    what equipment sdid you shoot this beautiful video on? (if it's an iphone which model) and did you need a mic? Any suggestions on which wbesite to use for the night of accommodation on this trail? I'm really struggling with the booking system. Yamatan does not allow me to get through to the page where you choose your bed and pay etc.... it looks like a bug. did you notice what happened to the hikers who could not book a room - did they really spend a night outside?!

    Thank you so much for your videos, they're perfect - short but densely packed with info so I can just pause or go back to write something down. I can tell we have very similar tastes as half your list was already on the top of my list to try! The other 6 I just hadn't heard of. Looking forward to my visit soon, and I'm sure it will be all the more enjoyable because of you. Question for you: I've been seeing so many delicious strawberry things to try, I may be exchanging my chocolate addiction for a strawberry addiction on my trip - is it just a seasonal thing that these bites are so abundant, or are most of them available year round? Thank again!

    there's sound issues. I would recommend splitting the output of dji mic and making two mono tracks, the per mic channel is for individual adjustment for each mic but then you need to flatten each track to mono to avoid the issue of each mic in one ear only

    i had a vegan monk ramen in pontocho alley last year that was absolutely incredible, best ramen bowl i ever had because it has a ton of veggies and beans and it really blew my mind the flavor profiles and combos that i never had before. It was called 'original kyoto ramen' on the northish part or top of pontocho alley

    Hello Amber, sorry to put a question on an old video... I'm in the final stage of my Aeon application and I'm really excited for it. I just want to know how long the visa granted is, and if it extends beyond the contract. Is it a 1 year visa that will also be renewed if you extend the contact, or longer?

    • @ChefinJapan
      @ChefinJapan 16 днів тому

      Hello! I’m not sure if it’s the same for everyone, but the visa I was granted was 3 years and it is possible to renew if you stay longer. Best of luck with the application! ^^

    Good starting point on your emergency kit. I would add a hard hat, signal mirror, headlamp, a bandana, a first aid kit, a power bank, etc. In my emergency kit, I also keep playing cards and other entertainment items for stress/anxiety relief. I do have clothes in my go bag, not in my survival kit bag.

    Hello! I feel so overwelmed and I don't know where I should go. I would love a place which is slow but has many job opportunities. I don't have a specific degree so I am aftaid if I don't go to Tokyo I wouldn't find a job which gives me the opportunity to stay and live in Japan. Could you give me some advaces on what you suggest?? Thank you 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

    • @ChefinJapan
      @ChefinJapan Місяць тому

      Hello! If you don’t yet have a degree I recommend applying to schools in Japan, they have some English speaking ones or you can attended a language school for up to 2 years to study Japanese. Unfortunately a degree is required for the work visa though :(

    I was teaching back in 1995 , at a small independent eikaiwa, for 3.2 million yen per year and a subsidized apartment (45,000 per month). After a year I had overtime for another 40,000 a month and the apartment was fully subsidized. But still….. that was a step down for me as a Canada high school teacher. Yes the responsibility was less and there were no report cards or parent teacher meetings etc. Now here we are 29 years later and these Japanese companies are still offering the same low pay. Prices have gone way up and the yen is much lower to most currencies. So I feel that teaching English in Japan is no longer worth it. Not by a long shot.

    • @ChefinJapan
      @ChefinJapan Місяць тому

      Omg it was so much better in 1995! Salaries have sadly mostly gone down from that 🥲 I still do think it’s worth it for people who really want to move to Japan though. It is a good foot in the door and once you’re here and have a visa it will be easier to find the next full-time job since most companies only hire people already in the country. You’re totally right though, Eng teaching here is def not a good long term gig :(
