1 major negative (sadly) is Lenovo customer support is rubbish. 8 months since a driver update :(
Im getting the Ally X next month. I checked the Legion Go but it was just WAAAAAY too big for me. Its huuuge. So I picked the Ally X for portability, VRR, 80watts battery and 24gb RAM.

I feel like handheld gaming should become a focus for evolution in the industry now. With the switch I was shown promise of games like kingdom hearts on the go. Steam deck allows Halo on the go. The day a handheld lets me play something like final fantasy 7 rebirth on the go......peak gaming. Oh my goodness, I just thought. Bloodborne on the go 😍.

dont forget to update the onexconsole app. There was a update a few days ago on the 17th. The latest release allows battery limiter so you dont have to keep your x1 full at 100% battery if you plan to keep it plugged in for long periods of time.

I second any and everything said in this video. 😉 I was a preorder of the OneXGPU bundle, I paired it with a 4tb/64gb X1 8840u. It is now my daily driver for literally everything! I mounted a 32" Samsung 1440p monitor above my bedroom 50" TV so I can oculink into the OneXGPU and lay in bed with a lap desk holding a wireless mouse and keyboard. I love my X1!

Love mine but the battery life is shocking! I bought it to play on the go but you literally get 1 hour and 30 mins maybe 1 hour when on the go with top games. Which defeats the point of it. I end up playing it plugged in all the time which is an inconvenience and like I said defeats the purpose. But when it comes to the console itself it's 10/10 it's unbelievable just wish u could get more battery life

Honestly with legion go its perfect for someone who travels alot that prefers a gaming laptop feel like The only issue is just the battery lol But overall its very underrated because of the switch like feel. Honestly i choose this over ally x or steam deck both of those fan bois are ripping each other apart whos better or not 🫤

One has more ram more storage and more battery other one has larger screen and detachable controllers, i am performance oriented so rog ally x for me

I bought one a couple of weeks ago from eBay, second hand with 2TB SSD already installed, £500. Absolute bargain, looks brand new, and I'm amazed with how good it is. Far better than the Steam Deck OLED I sold to put towards it. I love the large screen resting on the arm of my sofa with the detached controllers.

Excellent job on the review. I always look for channels similar to yours to enjoy content being a casual gamer myself. Humorously, I was skeptical about GPD... I recently returned my Razor 16 inch laptop as I purchased the GPD Win Mini plus G1 Egpu. I was looking to upgrade. I was using an Alienware M17 which I still have but it wasn't portable for my liking. I tried a steamdeck but wasn't happy with it as it didn't run all steam games and to some extent seem limited as I wasn't diverse in Linux. I ended up selling that to pick up an ROG ALLY 1st Gen. Again ok, but without a keyboard Windows just isn't meant for handhelds in my opinion. I sold that one next and then decided to pick up the Razor. There was enough I didn't like about it that like I said made me return it and I stuck with the final purchase in my lineup which was the GPD Win Mini 2024. I've been extremely happy and will be sticking with this Company. It runs everything. With the hand grips it's more ergonomic. I can toss it in my bag for on the go or on breaks at work. Then hook it to the GPD EGPU for my station at home which then resembles a desktop. I do agree that the smaller would be better. Hands down again great review. I almost considered the Win Max but due to the size it was enough to make me question the actual portability, and usability of the device on the go. You got a subscriber, by the way.

I have a Legion GO was on a training course where I need a laptop and during the break I started playing Halo 2 campaign and a course participant asked me quite intrigued what kind of device it is.
If the Lego gets it's main flaws sorted with a refresh including the Ally X improvements then that'll be nuts.

Exactly. So many other choices available now and coming out soon. Technology moves on. Faster better APU models soon. No reason to buy at this at overpriced level.

Yeah, I ordered one from best buy for pickup because of the sale, the truth of the matter is I'm still not sure about it but just wanted to lock in the 500 dollar price. If i do pick it up rather than cancelling I have around 75 days to try it and still be able to return it since the Christmas return window is extended. I'll just be streaming games off my desktop/gaming laptop to it though so the potential upcoming upgrades are rather irrelevant to my use case and I will be able to take full advantage of the 1600p display. I basically just want it to play games in bed and when I'm camping in my RV. A full fledged windows tablet will also be nice just for browsing the web in bed.
The new one is not coming anytime soon. Probably in August 2025, and then it will cost at least 700-800$. So, better buy this now for $500.
Just got mine from B&H Photo for $499. The thing is amazing! Coming from a former Ally owner.
