      Hi Paula, I have never had that problem. Here are a couple of suggestions. Make sure you have the arbor clamp the correct way round. Also insert a small Allen Key into the hole under the blade as you tighten down on the center Allen bolt. I hope this helps.

    My Workmate 300 has served me well for the last 45 years and still going strong! The only add on I made was a 48” x 30” x 3/4” plywood top with a 2x4 on edge in the center to be squeezed in place by the Workmate jaws. It became a light duty work surface that I used often and beyond its years! The updates to your Workmate 400 you made are good examples of what can be done. I do like the addition of the woodworking vise and the center filler piece since even though the Workmate already is a “vise” your update makes it a vise on a real bench. Plus there isn’t any need to remove the vise. I have also bought the lower cost Workmates to use as bench power tool stands, very convenient.

    Is the pump required because the blue barrels are higher than the red one in which case you could use gravity to keep all five full without a pump?

    • @BrightSparkIdeas
      @BrightSparkIdeas 4 місяці тому

      The outlet on all the barrels are about the same height, but the inlet for the blue barrels is 4 feet higher so gravity would not work. Also the blue barrels are located in a different part of the garden about 60 feet away.

    I have had one for over a year, and what a great help!!! The cuts are perfect (PCB designs), and I have the other one to cut aluminum plates for noise shielding so I do not have to be replacing blades. For what I use, it is great and amazing!!!! An idea to you, 😂Sr/ All, you can install a pedal (switch), so there is no need to use the switch in the saw. I also added to my little ones a little car vacuum activated with the same pedal switch, which works beautifully. You can get the mini drill also, just saying!!!😂 Great demo, Sr.

    Why did you join the vents together and make them so high? Is that another thing that California made a law about for collecting rain water in plastic barrels?

    • @BrightSparkIdeas
      @BrightSparkIdeas 5 місяців тому

      Hi Barry, I do not think it matters how high the vents are as long as they are above the intake, or if you join them together. For me joining them together with a single vent / outlet, acts as a simple overflow point. I am moving from California, so all my barrels are for sale.

    Do you manually change ac to dc or does it do it automatically??

    • @BrightSparkIdeas
      @BrightSparkIdeas 6 місяців тому

      Hi, I am not sure that i understand the question. The system via the Growatt's inverter is automatically taking DC from the solar panels and outputting AC, so not Ac to Dc. Happy to answer, if you want to expand on your question or watch part 2 and 3 for a better understanding of the system.

    The common blade you are using is good for aluminium. There is a better blade for the wood, that would be the rip saw blade. You will cut that aluminum like butter with the main blade you are using. I saw you struggled and thought you could not cut it. You can't with the blade you used... Also Make sure you turn up your voltage a bit on the power supply... This is a great table saw!

  • @undercoloroflaw

    I've been chewing on this little gem for more than a year. After watching this video...I'm leaning in to buy it. Being a woman, I'm not keen at all to use the table saw in the garage. Years ago I built a couple of bluebird houses. It was so much fun, I started getting creative and began incorporating the Victorian age embellishments. I bought dollhouse shingles from Hobby Lobby and they dressed them out really adorable. My bluebirds nested in them every year. Back then, I had someone that would cut the pieces I needed. Today, I don't have that. This looks PERFECT. I have the latest Circut machine but it will not cut balsa or basswood more than 1/16 thick so this would LOOKS like it would do the job and then some. I heard this mini table saw will cut up to 1 1/4 thick wood. Do you think it can?

    • @BrightSparkIdeas
      @BrightSparkIdeas 8 місяців тому

      It sounds like you are a very creative person, and this little table saw is perfect for creative hobbies. I purchased it to cut small pieces of wood and metal, and the jig you see in the video is for making repetitive cuts simple and quick. If you want to step up from the Circuit machine this will cut up to ½” soft wood without any problem. No, my little table saw would not be able to cut 1 ¼” wood for two reasons. Firstly, the blade height is only 5/8” so cutting up to ½” is no problem. Secondly it only has a tiny motor, and you could easily burn out the motor by trying to cut a large piece of wood. If you are looking to purchase one of these little table saws, check the maximum blade height as this will give you some idea of the size of the wood it will cut. Making birdhouses is a lot of fun, especially the ones I made with my grandchildren. I have a video on this channel of a large 24 room bird condo I made a few years ago. Let me know what you decide to purchase and how it works for you.

    I dont seem to have very much water pressure coming from a single barrel. Would it not be better to have a manifold?

      @BrightSparkIdeas Рік тому

      Hi, yes, I think a manifold is a good idea. I would have made a manifold for my system, but I wanted it to be easy to take apart and move. If you do not have much pressure, make sure the barrel is vented, also, pressure is going to be affected by the height of the faucet from the ground. I only use mine with a pump, so I have not had a pressure problem. You can watch my UA-cam video on my pump setup. I hope this helps.

    Is the pump inlet filter upside down? I have the same pump.

      Hi, I apologize for the late response to your question, but I just noticed your comment today. It’s a very good question, and my first instinct is to agree with you and say yes, it is upside down. The main reason I added it upside down in my design is that it is extremely difficult to check or remove the filter cup if I had it the other way around. Based on its design and the way this filter works I don’t really think it makes any difference which way you install it. For me I have very few particulates in the water that I am transferring from my catchment barrel to my storage barrels, and having checked it after every use, I find very little to clean out of the mesh strainer/filter. This might be because I am not using it correctly and I would check and see what works best for you. So, in conclusion, you are probably correct it’s upside down, but in my personal experience upside down works for me. Let me know your thoughts.

      Hi Niall, thank you I hope it was helpful. It works great here in Northern California for our chilly evenings.

      @@BrightSparkIdeas I'm in Dublin, Ireland. I haven't attempted the conversion yet but your video was a breakthrough for me. I have been searching the internet by component e.g. gas burner, element, fittings etc. Not really knowing what I was looking for and being unable to specify it. Ended up getting frustrated and lost down many an internet rabbit hole. Then one day I decided to do something different and instead described to the internet in simple English what I was trying do. I found your video which told me 1) it could be done and 2) describe how you did it. I cannot get the same conversion kit you were able to source but I could now describe it properly and have since found a source. So once again I thank you.

      @@niallreynolds5375 Niall, I am so pleased my video was helpful and you are able to proceed with your conversion. The one thing I would like to do but have not found the time yet is adding a push button igniter. There are some fancy key valve and push button ignition kits available here in the USA, but they are expensive. You can purchase Fire Pit push button ignition kits which look like the push buttons used in gas grills. That is probably the way I will go as they are only about $12.00 - 15.00. I would love to hear how your project turns out, so please keep in touch.

    My Victron was a total waste of money. Never again so I bought one of these. It works great. Much easier to use and way cheaper. Victron just like Battleborn and Renogy are very over rated. Paying more money isn't a sign of better necessarily. I have proven that in my camper build over and over. There are occasions that nothing else will do but rarely. Wago is an example and perhaps Mr Heater but a lot of this stuff you roll the dice. These cheap coulombmeters are a good example. Another is 8020 aluminium profile. A complete rip off. Tnutz is just as good and a fraction of the price.

      Even if you do the research, it is difficult to know if you are getting a quality product that will work in the way you intend to use it. So many fake reviews that it becomes discouraging. However, it is nice when you find good products that work as advertised. Thank you for sharing.

    Really awesome and informative video. Watching this and listening to you changed my entire plan of how I'm putting my rain barrel system in. Thank you.
