully, once finishing and using a step by step approach and working backwards from the deadline dates, it can make it a bit easier to deal with and less overwhelming.
It can feel stressful, daunting at first when trying to catch-up and does require a lot of self belief and a positive mindset if anyone wants to be on track.
It is true, I prefer using the textbook learning materials first and then if needed, can research online and use other video or audio materials to give a bit more coverage on the topics to learn about.
Hi Shannon, your advice is helpful. I am currently doing a level 2 course in information, advice and guidance which is a distance learning course and is funded. I think first writing out the questions are helpful, especially any learning outcomes. That way when reading the learning materials, it becomes easier to make own notes and answer the questions quicker.
i dunno why but the potato peeler sent me 🤣🤣🤣😫😫
Starting U116 in Feb! thanks for the video :D
Great video. But also about the agent, it’s not always the agents fault. 9 times out of 10 it is usually down to the landlord being an eejit, but a courtesy email / call to you wouldn’t go amiss so you know it’s being dealt with somewhat (Coming from the experience of a property manager) ;)
Thank you for commenting. It is an excellent point. We are incredibly lucky that the landlord and estate agent we use now are both very good at communicating with us x
Hello there. Thank you very much for making this video and sharing your experiences with the university. I am going to be a law student with Open University in the new year, so this is rather informative for me. 💕
Your best scoring level 2 module and best scoring level 3 module goes towards your degree classification. (This may mean your level 2 C-19 experience wont affect you as bad as you think). Level 3 vs 2 is weighted 70% - 30%.
Ahhh, that's really interesting. Thank you for that. It's put my mind at rest a bit!
You have very useful study videos on your channel. Will watch out for your next videos.
Great video! Is there much maths on the psychology modules?
Thank you! There is a lot of statistics. In the 2 year which I found a bit tricky but not a lot of proper maths if that makes sense!
This video is so useful thank you!
You get microsoft free as a student and can save it to one drive :) Love your videos. Due to start in Jan with OU
Ooo amazing thank you for sharing!
Hello, love this video, very informative, down to earth and it’s made me even more excited for my course starting in January. I never had the opportunity to study further when I was younger, I promised myself one day I will! My daughters and husband have degrees so why can’t I!? Love your chatty style, so I’ve subscribed! ☺️ I also love knitting and collecting wool 😂 Take care Love Michelle 😘
That's amazing! Go for it and enjoy! Thank you for your comment it's very kind xx
Thank you for sharing, lovely. I'm just about enter my first year with the OU
Thank you for this video, it is very helpful... I am just struggling to be organised, something always seems pop up out of the ordinary but I do enjoy studying. I wanted to ask is it possible to do more than 60 credits as a part-time student using my student loan. As, last year I wanted to do 90 credits and I was told that I may not be able to get funding for it as a part-time student so have been doing 60 credits but next year I would like to up my credits. The advisor told me that ou was designed for part-time students but so many people are doing more than 60 credits. I am confused.
Hi lovely, that sounds confusing! I am pretty sure you could do 90 credits and use student finance. It's still classed as a part time tuition fee loan not full time. If you apply for 90 credits and then do your finance make sure to tick the box on sfe that says something about allowing them to adjust the amount you borrow. They should then cover the full 90 credits. I do 120 credits a year so I can't see why 90 would be a problem? You could ask student finance England? They are really helpful in the phone! Good luck!
Thank you so much.
Hey, just wanted to say that this was super helpful, thank you! I am starting a masters with the OU and began fully studying this week. These were great tips, thank you!!
Ah fabulous enjoy!
Great advice on this video! I’m about to get the final module result of my degree in a week. - Ou combined STEM. What’s your degree subject?
How much did you study ahead, between when the study website opened, to when the term officially started? 📖
Hiya, I went in and had a look at the module and worked out when things were due in but didn't actually start 'studying' until the term started x
Study ahead and don't tell your tutor incase they decide to withhold info from you in order to make you fall behind like mine did :) you never know if you're gonna get a tutor like that or a tutor who expects you to be ahead all the time

Oh you bloody gem, thank you for this! I started doing my psychology degree like 6 or 7 years ago but only did the first year as I found it hard with being back at work and having two young girls (one being autistic) fast forward now and I just re-enrolled to carry on finally but I remember how overwhelming I would find studying and just being generally useless at organising so I knew I need to get my butt in gear and get properly prepared for it this time lol. This has been a great help. Also how are you finding doing a 60 cred plus two 30 creds? I was thinking about doing this next year (depending how I cope with just the one 60 cred this year) as a way to reduce how long it will take.
It is hard I'm not going to lie! I found it easier to do two 60 credits over one 60 and 2 30s if that makes sense! A lot more to think about and it was very confusing at times. I hope you enjoy getting back into studying!
This is soo interesting, because I'm going onto my second year doing psychology with counselling with OU 💛
Ah lovely! Are you doing it over 6 years or 3?
@@shabscorner2341 I'm doing it over 3 years, this is my first vid of yours I watched, so you may have mentioned it before in other vids, are you doing it over 3 years too and is it a degree in psych or something else as well? 💛 Ps sorry for all the q's just happy to meet a fellow OU student! ☺️
I'm doing it over 3 years and it's just a bsc in physchology 😊
Super interesting to see what your 3rd involves!
thank you. I'm 47 and left school when I was about 14 with no GCSEs. I have just enrolled with the OU to complete an access course in sciences to go on towards a degree in science( biology). I am so excited and scared. but really looking forward to it.
That's amazing! Good luck! ❤️
I recommend using this course to gain credits to go to another uni tbh. The ou seem to prey on the 'access audience'
Thanks for the vid!!
THANK YOU SO MUCHH this video was so helpful definitely made me think of other things to factor in when moving out , hope your next property allows for an easier and better quality of life xxxx
Thank you so much 😊 good luck with everything x
