Sheelagh Gilbey - be still, my beating heart.
Remember watch these great science/geography/history shows in primary school! We always had a written test after every show! The good old days!
The Parade looked pretty busy back then.
I just saw this on my cable TV a few mins ago on bbc2
Place is a shit hole now
Now the Turriffs Ind Est. I played in the ruins of the cold store as a kid, who lived on Eastley Crescent.
This piece of music and animation has influenced everything I have ever produced since!
That's rather brilliant :) Definitely seeing and hearing it in your content on your page!
Ting boys are coming to Leamington more than ever before and it will lead to the eventual Coventrification of Leamington.
Zig Zaaaaaag! Zig-zag. *In a Peter Griffin voice *
Year 2012 here
nice place.what's the best time of year to visit?
Can't believe I left there in 2017, I'm 17 now and life is starting to set in. Wish I could go back to those days 😪
Loving the men having a fight on the zebra crossing at 26 seconds in!!!
haha that's the hometown i know and love.we're the barmy south town army...
Lol that's the real leamington during the 70s and 80s
In 1984 as a 8yo I remember this, was it zigzag that had a series within it that had an alien from space chasing children, he was called the thin man, am I right or wrong?
That sounds like The Boy From Space - it was part of the Look And Read series.
I was 10 when this was posted
bring back the zebra crossing lol
MAYBE U WANNA SEE THE MASSIVE FIRE OUTSIDE RN AND START RUNNING
Omg! Primary school days! I almost feel sick thinking about the time that’s passed! How can I be 38 already 😫😫
Maybe nice back then. Now omg
Having lived here for 20 years, in my opinion, race relations are very good especially between the white and asian communities. Never seen or heard any racism.
just because you haven't seen it doesn't mean it isn't there
@@brooklyn23896 this is true, and of course there’s covert racism. Let me rephrase that, never seen or heard any overt racism.
Love this. I was born in Leamington Spa. 💕💙💚❤️
Me too!
Same
Nice find xx
Love this xx
I'm from Warwick thanks for this xx
I've heard the council may be knocking this down, anyone know anything about this?
True. Plus I was told this is where tgey home druggies. Effectively putting them in one place. I dont live far from this place.
i live there and that's bullshit..
i think i commented in wrong comment.the bit that we all are druggies .like any area in the uk..drugs are about
This was said a good 10 years before you posted :) it's still there
It's gone downhill. They all vote labour.
Shut up
I prefer the parallel universe version 'Giz Gaz' which is a social commentary on Thatcherism
Just one of the rough areas like most towns, windmill road had a bad name once, just poor families and miss managed kids , some things never change?
1:56 i was in that class room in p7 in 2017 i was in das
are you still in das? for high school .
@@catbx3894 I'm 18 now, and i have left high school
Does anyone have any info on the history/creation of the theme tune?
Agreed I loved it as a kid. I hear Casio but its deffo a combination of synths.
I had a look but found nothing.
In the 40s, 50s and 60s Leamington also welcomed a lot of Irish people too. It's still not a bad place to live.
Smack, crack and Special Brew.
Im in year 5 right now in that school
Goodness me, I used to live in Leamington until the mid seventies before moving to Holland where I’ve lived for the past 42 years. It brings back a lot of warm memories. I remember the parade distinctly and Burtons, the tailor, just across the road from the interviewer. Upstairs was the snooker room and on the top floor “The court School of Dancing” where I had Ball Room and Latin American lessons. It was run by Chris Clark. I met my first girlfriend there. Fine memories.
Ah, good old Bishop Odo. Or Bishop Odour as we "hilarious" kids used to call him... I wonder if there's a whole episode of the "Normans" Zig Zag anywhere. Glad this one kept the song in, though!
Isn't that when England last won the World Cup?
England where's that 😂
Think the goodies had one of them
i was a trouble maker at the time. i used to throw stones at the windows and stuff
me to bro
i went to this school many years ago. i am now 30 years old. i lived in crosshill at the time.
953rd birthday of 1066 yesterday !
is that all that? Wow not so long ago then, the dinosaurs have been gone longer but they'll be back Someday I think mahahaha Zig Zaaaaaag Zig Zag
"1066, 1066, 1066 at Hastings" - Oh how classic ! As a kid I'd feel all bold and macho singing that; now I realize just how Monty Python it all really is !
I go that school but 2019
Is it really bad around there these days?
missvulcan Yes!
yes
I remember some of these buildings that are still here in 2019.
Thank you for sharing , Warwick castle is one off my favourite castles , and even though I recently asked for the dvd off “ the Black Rose “ and watched the film , I had not realised that it was partly filmed at this magnificent estate thanks again for sharing, Yours sincerely , Grahame Prince
I went to both the infants and Junior schools there. Left in 1985 to start secondary school in Streatham. Happy times in that school back then.
my old landlord balraj dhesi gets interviewed here. owned sa lot of proerty in leam and was both a good landlord and positive influence
Dark, bleak times.
Wasn't all bad - there was free milk!
When they would bring the big telly on the wheels in and put this on! Memories
Kids these days take every things for granted...no waiting for the big tv
Yep...usually a big telly with fake wood pattern on it! Looked like something that came out of the ark. Happy days!
Yep
It would always take ages to get working if a VHS video was involved.
INTERESTING CONTRAST BETWEEN THE FUTURISTIC AND THE MEDIEVAL
hahahaha very true :)
I know - always wanted it to be something futuristic, but was always disappointed when it ended up being about history, and educational and stuff!
