Hello SLC..😂I’m here in Utah, I did enjoy plane spotting with my phone while waiting for my plane at gate and after arrival..I always stand at terminal recording the planes! Good memories!

I remember plane spotting at SLC when I was kid. There was a parking lot a long distance from the (old) terminal just for watching the planes. Western was the most frequent, but I liked seeing the less usual ones like Texas International and American.

This airplane is beautiful in it's own right. It is big, square looking like a flying box but it commands respect. It is very high so when you look up, you see a very tall ceiling with a third row of windows. There was also a way for the mechanic to enter the wing while in flight and go internally to each engine if a repair needed to be made. The mighty US Air Force was respected in the 1950s and the C-124 played a major role in that effort.

its one of nine c-124s left back then it was the US AF's primary means of large transports suppemented by the Douglas C-133 Cargomaster. the C-124 were retired in 1974 with the introduction of the Lockheed C-5 Galaxy which is still in service as well as the Boeing C-17 Globemaster lll. in your video the ladder behind the cargo ramps is not there which leads to the cockpit and Flight deck.

Correction: The aircraft in the video is *NOT* a 787-8. It is a 787-9, despite what is said in the video.
