I think all of this changes are because of the Lazyness of new generations (alpha) They have ai and tiktok, which releases dopamine and leaves too quickly (seconds), since they have that, it makes them lazy to make challenges and quests that take more time to reléase dopamine (dopamine adiction) Ai basically solves a lot of aspects your life in seconds, and doesnt require you to think at all

Honestly. Seeing how they removed all these quests. It's such a shame. Why take away something good??? Why did they have to go ruin everything? Why not just build upon it? 😭

I saw screenshots of the new beginning and while it doesnt suit my characters story, I am mostly fine with it. Meeting the girls before they dissapear create a reason why the mc care enough to look for them. And it gives bit of a timeline of how long time has past in-game. But I dont like Anne is there. The old story was that Lisa been gone for 2 week and Anne for 2 month. Anne is the sun sister and is the one that can handle Pandorian magic the best of the girls. And she got a scar from over-exposure. That made it clear that she had to be in Pandoria for a lot longer time than Lisa had. That they now disapear around the same time, even if Anne was saved later, it doesnt make sense to me that Anne got that scar and not Lisa. I would have liked it better is Anne was missing at the point when MC comes to Jorvik and is the first mystery players learn about. And then when Linda and Lisa disapear players get to understand the urgency

Personally I think the daily grind for reputation was a bit too much back in the days. My account literally turns 11 years this year (2025), I was a kid when i started playing now im 21 x), and a WHOLE month for grinding its way too much... I understand i was a kid, i had all the time in the world, but a whole month to the SO many dailys...hell no. Im more than happy that they made the grinding a bit better, like maximum a week at this point, because it keeps me a bit hooked, even tho.. after not even 40 minutes i get bored.. That's why i think they really should focus more on the actual freaking quests than releasing horses like its a fast-fashion company. They enjoy the money, but i would enjoy AS WELL to put more hours and money in this game if they actually made me enjoy the game more than 40 minutes. Now.. for a new player, it might be nice, because I was there as well, but when i started playing the game was pretty empty and I was waiting for the next updates, now.. the new player has a TON of content and still can wait for the next updates and be entertained, but now.. im almost level 22..the game is pretty boring outside daily grind..

As a kid I was not able to get star stable bc it was a computer only game but now I just play the old quests with some missing dialogue :,) and watch the old videos I used to watch when I really wanted to play

maybe some ppl thought the kallters were cultural appropriation to the Inuit people….im indigenous and I genuinely thought it was good representation. Either way it’s a shame that they haven’t continued the story. I also miss the gen 1 fjords sooooo much, I only have one but i wish I got all of them at the time.

Yeah, also the dark music is scary, also I was always scared at night in the game, i love horror games, and the new sso team just ruined everything and it turned into some childish simple game where is almost nothing to do, old sso team wanted to make a game for teenagers, and that was better

I'm a quite new player (2021-2022) so I didn't even know about most of these quests. I enjoy videos about what SSO used to be, just for curiosity but also to understand why most old players are unsatisfied. The removal of most of the quests is a bad idea, especially the learning of jumping with Justin and the Soul Riding with Elizabeth. Some day blockers were indeed frustrating, but we had excitment to log on the next day just to continue the quest. SSO should have reworked them instead of totally removed them. Same with reputation blockers. It also gave some immersions : we have to prove ourselves before being given some quests/tasks, we have to gain trust before being asked for help and some things in life needs time before being done. I am at level 23, I have finished the main quests, most of the side quests. Only Tokken, fishing that I don't really like, archelogy and Soul Riding with Riannhon are still unfinished. I can easily not log on for days, there not much to do anymore. At the time I am writing (January 2025) it's been six months approximately since the last main quests, year since new area or interesting side quest, just trails and festivals. So yes, we can do daily quests, collect fireflies in Hollow Woods (I love this area so much !) to get points so rewards but it's quickly repititive.

Well done. By seeing this I just realised what they took from us. I grew up with the starshine games and was enthralled by the mystery the whole world had. I remember riding around the Dino valley for hours, even though there was nothing there, standing in front of the kallter gate, wondering what magic waits behind it. I like that the game has more details now, but I think they should have reduced that to a few places that have sunshine and flowers... I miss the eerie cold feeling, like I was never comfortable with my character wearing a shirt :D

the quests, the graphics, the bugs, the old mechanics, the challenges. I can't put it into words how much I miss the old SSO. As a kid the game fed my curiosity, I could spend hours on end trying to glitch myself into an unrestricted area. The mysteries were intriguing, the darkness was unfamiliar and exciting for my young mind. We can only hope there happens to be an old copy of the game from before these changes that gets released at some point :(

Star Stable could actually reintroduce a lot of those unique characteristics (updated) into the game once more. Is a way to reconnect with both OG and new player and give the magic of Jorvik a well deserved rebirth. Bring some of the old Soundtracks back such as Walks on Moorland and Silverglade, perhaps the snow tolerant horses? I can not lie the new updates and graphics have improved the game, yet it is felt that a lot of Jorvik's magic has vanished little by little. What are your thoughts?

I was playing the old Star Stable games and as someone who played through the SSO questline before it was completely rewritten, it made me feel bittersweet to see how well connected the games were. They truly feel like an artifact of what Star Stable once was as a franchise while the new team is making SSO into an entirely different game and it feels like so much love that was poured into the original games was wasted.

I believe, that the other rangers who locked in the single one, we're afraid of her for whatever reason. Whether that may be because she knew something they don't, or other. Since there are no visible elk in Mistfall, I believe she truly is screaming, and the other rangers have placed speakers distributing such noises, to cover up the human screams.

I miss the smallest bits of nordic/scandinavian rep we got. Midsommar is famously a swedish holiday, but is also celebrated in all three countries, just in different ways. I hate how 'American' the game has become.

I personally own three gen 2s: The black with white markings, the black and white appaloose and the classic blueish shiny friesian with feathered hooves. Unpopularly enough, I LOVE the gen 3s. They're clunky, and I love it. Derpy but I love it. On the brink of ugly so I find them cute.

I almost started to cry watching this video. I‘m playing the game since 2015 and just started really playing again cause I lost the interest in playing it. The game seems so lifeless and dull now :( I just loved the old animations and especially how the game looked like. I remember that I sometimes even skipped school on wednesday’s cause I wanted to play straight up when the update came out. It‘s not just about nostalgia or that we got older, but that Star Stable has lost its spark..

If SSO ever makes an animated series with the current lore and story line I think i speak for a large percentage of the community that we would LOVE if Alice or Violet should be the main character, the fifth soulrider for it. or atleast let the whole community vote and customize whoever may play that character.

ive been playing sso since 2016 and i have struggled to find a commentary video that actually covers what they've changed and how it took away other aspects, and i absolutely love this video since it covers everything even though im a little late. i have a main account at level 24 and an alt that's at 15 or 14, and i just cannot play the quests on it, its so unengaging and boring, i remember spending everyday on sso for hours and not being able to tear myself away from the screen but now its like "omg there's more wtf" which is upsetting because i know im not grown out of this game, its just how far the story has gone off the original plot they've practically tried to erase atp. and it really truly feels like the newer team is trying to get rid of everything the old team has done?? i dont know but the removing outdated things like tack and clothes makes no sense to me personally.

I started playing in January 2020 and I know I missed SSO´s peak, but even for me, the game does not feel the same anymore. I feel like they removed so many "details", like for example only being able to go to Pandoria on your starter horse. Yes, it was a little annoying sometimes but it added, as you said a challenge. Nowadays, me, and many players more advanced in the game get easily bored, because the new things added are mostly horses. Very rarely a new quest or more rarely a new area. And if there´s a quest, it´s always part of the main quest, what is nice, but it would add some diversity to the game and to Jorvik, if they added some side quests as well. All my SSO Friends and me are only logging on because we want to level, and then we log off after 15 minutes or so. Even the events are not the same anymore, they removed the cloud kingdom this year and the quests at other events are the same every year. The only thing really new are the limited horses or the clothing, which are nice but it shouldn´t be the main aspect of an event. Personally, the only thing really attractive at events are the extra hxp. I feel like, SSO is not really listening to what their players want, but slowly doing everything for more profit. Even I, who only has known the new graphics and started with a gen 3 horse, think that the old graphics have a better vibe than the new ones.

I remember when i was excited to log in to complete my quests as a kid , but now i hardly log in , and it became more boring than anything, usually i log in to do my races and stuff for xp and then i leave because most quests are star rider and i don’t have star rider so start stable did become extremely boring

29:04 it’s really sad hearing your hopes for the 2024 pride festival because im sure we all felt the same. it was honestly devastating that cloud kingdom did not return. the pride festival was held at fort pinta beach and felt nothing like a festival. i get the thought process behind removing events but honestly atp its just making people upset. most of us look forward to these events every year only for us to be tolded its not longer coming back or just be blindsided. this years pride festival was a flunk to me, what was the purpose in removing cloud kingdom? haven’t they learned from removing past events?

Those old graphics made our imagination much stronger then with the new graphics. They got rid of everything. Our events like easter, midsummer, christmas ON Jorvik (having to run all around the place). Our graphics. Our entire storyline. There's no more thrill. The game had that little scare about it. The feeling garnok was everywhere. Now its kind of boring its just ur usual horse game.
