As much as I wanted Vi to fix her relationship with Jinx throughout the show, it was Caitlin's relationship with her that I was rooting for to win. With Jinx, Vi will always be the parentified sibling who has to deal with obsessive love. With Caitlin it is a way healthier relationship where both of them protect eachother. Seeing the new season trailer has me a little scared 😢

i hope so much that VI doesn't mess up her relationship with Caitlyn! she is damaged too! maybe not as much as Jinx but she has her own issues!

What I got from this specifically is that yes Vi is a dam filled with water, her feelings being the water and the dam being the walls Vi has put up around herself as a way to protect her emotions. Everytime something has tried to break down her walls she only fights back and rebuilds her walls stronger so that the next time it doesn’t work as easily. Caitlyn is just what she needed, that something that showed her care and genuine interest in her. Enough to allow Vi’s dam to break and let her pour the water, her emotions and personal feelings and experiences to Caitlyn. Vi is a Dam, Caitlyn is the something that crashed into it and broke it down in a way that allows her to feel safe and vulnerable.

Very excited for the upcoming season of Arcane, and similarly excited to enjoy your very fine explorations of its content and characters. I really hope they pull off season two!

you clearly dont play the game but Caitlyn and Jinx are actually counter adcs....which means that they are legendary enemies....final showdown wont for sure be between Vi and Jinx...Caitlyn probably loses herself in revenge and wants to kill Jinx soo badly that she loses herself and hurts other people along the way , i always hated the character...she is just a nepo baby for me, none of these characters are "good" they are all bad....you will see how Vi turns out aswell...thats the point they are all bad characters basically...few exceptions but mostly bad , league is afterall fighting game where characters kill eachother also no you get it all wrong....Vi will never stop loving Jinx....its her sister, she tries to look angry and she probably called her Powder 100 times and didnt get an answer so she called her Jinx....Cait wants Jinx dead...Vi doesnt and that will definetly be the conflict between them

This scene really gives me vibes of the Griffith and Charlotte scene right after he loses to Guts and in his mind just lost the only person he ever viewed as a friend. As he does his thing with Charlotte he is just picturing losing Guts losing to him and him leaving and saying good bye.

i see 2 options: 1. Vi stays with Jinx in Zaun. I kinda see that option but i dont see this eather. Vi and Jinx has changed a lot, they are not the same. They are different people, they can not live togehter as before. I dont think Zaun can accept Vi after she became enforcer and she helped Jayce in s1. I think she doesnt want to live in Zaun too just bcs it doent feel right. Sisters are togehter - but for me it is not the same. Jinx maybe finds Powder inside but she is not That Pow-pow she was before. She has some humanity. Vi can not find in Cait Cupcake again. 2. Vi is with Cait. Jinx cant leave Zaun. She is the leader and she has some people to protect there. We can see little girl that looks like her. Maybe she is a „Silco” for that little girl? Jinx and Vi are sisters - they just leave in another cities. They love eachoter but they are not the same anymore. Vi loves Cait and she want to be with her since they were together in their lowest. Cait could pull good from her and she did same thing for Cait. Vi fits to Piltover. It is better place for her to protect people. To protect Zaun. To protect Cait. Riot said that this season is about forgivness and war. Ending will be bittersweet for sure. There is no happy ending. I feel like happy ending will be when Vi, Cait, Ekko, Zaun, Piltover leave togheter in happy home with poro. We wont get peace between Zaun and Noxus, everyone cant end together. Someone has to be left behind - Jinx or Cait. It would be very disapointing if Vi and Cait wont be endgame. They are icon lesbian couple in game. It would be very supportive for lgbt community to keep them together since there is not a lot of gay couple with happy ending. They had so much chemistry togethter, well written relations. It would be very disapointing to just pass. Few days ago arcane leaked 50 sec of new song for arcane. It is made by queer, lesbian artist. If it is not for boombayah scene for CaitVi idk what is this. They already traumatized us by fruity scane between Mel and Jayce. Riot it is time for payback!!! I think they will end up togehter. I really dont see Jinx and Vi living together after all this years. I think they will end up togehter. If they wont i feel like they will confirme their love to eachother, had boombayah and they split up in good relations sice Vi wants to be with Jinx.

Actually I’d argue caitlyn is almost as essential to the plot as every other main character solely for the fact that without her vi would’ve never been released from Stillwater, Marcus would’ve never been outed as a dirty cop and silco would probably still be alive negotiating with the council

I have a strong feeling since the end of the bridge fight between Ekko and Jinx that in Season 2, Ekko will reach out for his childhood friend once more. Ekko told Vi, That Powder is gone, and yet at the end of the fight between Ekko and Jinx, they both see each other as if it were for the first time in years, Both of they're eyes were conveying so much. Ekko saw Powder and Jinx saw her only friend that she only has good memories of, the only one from her past that does not torture her mentally,like Mylo does. I think it was at that moment Ekko realized he made a mistake, the mistake of thinking there was no Hope for his friend. The Creators of the Show said that Season 2 will be a season of opposites, so I take that as, Those who had hope for Jinx in S1 will have none in S2 and those who had none in S1 will see Hope for Jinx. Vi will most likely say that her sister is gone, Ekko will reach out to Jinx and bury the hatchet. I think at some point they will give Jinx the Han Solo treatment, The Criminal turned Reluctant hero arc. I just can not see her be the villain in every ACT. Arcane I think will give us twists and turns and larger threats,most likely.

I did see Jayce & Caitlyn’s relationship like siblings more than anything else, I don’t think Jayce had I’ll intent after Caitlyn’s ever controlling parents got her fired. I do think Jayce what is legitimately trying to help. Mind you if I were Jayce after offering her a backup job,I’d let her use that new position to do her detective work, not just sit behind a desk. So she’s more of a detective than anything else,she has disobeyed her superiors on multiple occasions. As Marcus put it, “She’s a Kiramman, just like them she does as she pleases, I can’t control her”. So she should be a better private investigator, where she doesn’t have a superior other than the counsel.

I love the slow burn of cait and vi and how jinx fits into it but I’m gonna need that slow burn to move a little faster 😭

2 years later and I've been rewatching everything since s2 is just around the corner and something I noticed, you can see in Vi's expressions at 20:44-20:47 that she has 4 different rapid emotions: first, panic. she hears explosions and her heart drops. Then her brows draw low and she barrels in, ready to fight. She gets to Cait, worry , then relief as she examines her face to make sure she is truly alive and okay. Then, as she turns, you can see her brows pull tight and mouth thin in what appears to be anger at whoever had done this. The animators put so much into micro adjustments that say so much about how these characters feel without them ever saying anything on the topic

The talk in this of Vi and Caitlyn's different stations in life made something interesting occur to me... If you think about it, the one sex scene in season 1 happens in the moment that the power dynamic between the two characters finally stops being unequal for the first time in 5 episodes, and the sex itself could arguably be seen as a metaphor for them reaching a level playing field in social standing and power over one another Jayce's upward trajectory from nobody to golden boy to councilor to skilled deal-maker and political manipulator finally makes him Mel's equal. And even though they knew each other for 7 years prior, it's only then, when neither has an unbalanced amount of power over the other that they get together So I wonder if it'll be the same for Cait and Vi in season 2?? Currently, though she obviously wouldn't use it maliciously, Caitlyn has significantly more social, legal, and political power than Vi. And it could be that a moment will come when that changes, when their positions in the world stop being so imbalanced and they can face each other as true equals. And it's finally in THAT moment that they will actually get together and have a love scene to symbolize their partnership advancing to this new, balanced form
