Mustchero Grille, Gas Tank And Brakes
As we slowly progress on the building of Mustchero, we address the assembly of some of the front body with the grille. From there the gas tank is set up and aside from a few other things, the brake system is resurrected in its entirety, sparing the need for a full system rebuild. The progress continues, with Mustchero becoming more of an actual complete car.

1971 Mustang Coupe Ex-Donor Car Renewed
Переглядів 705Місяць тому
After changing my mind about cutting up this donor body to fix Truckstang 2, I decided to build this car back to a drivable car. Even though this car will be built back to stock levels, this car will be built with a twist: It's going to be built as a ute, just like Truckstang 2, with a few little differences. #automobile #diy #mechanic #mechaniclife #hotrod #mustang #mustangcar #ratrod #roadkill
Truckstang 2 Floor, Dash And Bumper

After a long break from working on this car, I decided to make some progress by getting a floor, dash and the rear bumper installed. While it's only a small part of the overall project, these things still go a long way towards making this car a real car again. #automobile #diy #mechanic #mechaniclife #repair #mustangcar #Mustang #hotrod #ratrod #bodyswap #frameswap
1994 Toyota Camry Beater Special

We were gifted another vehicle that was no longer needed in the form of an old 94 Toyota Camry that ran when parked. Unlike the false claims that this statement typically covers, this car did indeed run when parked. This car still needed work to make it better and street-worthy so it can be returned to service as another member of our automotive fleet. In the case of this cheap car, not much wa...

After rebuilding the Suzuki J20a Engine we picked up from a salvage yard, it's time to go ahead and swap out the old engine in the old smurf. As this is a RWD vehicle, the job is a lot easier than a car like the Scion Tc we did an engine swap on. With the fresh powerplant in place, the old Tracker can have a new lease on life and hopefully see more road for a good while. #diy #automobile #mecha...
Suzuki J20a Engine Rebuild

With the engine finally showing its age in the Chevy Tracker, we sourced a spare engine that needed a head gasket. Since it's gotta be torn apart I chose to rebuild the thing so we can at least say the bottom end is good to go along with the head gasket. With the aid of an online manual and some forum information, we're able to get this engine put back together so the Smurf can have a bit of a ...

1976 Chevy El Camino Project Part 10: Fuel, Engine, Exhaust, And More Interior
Good job Sir
Does anyone happen to know if its a little easier to.. A. Disconnect axles and pull entire drivetrain in one unit? Or.. if you have access to a lift.. B. Easier to drop engine/drivetrain out from the bottom after removing exhaust/axles??
6:50 there are two spots on the engine to put a hangar to lift the engine. 1 spot, in the front, above the exhaust manifold far left (passenger) side. 2nd spot, on the drivers side of the engine is above the transaxle , this one is really hard to spot.If you follow the ignition wire to the side, there is a hose that covers the second spot. You can buy the two hangars to lift the engine.First hangar 12281-28010 second hangar 12282-28010 bolts 91512-61020 total price should be less than $50. Hope this helps people.
Very helpful video thank you
I have a wire it’s a 6 pin and it sits on the drivers side of the cross member and I can’t find what to hook it to it looks like it goes above the trans
@@LILALBINOBOY was it ever set up for 4wd?
@ nope I unplugged it to take the cross member off to take motor and trans out just put another motor and trans in I’m done with everything exept that wire I did notice that my fuel gauge isn’t reading I had a half tank when I started a week ago and it’s on e with the fuel light on
@LILALBINOBOY I would see if there's a plug with another line branching off that has a plug to match up, the fuel sending unit and pump would be on the same plug but it could be some kind of feedback line for the ecu to operate the gauges. What about the speed sensor on the transmission? Is that plugged up?
thinks for the video man it helped me a lot
would the control arm make the car wobble at highway speed ?
@sksnnsksnsnsbsbb it could but typically wobbles are from a tire that's got a knot forming on the tread or is starting to deform some along the treads
@@TheImprovisationCenter got it thanks .. just that my scion wobbles during highway speeds, replace cv axle and bought brand new tires, still wobbles .. my next step is replacing bearings ... or the lower control arm
@sksnnsksnsnsbsbb could try jacking car off wheels and try moving wheel to see if there's any play in the suspension to see what's worn as well
@@TheImprovisationCenter yea i think i've did that but there's no play ... i had set up a camera under both tire and caught one side spinning not as true as the other one ... that is why i replace the cv axle and all tire but to avail... i do remember every time going down an off ramp to the freeway around those cirles bends , my car tends to shake more when it's leaning on one side while accelerating to top highway speed... car drives perfect under 50 miles per hour though...
@sksnnsksnsnsbsbb how's the rest of the suspension? Struts and the bushing mounts at the tops of the struts? If not that does the wobble seem to be felt in the steering wheel or does it just seem to resonate through the car? Just wondering if the rear suspension might be causing problems.
what was the reason and symptom ...
@@sksnnsksnsnsbsbb clunking sounds and play in the suspension when car was jacked up off wheels

Super! thanks for this detailed look at the process. Very helpful.
Great job. Good detail. Hope you find a more powerful power valve. I have CO2 bottle jammed in my 1077 and this will help me get it out. The bottle hasn't be removed in over 20 years. I inherited the rifle.
So dont need to take tires off? Just unplugged from the bottom ?
@@fredyaguilar763 yup, had to do a bunch of manipulating of the engine after separation from the transaxle to get it lifted from the top, car stayed on the ground.
Thank you so much, I really needed help. Thank you brother..Wade Out..
@@antoniowade3318 happy to help!
It's refreshing to see a diy working with what they have and outside in the elements..like most of us.
Just ran across the video...I'm in the process of upgrading my lights... any updates on the car? Also, did you LS swap the engine? Tks
@MisterAdam-jj5jv i hadn't fully committed to an LS swaps yet as it's one of those trends everyone had done, it's still got a plain Jane 305. I have to do a little freshening up on the old tub so it can hit the road again
Can you get extra mags to hold preloaded Rotary clips?
@cb3391 I found some on ebay and while back and I believe amazon has them too.
👍
I own an S10 everyday driver. 1998 S10 LS extended cab. His name is Willy and he has 440,039 miles and is still going strong.😊
@@charlesjohnson8226 they are strong trucks
dude Don't make a truck. Really, why does everyone think that looks good IT don't
@@brianbloom1799 It's better than letting cars rust away that no one else will mess with because of costs. This was a $500 body that would've ended up scrap if I didn't get it.
@brianbloom1799 And it's just an opinion that trucked out cars don't look good, those of us who do body/frame swaps love em, same as low riders and people who restomod cars with all kinds of stuff. Body swaps are just another category of old car building, not everyone is trying to spend $60k to build a car to stock, we'd rather build something unique.
They sell every part for all Mustangs, I can't stand parting cars Most People today only fine the cars for Money that's all That Matters, Me myself and I, Period
@brianbloom1799 I know parts are available for every car I've worked on, but not everyone has thousands of dollars or a whole resto shop to break down a car to reassemble it to factory standards. It's those reasons the classic car hobby has gotten ridiculous over the years because of people taking otherwise affordable cars and building $100k restos, making anything but junk unattainable for the average guy. The cost of the aftermarket does the same making those of us with lesser means have to resort to all kinds of backyard engineering something car we can enjoy from the junk we can afford.
Looking forward to seeing how it turns out 👍
do you do anything to prime the oil pump before starting it up?
@@joegadd no there wasn't any way to do so easily without open access to the oil pump, at least no way I know of. I just make sure to lubricate all parts well during assembly.
Thank you! I do a lot of ratting and go through one or two of these guns a year, but had no idea how to repair. Now I do, and the rats better duck and run!! Love my 1077s, do all I need without being too hazardous to the surroundings.
@RICDirector I do like the 1077 myself, it would be kind of cool to mod out that gun just for the fun of it all the way up to and including power mods. We'll see. As for the rats, drop em.
What material did you put on it before putting on the ceiling that looks like paste?
@olivahuerta6379 knowing me it was probably gasket maker.
This is a great video, the comedic value is making my attitude towards dropping my tranny easier.
@cheneyhwy4536 If we can't laugh at ourselves and crappy situations we would end up going nuts...then again some would think we're already nuts trying to fix some of this stuff, but that's cool too, I'd rather be nuts knowing I can take care of my stuff 😁😁😁
Thanks brother! This helped a lot! My 2008 tc POS thanks you!😅
Wrong buddy. The springy clamp is what you want 😂 Very helpful vid though
@@robbiexiong3508 i hate the springy clamps 😖😖😖
I just remove transmission mount and jack up with a flat piece of wood to not hurt transmission pan and done
@@fernandogarcia9634 I looked at that and didn't want to stress the other mounts jacking the engine/trans up without disconnecting them; it took less time for me to pull the pan than to disconnect the mounts and realign the powertrain to remount everything.
What coolant does the car take?
@edgardoestrada313 any coolant that's recommended for Asian vehicles, usually red or yellow, prestone has a number of selections. I use generic yellow stuff from AZ, at least when all is working and I'm not losing coolant, otherwise it's whatever I get my hands on until car can be fixed.
@@TheImprovisationCenter thank you got your self a new subscriber 🫡
Please let somebody tell me if there's a problem doing that thank you
On the passenger side of the lower control arm I jacked up the motor from the oil pan with a little piece of block of wood jacked it up till I had clearance to pull the bolt out as far as I know there's no problem in fact in fact I am in the middle of taking out the passenger lower control arm
@@josephscirica7222 standard and automatic transmissions are different. Mine had no clearance.
Hey chief, where did you get the lamps? I picked some up off eBay but they’re a bit short in the housing. The tabs at rear are shorter than stock so they loose in the housing
@johnnunez3451 mine were ebay specials as well, I can't recall the depth being too shallow. I'd hate to think that some kind of shim would need to be added to snug them up in the buckets...
Yea mine wayyy too Loose in there 🤦🏽♂️
@johnnunez3451 it's a roll of the dice with a lot of ebay stuff; close/ within range tolerances are always hit or miss.
@@TheImprovisationCenter yup. Gonna return those. Ordered some octane ones. By any chance do you know bulb type for hi and low beam? The kit I got came all the same
@johnnunez3451 from what I've seen the H7 bulbs are the 2 prong type. The H4 bulbs will fit but have a different layout where they use switched grounds with the polarized LED chips. Other than rearranging the wires on the plugs, they won't be a direct fit from my experience.
why did u replace the axel ? never mind , thks 😊
After how long do you put nutrients in water
@Ntobeko-l9q with greedy plants like tomatoes and cukes that are grown and producing I check every week or so, making sure levels don't go down to expose any more than a third of the roots. Even then it's just a small amount to keep the level in a mid range so the air roots stay exposed while the rest of the roots can drink. In a pinch I could go 2 weeks but would have to keep a portion of the roots underwater and not let everything go dry. Can't submerge too many of the air roots.
No torquing the spindle to 150 lbs????
i know this is an older video, i hope you are still active! do you have any tips on getting the axle out? i have been beating this thing with the intermediate mount loose for hours. wont budge. were there any special clips or anything to release it?
@@izacgaetaniello1008 I think at one time I used a slide hammer with a horseshoe piece for breaking the axle free. I had to "modify" the piece to make the opening wider to fit around the body of the inner portion. It was a pain.
@@TheImprovisationCenter gotcha. i have the same slide hammer piece. did you put the fork attachment behind or in front of the engine block mount
@izacgaetaniello1008 I had to use it on the drivers side but I put it on the large knuckle piece right where it sat in the transmission. I'm not sure of the clearance on the right side but I would like to think it should be achievable

Love this. Repurposed everything!
i wish i saw this video sooner
I just purchased the 1077 about a week ago and the magazine doesn't seem to be turning the clip all the time. The clip spins fine by hand, but If I manually pull and push the lever in the back of the magazine in and out, the clip will turn to the next slot, but sometimes it will only move partial then slip back. This explains why it'll misfire or I'll end up with 1-3 pellets left sporadically in the clip. There are a couple screws on the side of the mag, so can it be safely taken apart without springs flying all over the place?
@nyrainman4897 I never broke down the mag itself. I'd hate to think a newly made mag is being made by lower quality standards compared to those of 25 years ago. Did you try another rotary clip to see if maybe the problem lies there? Since everything's plastic near as I seen, the lever that advances the clip is probably damaged or just not long enough to grab the teeth on the clip.
Do you recall what brand ball joint you went with as the replacement?
@scrapenbass493 I went with generic off of ebay, had decent luck with em
I just got the 1077 and not even getting 24 good shots before the co2 runs low. I do notice during each shot a white spray coming out the barrel, as well as both sides of the magazine. Is this normal or part of the problem?
@nyrainman4897 there would be a little co2 blow by between the magazine and output of the valve. Main thing is asking sure no gas is heard hissing from anywhere between shots. I can see only getting 24 good high powered shots on the high powered version of the gun. The valve I installed ended up being the weak sauce version that gave me velocities comparable to a co2 pistol so the co2 cartridge lasted longer for me.
