More a width and offset thing mate, but yes if you keep all that within specs you can get away with not doing it.

Thanks mate, appreciate the comment, guard rolling is anywhere from $150-550 but on average usually around $250-350 ( to do properly that is, i dont rush cars out the door like other shops )

He was undecided if to go with the twin plate or not. It is a stock SS and i think that this clutch kit was on special.

@@RCSMediaDivision if it was cheap then yeah i can see it being worth it!! but ive driven a few LS cars and my mantic twin plates in my xr6 ute and they are just to good and easy to drive! But also with the lunch control and 20/275s on the rear i can set it to 3000rpm and 4psi launch or 5000rpm and as much boost as its will build (around 10-14 depending on summer or winter) and drop the clutch in 2nd to smoke out the street and the clutch will NEVER be my issue.. Now the cars been of the road again for a few months its going to see 15s on a 275/295 street radial with a 4 port mac valve and no tune for it this summer :(

@@mifo2000 Thats good info to have mate, i would of thought the drivability would be different for sure. they do say for most people its best to keep the clutch as the weak point in the driveline. first thing to go to save destroying other things.

the twin plates are to good. not like the hilux where u can take off in 3rd but very easy to dive, sit in traffic on the monash fwy for hours trying to get back to the west side after an accident in the tunnel

@@mifo2000 Yer right, so really much of the same really as single. i guess its really the button clutches and what not that get hard? i remember one of my cars was on or off and was stiff as. in a VN Aero. was good for skids but nothing other then that really haha

Yer i went a bit different on the music for this one. not everyones cup of tea for sure. but i like to mix things up.

@@RCSMediaDivision Yeah for sure, I didn't mind the tunes, just didn't fit my head space right now ha ha. Have only had 1 day off in two weeks & am working at least the next 7 days straight. Thats when my head needs Metal or Rock ha ha! I run a business too. Free time is a premium! at least I got to tinker with my VL a bit tonight. Cheers!

@@brushitoff503 Yer i hear you mate, it never ends. the worse iv done is around 4 months with no days off. that was a lot. i was a big grumpy bum then haha. iv learnt now that i atleast need a morning off and a night off once a week to keep ontop of my mental health.

You can use an engine brace and drop the kframe thats how i do them.

There were unbranded, They were just cheap ones. they sounded pretty nice tho. ill confirm the supplier when i talk with customer next.

Yer id go a little lower in the rear atleast. have it more like my lux... but he uses this for gardening jobs so loads the back up a fair bit. would have to go airbags like me otherwise.

I had another car the other day, i pulled the inner guard liner and a bucket worth of dirt fell off onto the ground. Only issue with working on 4x4s they are typically dirty underneath and i try run a clean shop so it annoys me haha

Hey Mate, You have a few options. You can cut off the factory mount and weld on a bolt so its very similar to a ute diff, you can just swap out to a ute diff if its easier for you too ( i have done this before) but if your keeping the factory setup you will need to do something. if you get a coilover shock or similar they have a swivel eyelet mount at the bottom. This car already had those in it so it had enough movement to allow for the relocation.

Hey Mate, I was working on this Saturday at my shop. it went out the door sat night. i was at the shop Sunday arvo ( slept in sun morning as worked 20 hours at the shop sat ) but was working on a Discovery 4 in the arvo. i think one of my neighbors has a ZR2 maybe you seen that
