Trying out the coaching rake with mostly Accurascale Mark 2B coaches and three Bachmann Mark 2As. This locomotive had been intermittently shorting, which turned out to be a loose pickup wire touching the chassis on certain curves and "humps" in the track. This viaduct was built from a laser-cut wood kit from Key Publishing/Hornby Magazine, and replaces a stone Wills viaduct. The Wills viaduct will be reduced in length and will eventually replace the hotchpotch of brick bridges and placeholders on the right of some of the video shots. A friend brought along his two new GWR models to run them on Newton Broadway (he doesn't yet have a layout). Both are running straight out of the box, so are commendably smooth running.

A brief demonstration of the Cavalex class 56 with their factory-fitted sound. I have remapped some of the function keys to suit my own preferences, the most significant changes being the brake on F2 works without F25 being on, and the tail lights now have to be deliberately switched on, using F20. The last stop shows one of the fans spinning. Apologies for the slightly shaky camera work.

Running the Bachmann EFE Rail/Kernow Model Railway Centre Southern "Booster" Co-Co locomotive with a reasonably appropriate train around Newton Broadway.
