Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, but it keeps getting faster and higher - Score Video | Ruining Mozart
Переглядів 4712 роки тому
It's the first movement of Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, except for some reason, every 2-6 bars we're going to increase the tempo by 4 BPM and raise the key by a half step. I'm legitimately impressed that Noteperformer can play way higher than any of these instruments reasonably should.

As a hornist, we are omnipresent.
I see what you did there 🤣
😢
you should make them on 27 for french horn and trumpet dotted 8th notes
loving this arrangement
Hiii
Hello 👋
That’s some good stuff!
Sick, I play bass clarinet in concert band and baritone sax in the jazz band
I play bass in concert and alto sax in jazz
hey i also play bass clarinet! question, how easy was it to learn bari?
@@sunnysleeps. Bari isn't hard, just requires a lot of air
I play Bari sax in both concert and jazz band
The French horn snuck into the woodwind and brass 😈
We’re taking over 😈
We are superior😈
Very cute! School band directors should really find this useful, as it will work for a simpler version of brass too ( three trumpets). Enough for everyone to get some soloes.
Thanks for listening! We actually have a version for brass trio! It's scored lower so it would be easier for three trumpets. It's on our website here: sigmasquaredmusic.com/products/twenty-christmas-carols-for-flexible-brass-trio
I am very glad that there is a bassoon part, I am the only one in my high school for seven years.
Horn in F (French horn) is not a woodwind it's a brass. If you meant Wind (as in instruments you blow into) that would be better.
This ensemble is standard instrumentation and can be called either Woodwind Quintet or Wind Quintet. It comes from the classical period when there wasn't really a distinction between brass and woodwind instruments as there is today. Historically, horns have played together with woodwinds because their timbre blends nicely.
As a tenor sax I feel recognized🥹
@@whoisLon #relatable. We never get to do anything cool. It’s always like, “Be quiet tenors, we need to hear the altos more!” (I play jazz)
@The_Cosmic_Clarinet MY BAND DIRECTOR FORGETS ALL ABOUT US- especially in concert season like whenever I hear him yell for tenors I always assume I'm in trouble because of how rare I'm acknowledged-
As a tenor sax player, I feel very represented. 👍🏻
@@The_Cosmic_Clarinet hey I play tenor sax too :D
@ I love ur name bro. 😎 Concert or Jazz?
@ I’ll be joining the high school next year, so I’ll get to be in both there and also I might be getting a soprano for my birthday, so we might be able to do a quartet. Idk tho the high school director is rly strict
@ I played concert last year (I play clarinet and tenor btw) and I play jazz this year. I want to learn soprano and play in jazz, concert, and marching band with a combo of all three instruments. Does your high school start in 9th grade? Mine does and I’m in 8th this year. Do you play any other instruments?
@@The_Cosmic_Clarinet well I play alto and tenor, but once you learn one I guess you learn them all, and I’m in 8th, our high school starts in 9th unfortunately. But I am so excited. Also I do play a little trumpet but not very well lol. I’m a Zelda fan, so I also play the ocarina and my grandfather started learning the Irish tin whistle, which is basically a little flute. On an unrelated note, do you get into any honor bands, district, or all state bands?
=)
😮
Oh snap soprano ain’t top dawg no more
Wait till you hear about the soprillo
@ lol real I can’t even imagine having a valve in the mouthpiece 🤣
@Im2Saxy181 How about the _bass? Contrabass? Subcontrabass?_
@ ooohh now we’re getting fancy wit it
@ I’m assuming you’ve watched that army band saxophone video where some guys went to see a person with a massive selection of saxes He had some that were really wierd like just contrabass, sub contrabass, and then he had stuff like a alto without and valves or keys, a slide soprano, and a sax tuned in F
Im in music school and i rlly wanna try this wuth my classmates, exept no ones a basoon sadly
If you reach out to me through my website, I can usually provide a transposed part to sub out an instrument.
Does your school have Bass Clarinets? Bass Clarinets can usually get the range of a bassoon.
As a saxophonist, I feel very left out.
Sax quintet version coming soon!
I’m doing this for my winter concert and my director just rewrote the bassoon part for the saxes, so if you have the time and patience..
Saxophones don't appear in classical woodwind quintets.
@@aPersonWhoHasViolins I know. I just felt like saying something.
Skill issue (From a hornist)
My favorite part is the bar at 1:11. The Tuba has a D-flat, but the horn maintains the “harmonic minor” scale with a D natural. Cool sound.
Great ear for dissonance, thanks for noticing!
@@sigmasquaredmusic Well executed chromaticism is a neglected art form. I find the ones who do it best make it so that when you look at it on the page, it seems like a horrible clash, but when played, the context makes it make sense. It is a clash but goes perfectly with the direction of each instrument’s melodic line.
But aren’t horns brass instruments?
They are! However, they play in woodwind quintets because of the nice way that the warm timbre of the horn interacts with those instruments!
@@Eli-music484in short, we’re just better
French horns are treated just like saxophones and can be classified as either in technicallity
Hey shhhhhhhh, we’re forgotten and always play with the saxes, so we just snuck in
Yes but we’re losers and can be classified as a saxophone because of our sound.
I will have my friends and me play this Thanks
Sounds very good!
Hey nice arrangement! If you have time come see the ones I'm doing myself. Cheers
I'll check em out bro I gotchu
The Chant section sounds crazy similar to the opening part of Incantation and Dance
Thank you for sharing this with us. Pure art.
Estoy iniciando mi cuarteto, alguien que me pase las partituras?
¡Sí! Está aquí: sigmasquaredmusic.com/collections/saxophone/products/pagan-dances-saxophone-quartet
Tempo is way too fast for ragtime.
You can play it slower if you want.
Can you arrange this for clarinet quartet please?
I already did! You can find it on my website here: sigmasquaredmusic.com/products/pagan-dances-clarinet-quartet
@@sigmasquaredmusicha! i was actually going to ask for the same thing
I performed this with my sax quartet
That’s awesome, how was your performance?
@@sigmasquaredmusic it went very well
that's hype
Amazing work as always
How can i get the parts
Follow the link in the description. The set includes the full score and all five parts.
how do you heal a broken heart pls....sax quartet
Sorry, the score does not match the recording. At times, it seems to be a tone higher than the recording and at other times, a semitone. I would love to play this piece and I was wondering whether you had a more accurate score, or if this score was really what was originally intended. Thank you
Well that's interesting, I had never noticed. The printed score is the source material, and that's what is accurate. The recording is more than twenty years old, and probably got pitch-shifted at some point, perhaps as a result of changing the sample rate or converting from analog to digital. Thanks for catching the error. If you shoot me an email to steve (at) sigmasquaredmusic dot com, I'll send you a PDF copy of the piece for free.
@@sigmasquaredmusicCan I also have one? 😃
My band is playing this this year!
That’s awesome! If you happen to get a video, please share it, I’d love to see your performance.
thanks!
Pagan? You mean genuine human spirituality? Also, if it's got philipp glass in it, then it's arse anyway. Does not apply to anything european. Just play some klezmer for some true heretic faiths.
I eenjoyed listening to this lovely piece in my Kentucky home.
pagan ballad sounds strikingly similar to the 1st movement of philip glass' saxophone quartet
I loved that piece when I discovered it in college. It definitely influenced this one.
You would love the suite from fetus du Pour du village saxophone. Its in french and that's all I can remember of the name, I'll link you to the pieces. They are all gorgeous, much like your work here, that 3/4 feels so unsure of being a 3/4 I love it. ua-cam.com/video/S9vKLOZvUAM/v-deo.html
I agree, great piece, reminds me of a solo saxophone work by Jeanjean that I played in college. Thanks for sharing!
@@sigmasquaredmusic haha, well little did you know, that is JeanJean! Took me 2 years to find the piece, trying to remember the french title. I've seen so many pictures of french villages that I became an architect before I finally found the piece.
That's my mother-in-law; way to go, Opal!
Great job! That sounds awesome. 😍🎷
As a saxophone teacher I would love to work with this group to elevate the piece to the next level. Lovely performance and excellent writing
The bass clarinet really does all the heavy lifting.
Umm why refer to this as pagan? Does it reference pagan cultures in anyway? Does it just use the word pagan because it commodifies the word.
I studied pagan religions a lot when I was younger. This suite is how I envisioned their dances would have sounded.
Which kind of pagan culture? Greek? Roman? Norse?
Greek.
Is that how u play fermata?
Sometimes.
Simply enjoyable :)
