Any idea when/if LDS will have an app to use on iPad/iPhone? Would be super helpful!!
They are developing the Leonardo Design Studio software fully before spending time and energy on an app on mobile devices.
Hi ! What is the thickness cutting posibility, because technically is 1mm only given on the most of the sellers websites.Thank you
Hello! Good videos -- I just got one of these are you able to tell me what kind of material you used in this video, was it HTV or Printable Vinyl?
EasyColor DTV, got it! Thank you
I'm trying to do a side edged card that has the Birthday like you have, and the Happy, but I'm also printing and cutting the word Birthday to glue on top of said word. As well as a little graphic to go on the bottom. It doesn't want anything to be a print and cut though. I can't figure out where I'm going wrong. I set them up in the layers tab, but they won't stay that way so I'm obviously doing something really, really wrong. LOL
@@LadyWhiteOwl did you build the contours on the print and cut elements?
@@SwiftCreekCustoms oh no, I welded but never built the contours, will have to try that out, thank you!
Good subject matter.🧑🎨♾️💡
What are the best blade depth settings for sticker paper, that you find? When I go to cut, it seems like faint cuts go through my designs . Please help
@@vanessamartin6478 that means your blade is out too far typically. All sticker paper is going to vary and test cuts are the only way to know. Measure the blade depth next to the material and it only needs to be extended out far enough to get through the layer(s) you are cutting.
I see you said you used a cricut mat, so as long as they are the right size for the machine I can use them until I get more of the siser mats?
Siser machines are no mat specific. As long as you are using a cutting machine mat that's designed for cutting machines and not something else.
@@SwiftCreekCustoms Thank you! My cricut mats are not a waste now. ☺
@@LadyWhiteOwl you are welcome!
For some reason when I send design I no longer have the Don't separate by color option. It automatically sets to AQll arwork and move each color layer to origin and I can't change anything? Any suggestions? I am still enjoying the pro trial for 5 more days so I'm not sure why I no longer have the option. OOOH! I figured it out. :P
Why do you need manual settings for cutting? This machine is so costly and you need to do all these extras. Unfortunately I cannot return my Romeo.
@@mariatalavera8850 because that is how the machines are designed. It's designed like a more professional style cutter where the user is in charge of more. The more you do it, the better you get, and it becomes second nature. You are in charge. Materials vary world wide and that also means cut settings vary too.
I am getting so frustrated with my machine I have tried everything changed the blade and adjusted it but cannot cut my cup wraps out cleanly with track wrap printable vinyl with the laminated sheets please help
@@AngelAlexisfam laminate on top of another material seems the most difficult material for users to find the right cut settings for. All materials vary and the only way to find what works for each is to test cut, test cut, test cut..... Especially when you are cutting through multiple layers. Test cuts and multiple passes. Make sure you are on the most current version of the software to easily perform multiple passes.

You are the Best trouble shooter for sure. Great video.
Thank you!
Thank you for your videos! Did you use the 60 degree blade for your chipboard cut? How did you decide how far to extend the blade from the blade housing?
How thick of chipboard have you cut? Theoretically the Siser Romeo can cut 1mm (38pt) chip, but I have not found that to be the case. At least with a single pass. I'm considering cutting from both sides (a mirror image of the cut) to see if I can cut something thicker. Have you tried that?
I measure the blade depth next to the material and set it up that way - ua-cam.com/video/gpRRQOlXc3A/v-deo.htmlsi=1-POycPcHWx_5-o0 I was using the 45 degree blade.
@@aubreypullman8847 I would suggest multiple passes for thicker materials. The blade will just get stuck if you try to do it all at once. I have not tried cutting from both sides as you would need to find a way to line it up exactly perfect to do so. I do not know the specific thickness as it was a chipboard from a cardstock product packaging that I save and it will vary. It was thicker than I've been successful with the Silhouette machines, but it did require several passes.
Thanks for all the info on the large format cutters. I got a great deal on the Silhouette pro which I couldn’t pass up. As this was my first Silhouette I need all the help I can get!
Make sure to check out this information - I have some really in-depth videos on the Cameo Pro as I was one of the original testers before it was ever released.... so I have a lot of hours into that machine - silhouette-secrets.com/cameo-pro/
Great information! Thank you. ❤

Hi, I have calibrated and when I was going to cut a design, it was able to pick up the first corner but unable to locate the second/ third corner. It went too far pass the corners and I was unable to use the arrows on the screen to relocate the red cross. I have repositioned the blade to the corner or the marking point on the page, but it did not pick up the second corner either.. The deign has a laminate on top and placed on a mat (custom mat). In Leonardo Design studio, I could not change the setting to Custom mat (which is strange), as they only allowed me to choose between the siser mats or generic mats. I dont know where I have gone wrong...
@@julienguyen8437 is the printer printing the correct size and not resizing the print in any way? Scaling up or down? That would change where the machine thinks the marks are printed. There are only certain size mat designations. That is not unusual.
@@julienguyen8437 ua-cam.com/video/D2W5bAmGhxM/v-deo.htmlsi=63J1jw_cLnXAILNC
@@SwiftCreekCustoms thank you. I will watch your video first and test out again . The paper is the correct sizing. I will see if it needs recalibration again , and change the position where the blade is.. I have a feeling that might be due to the mat being bent and not staying flat enough..
@@julienguyen8437 ok - so yes - the mat needs to be flat. I would get a new one. If it arrived that way, contact Siser. The comment above was in reference to the actual printed images on the paper, not the paper size itself. The printer can scale the design it prints.
Hi, I am wondering, if I have a design is on a square/ rectangle and I want to cut out the square/ rectangle, then I would choose the background image setting instead of print and cut, and it will cut out that shape (with the design in it) only. Is this correct?
@@julienguyen8437 if you open it as a background, you would need to draw the rectangle/square you want it to cut. Background = opens image only. No cut lines & does not set it up as a print.
@@SwiftCreekCustoms that makes a lot more sense now! Thank you 😊
@@julienguyen8437 you are welcome!
I'm having a problem with it ripping my vinyl after it has already cut out the design. At 16:38 in this video is where it happens to me. You can actually kind of hear it in your video but it keeps tearing my vinyl up and I don' know why. I have the rollers loosened all the way. Have you experienced this? Any suggestions?
@@kimneos3046 I'm sorry, I don't understand. At 16:38 in the video, my cut is just starting. What is tearing the vinyl? The rollers? The blade tip? Rollers loosened = levers are all flipped down in the back and all are secured over the black textured area of the bottom roller bar?
@@SwiftCreekCustoms I think I may have figured it out…there was a sharp piece sticking out on that black plastic piece where the cutting tool goes in…I shaved it down and didn’t have the issue but it was a small cut..I’m going to try a much bigger one today so 🤞🏻🤞🏻thank you for responding!!
Wait a sec.... isn't the cutting tool other way around? the Cut tool (perf) Blue Solid Circle is the die cut right? while the Green outline Circle (full cut perf) is the kiss cut
@@skyhskyh you can set it up either way since you are in charge of the settings. The software has also had some changes since the beginning with dot colors..... But the user is in charge of it all and as long as you know what you've set up for each color, that's the biggest part.
Hi. I wonder if I have a roll and feed it in, would this machine cut in a correct size? Let say a sheet of A3 or A4?
For a print and cut project? The machine will read it as the project was set up. It can print and cut matless, you'd have to test from a roll versus cutting the sheet off, however, it may work great. I would recommend watching this video where I show what happens when cutting a sheet matless.... ua-cam.com/video/lqZ3GlJoMxQ/v-deo.htmlsi=5CCLBYoHcXUvG-ee A roll might work, but would need to be set up for the exact size you are printing. You would just load the roll and position the housing like a normal cut, but the roll would help it stay in the machine and not fall out.
@@SwiftCreekCustoms Thank you. I will watch your video and think about it :D
Getting the height correct is easier if you use something like Post-It notes as a guide. Also helps with consistency between different projects ;)
@@richardroebuck1915 yes! A Popsicle/craft stick works great too!
Is there a shortcut for moving something down by one pixel on a Mac? Shift lets me do left and right, but I cannot figure out up and down. CTRL lets me lock movement vertically, but that wants to rearrange my open windows as soon as I use the arrows.TIA!
I am a Windows user and Shift + the up and down arrow keys moves a selected design in a smaller increment up or down for me. However, I do know that some shortcuts do not work the same on a MAC.

@Buendia323 yes. Here is how I would do it. Create an offset of the sticker that you would want cut. Copy and paste the offset to a new design mat. Save both files and then copy and paste the offset to be cut as many times as you want on the new file.
@@SwiftCreekCustoms can this be done even if it doesn’t have any margins ? I just want the card stocks to be cut the same shape as the stickers to just be able to glue the stickers on the card stock .. so I’m not actually printing on the card stocks I just want to cut

@RobertoRosa-fo3it ungrouping is the same in all versions. Right click and ungroup. If the ungroup is not an option, then you may need to right-click and break path. It ultimately depends on the design and how it was created.
can you apply the transparent clean sheet on the sticker images prior to cutting out? avoiding the registration marks to keep from interfering with the camera?
@@notcalbabe yes you could, but you'll need to test cut, test cut, test cut to get the right cut settings for your materials.

Can I print first then cut later? I have a cricut but planning to switch to siser. I dont have a printer and I just have the design printed in a shop then I'll just load the design later. Will that process also work with siser?
@@midnightmia yes, as long as you are using the exact file that was printed. A printing company may not be able to open the LDS file, so you'd have to print to PDF and then have them print that. The printed page would have to match the file EXACTLY and not be scaled in any way. I would test that or invest in a printer for ease of access.
Hi I’m Rob and I’d like to know how can I get this design along with the speed and cut settings you used I have the 24” Siser Romeo cutter
I used this design - Ying and Yang design - bit.ly/3xdPafI affil For cut settings, I recommend test cut, test cut, test cut!!! ua-cam.com/video/OZj7n7ggrMg/v-deo.htmlsi=eVQU4S92QcvFg_Pw Typically, I use a force of 9-11 for Oracal 651, but it depends on who well used my blade is. I always test cut before I send any job, especially a big one. Not all designs cut well at a high speed. Most times I'll use a 10, but if it's intricate, I may drop that down to an 8.
Isn't it amazing what our children want and do. I giggled at the idea of your daughter ripping off the sticks and taking the cake topper to her room.
Yes it is! She loved it and I guess that's all that matters. lol
Hello, Thanks for your video. I have the etching tool but where can I add it to my list in Leonardo ? I dont find where is the Preset Library you have to add it. Yay! Welcome to the Siser family! You are welcome! I am so glad that they help!
Hi. Thank you. Your videos are very helpful. I just bought my Juliet yesterday and I'm trying out print and cut on A4 glossy sticker paper (portrait orientation). Machine read the first registration mark on the lower left but always goes to the rightmost side (way beyond the registration mark and camera now on the mat) and proceeds to go up real quick to read nonexistent registration marks on the mat before it gives an error beep. What am I doing wrong?
Make sure that the printed page is not being scaled up or down in any way. If it is then the machine thinks the marks are in a different location than they are... usually you can see this on the actual page when compared to in the software - however, sometimes you'll need to measure it.... ua-cam.com/video/D2W5bAmGhxM/v-deo.htmlsi=YTaCLv4XAKnfRKzL That behavior is what we see when the print out is smaller than it should be.
EllyMae, Thankyou for the detailed visuals and explanations.
You are welcome!
Great video.. I was on the edge about getting the siser romeo and this video I believe made up my mind. Thank you very much! Have a wonderful week
Thank you! You are welcome!
Thanks! Awesome to be able to edit the Path. What I'm wondering about, is there a way to realign, to move the Path back to the origin position after I moved it, besides Ctrl+Z directly after the move?
No. Control Z is the only undo and that will only work in the software.
@@SwiftCreekCustoms So Object Snaps, in this case Geometric Center would do (eg. like in AutoCAD) is not available. Thanks for your reply.
@EVO_Engineering you can use the align tools in the bottom toolbar bar or under the menus to align designs to each other or the edges of the mat. There is also a position that you can tell it exactly where to go in the bottom of the Properties panel. I show that in this video tour I'll link below.

Thanks for the video. I followed all the steps but after that I am lost... I don't understand how my plotter will find where to cut whenever I put my printed design in the machine. My plotter sends out a beep signal and I don't know why it does that, it seems like it doesn't find the cut lines on the design. Do you know what I'm doing wrong maybe? Is the position of my print not right? Or maybe the start position of my knife? Thank you so much for the help if possible.
Sounds like you need to start with the basic setup. ua-cam.com/video/_MJJFyBFO_U/v-deo.htmlsi=mPqUrvQjNfPwI3LD
Thank you for your video. I love that you shared the ups and downs of crafting. Issues do occur. I appreciate that you shared how you moved on with the original project and shared the final project.
You are welcome!
