A couple of fixes and my opinion on this car.
Things left to fix on the C5 Corvette (few mods in the wish list)

Just an update on the C5 Corvette, still a few things left to be done. Let me know if I should go with side skirts and front splitter or just leave it as is?

These are some of the common issues you might find along with some more. Nonetheless, no issues are too big, you can get them all fixed. Finally, I decided to share my C5 Corvette after owning it for 5 months. It was a tough journey as I was planning on selling it due to soo many issues. I ended up restoring it and it was worth every penny!

I am waiting on delivery of a 2002 black on black from Michigan with 65k miles, no accidents, bought sight unseen. Will take to Lexus mechanic immediately for whatever it might need. This will be my 3rd SC430, can't wait!!!
Thats awesome! These cars are definitely classic gems!
Some say this is ugly others say it is beautiful. I think it is a beauty. Getting a black on tan tomorrow myself.
I agree!
Be open to the snow and salt on the road! Gravel is awful.
😄
Why do Corvette's look SO good in yellow?!
"Not a very good looking car, but people like it" Almost like they think it IS good looking, imagine that?
Yeah, everyone has a different taste.
I still say the C5 is one of the nicest looking Corvettes ever and I'm a big fan of the hidden headlights I think that's where that hurts the latest Corvettes it just you think of Corvettes you think of the hidden headlights it's sad that they don't have them anymore that's the mistake that Chevrolet has made. Heiden headlights in the new vets I think they would look awesome with hidden headlights
I agree don't ever apologize for that it's a beautiful car man. If you're a Corvette owner your Corvette and we're lucky and fortunate to have on Corvettes so don't ever apologize for something like that it's a beautiful car man
Beautiful car dude
Your car looks great for 6k...you should see the trash they try to sell in SoCal for 6k...nice SC!!
Yeah its hard to find a clean example for $6k now.
ua-cam.com/video/_V7EGrfbOd0/v-deo.html
what exhaust is that? sounds great at idle. Is the car engine stock besides the exhaust?
Can i buy it from you
Sorry brother, this car went to Cananda.
Bro what was the traction/abs light on again???
Knock sensors are under intake manifold. Not a quick job.
You are right, my brother was able to tackle it right away.
Your car is good don’t worry about it it’s a C5 enjoy it
Most owners I've talked to feel the run-flats compromise handling, and compromise comfort even more which contradicts its "luxury cruiser" classification. I replaced them with some nice all-weather, Michelin radials and sacrificed the 50 mile+ capacity to drive on a flat to a shop. There's a fair chance that the damaged run-flat cannot be salvaged after a 50 mile trip anyway, especially if it sustains sidewall damage. Now, in the event of a flat with no room for a spare, I have AAA, and from what other SC430 owners tell me, they seem OK with that. I would avoid driving in areas so remote that phone service could become an issue. After making the switch, there was no debate. The improvement in handling and comfort was well worth it.
You are right! I hate run-flats as well!
Yeah man drive it in doors
😄
I have a 2001 with 40k miles and the car is amazing! No problems ever. I get compliments everywhere I go. Best sports car for the money.
Love my 01 yellow targa. people may hate on corvettes/corvette owners on the internet, but it turns the heads of every Lamborghini and Ferrari owner when I drive by.
"In Florida, they don't care" 😂😂😂🤣😂
Yeah tell me about it. People drive their cars like toasters.
Oil pressure sensor is no big deal. It's showing a false reading on the gauge but the actual oil pressure should be in normal range. The ECMB module is another story. 97-00 model years got a crappy unit that is basically non-repairable. They cost almost 2 grand for a used one with a 30 day warranty. 01-04 got a much better unit that can be repaired for a few hundred bucks. The good news is you don't need traction control or ABS to enjoy the car, you just need to be more careful.
Your cars better than mine, your jobs better than mine, your girlfriends better than mine.....Man, my life kinda sucks :-)
I own a 2004 Lexus sc430 ,in Tokyo. Drove Jaguars , BMWS before…I laaaaave this car. Even if I change I will just buy a newer one.
Thats awesome.
Don't apologize about anything. No need to.
Might do another round of buffing? Not after ceramic coating it you won’t unless you strip the ceramic coating you can’t get to the paint.
Hello, I am in Winnipeg Canada and looking for 1 of these. Could you negotiate 1 for me . Hard to find one with kind of mileage that is not rebuilt.
Yes, these are really hard to get for this price. I got lucky with this one.
I have a 2002SC430. W 42k. It’s terrific the enterior is superb The car drives like a dream .
Great! Hope you are still enjoying it.
You have a corvette be happy damn what tha f bro. You G
Hey my brother trust me you got a good deal ignore all the cosmetic stuff this car will hold its value for a very long time. Where in Canada does your brother live I got lots of family out there
Thank you. He is in Ontario.
Never apologize
What seats are those
You have to expect minor items on a car of this age, the brakes are not expensive to fix and the roof is aluminium, by the way. The interior is very durable the driveline is near bullet proof and extremely smooth and will cover very many miles. These cars are luxury cruisers . Mine is a weekender, and many times I will return from a drive, and then take it out again, just for the pleasure. I suggest you fix all the items that are not quite right, as the car deserves it and as they are rising in value you will get more than your money back.
You are correct. My brother was able to fix all of this for cheap. He still enjoys the car till today.
Dope color!🔥🔥
Did you get the brakes fixed? That's kinda irresponsible to be driving with bad brakes.
Yes, they were fixed right away. I agree with you 100%.
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
timing belt and water pump replacement due 150k miles
Great car, congrats! I love the SC430! I own a 2004 SC
Thank you. COngrats to you as well!
@@motornut thank you!
Wow - you're such a nice brother. I wish my brother and I got a long that well. But he's not that nice. Looks great! Sounds like the previous owner(s) did not take very good care of it - some neglect. - but I think that was a good deal Oh - it's windshield btw.
Thank you. Yes, the car was neglected and I was able to get a good deal. My brother cleaned it up and loves it.
One of the best cars in the world, bulletproof. I have same car with 280,000 miles. Only timing belt, oil changes and brakes.
that is cool
This guy stole the car from the previous owner. Worth 12k, and he paid 6k.
@@dfj555 Yes, you are right. I tried to find another example like this but prices were crazy!
Thats amazing! These cars are tanks!
Picked up a 2006 last summer with 130K miles. Great condition. Love it!
awesome! I picked up a 2004 with 134k miles last summer :D
@@RevLexus I know man. I've watched your videos :-)
Congrats. I hope you are still enjoying the car!
@@motornut Sadly I sold it about a year or so ago. It was needing some repairs (nothing major) that I didn't have the money for. But for the 3 years I had it I enjoyed it beyond words. One of the best vehicles I've ever driven.
Nice car 🚙 I’m looking for Corvette in Florida, can’t find good deal
termostat?
Do you have a link or name to those seats?

Nice find! The exterior does look a little neglected, but the inside looks amazing. I have a 2006 Silver one that I just finished repairing after buying from a salvage auction. It's got the ecru colored leather inside, so even minor damage is VERY noticeable. I've only been able to drive it for a few weeks now, but LOVE it. It's a great Luxury cruiser. Yours might be slow off the line due to the knock sensor. This car is good for 0-60 in under 6 seconds when in good health. For the bubble in your rear package tray, an easy fix is to prick it with a fine needle and press it down to let the air out. Also, your roof is making some rubbing noises when opening. I recommend lubricating it a bit to reduce stress on the motor and prevent failure in the future. For headlights, I recommend putting some sealant on it (usually part of a headlight restore kit). When you buffed it, all the remaining protective coating was removed so it will fog up again in a few weeks to a month (ask me how I know...). Just wipe on the sealant every month or so with a cloth to keep the lights mint, as it will wear off like car wax. I've heard clear coating the headlights is risky. If it starts to peel or is damaged, it's very difficult to get off.
Nice car! I can tell it was repainted because when you open the door up all the rubber was painted over which is not factory. Did you paint it yourself or did it come like that? Thanks
Beautiful design. Hidden head lights along with the Oval tail lights a plus. This is Corvettes identity!
dude. don’t apologize because your car isn’t as good as theirs. makes no sense. it’s your car. if you like it, then great. it’s a corvette dude. all of them are great and perfect in their own way. i think your car is great. keep up the good work.
As soon as I heard Tha 💩I skipped the video 🙈
I know why he did it though, to pre-empt all the trolls. He was being a bit sarcastic without sounding like it. Nice video, well shown. What's your exhaust brand?
