Saw Dio his first Black Sabbath tour in 1980. Assholes walking around with a sheet that said 'Ozzy Rules.' Dio's performance convinced all that he was more Sabbath than all of us.

I miraculously bought tickets off two guy that said - I hope someone cool doesn't show up. It took a second for the rest of the hall to realize what was happening because the video feed was off when Paul first jumped on stage. And Ringo had already left the stage but then he whizzed back on and scrambled up to his drums just as the song had started. I was transfixed. I agree the screams and cheers and just general energetic buzz was off the charts. Afterwards I was in a bit of shock with a huge grin and then just lost it and started crying. Haha like those girls in the old Beatlemania videos. It was just the most fabulous moment.
