I just did my water change and it's not time to change the filter yet. On a 65 gallon freshwater tank with 7 different types of plants and some nicely stocked fish and a thick wood, and there has been no bad bacheria, or bad levels in the water. It's just completely green after a few days. I even left the light off. Even though it's a fluval aquarium pro and has control over it automatically for optimized light.
I got 75 gallon tank when i purchase aligator snapping turtle and comon snapping turtle i also purchase pleco they basically grown-up up together i mean buddies. Usually pleco loves to be on top of aligator snapping just chilling 😎 😅 just hung out .he Usually clean they shell. The crazy part when i feed them fish they eat it but no pleco 😅😅 i guess they think he is just another turtle. All 3 of them about same size !
Can they live together?
what about when doing water change
Pro tip: put the ends of the tube in hot water to make them a bit softer so it's easier to put the one end into the other
I’m having this issue right now and it’s really bad. I can’t clear it at all! I know you said it’s the filtration? But I feel like I have tried this as well and it’s so green I can’t see my fish. PLEASE HELP if you can thank you
u put sock filter and wash regularly..after 2day u can get water clearly..
In Vietnam here, this kind of fish just spawn from every pond, lake, river and even ricefield. It can endure the harshest environment that nature or human can give. When I was a kid, I catched a few of them in my autie's pond in the countryside. The best transportation for them was a plastic box filled with water and I seated on a bus for like 2 hours until I reached home to put them in my fish tank. Despite the name "paradise fish", those fish gave my other fish living hell. They literally murdered nearly half of my fish tank in just one night due to their agressive nature and probably from their old habitat of fighting for life. I had no choice but to free them in a nearest lake and think maybe their were fine, their tolerance are high as hell. Now I understand why people name those fish as "paradise fish". It's either everywhere is their paradise or they just make other fish go to heaven.
Bristlenose plecos only eat Cyanobacteria which is the green algae. They don't eat all the 10 other types of algae like black beard algae, brown algae, red algae or diatom algae etc. One of the best algae eater is for example the "Chinese algae eater" fish. Definitely not the bristlenose. This video is misconseption. In fact bristlenoses are one the worst algae eaters because most L numbered catfish eat more algae than the bb
Can you keep cardinal Tetras with paradise fish, thanks
How do you prevent biofilm from forming in the partitioned area?
@@tomDMB you just need to do a little maintenance
UV is the only solution to this!
Im going through this rn. I have been through many times with many tanks. My advice is to let it be. Do less, feed less, less light. Let nature do it's job.
So helpful
It so popular in my country (vietnamese) :)
I love this fish..i have a 180L tank. I would love 10 oto's, 12 pearl danio's and 1 (female?) paradise fish...but also..and here it comes: 200 Bloody mary shrimp! How would this go you think? Bye bye all shrimp in one week? Or would he just eat now and then a shrimp and leaves them for the rest alone? I mean 200 shrimp will make allot of baby's every month, enough to keep the shrimp population high enough?
I wouldn't risk them with shrimp. Paradise gouramis are basically cold-water bettas in terms of temperament.
I had a male one and noticed he kept chasing my black phantom tetras around, i bought a female one and hes chilled out no kinda takes no notice of the tetras anymore.
I've seen some large ones already larger than this one shown
I’m currently going threw this
@@rayray03030 I hope you have it fixed now!
I have had my tank for years. I had an algae bloom soon after changing the air pump. I have not been able to fix it no matter how many or how much of a water change I did. I am going to turn up and see if that fixes the problem.
Will they eat adult amano and crystal shrimps?
fishes are friend NOT food
What about chickens?
how many should I have? (as in how many males to females ratio)
I would suggest only having one male per tank. Maybe two or more females, if you have the space.
Thanks!
I'm contemplating getting one to go with my Dwarf cichlids, which also grow to around 4 inches (10cm) max. Do you think they will be compatible? 🇬🇧
I would think so, depending on which cichlids you have.
Which sites do you go on to buy one?
I buy most of my fish, including this one, from local fish stores in my area. But I have bought some online and would recommend Imperial Tropicals.
need to put a string if water level drops
Is anyone having success breeding rubber lip plecos?
Personally, I have never tried. But good luck!
@@allthingsfishkeeping Actually, I think Ancistrus claro, LDA008 the Golden Marble Pleco would be better. They only grow to 3 inches & the males change color :)
fullstop, bristlenose
I have 5 in my tank and one being albino and they are no super aggressive and live well together
Can I ask you how many litres? do you only have them? How many males and how many females?
Real characters love them none in liverpool😢
Their behavior is closer to the Bettas than they are to the gouramis.
Thank you❤
Best fish I have ever had! Got mine in a 4ft lowboy heavily planted tank as the centrepiece predatory fish with guppy/endlers, peppered corydoras, amano and neocaridina shrimp. It's a brown bodied, red tailed fish and I have noticed that only blue tailed guppy/endlers are left alone. However, any with red tails don't survive for very long and only the fastest blue tailed ones survive it's predatory nature. I got it specifically to keep the guppy/endlers population in control and it's doing a great job so far. Got many reddish brown vegetation in their too so it just melts into them like camouflage. Awesome fish!
I have a 170cm long tank awaiting beautiful gurami (related) fish and now I'm looking at this fish wondering if it will predate or lethally nip on crystal and amano shrimps that inhabit said tank already.
Yeh easily available nahi hai humare waha😢😢😢😢
I got a couple? The man said at the shop. They were Very happy either when the bag who's just floating. I put them in my community tank for a while. Moved them to a different smaller tank. Very next day bubble nest, now couple of days later got 30 ish paradise fish and I didn't know too much. I only left female in a day or two. Took her out , but now another bubble nest. . Is this correct, 1st time with breeding paradise fish a last month 1st time Ranchu goldfish
Love the fish, but I’ve had 3 males in my life and two were extreamly aggressive, they killed several of my other fish species. Even ones larger than themselves and smaller cichlids. No joke
You never know what type of a personality a fish may have, I guess
Would choose these over koi any day in my outside pond.
The black one is so cute 4:08
I have two in a 20 litre and added 4 guppies from my other tank, all small including two males, and so far the paradise fish havent touched the guppies. There is a dominant one in the pair, but since I’ve got some floating plants and the other fish he’s laid off him a bit.
Although they don’t like anything like the colours in this video, they are lighter blue with a reddish tail
Is it just me or can I never get a pleco to go for an aglea tablet? They ether go over and don’t come back at it, err leave it alone entirely. Even if I feed at night the lights will come on and the tables just dissolved.
I have two Rubber Lips and I've noticed that as well. The only time I ever see them "munching" on the "tablet" is after it's already dissolved for a few days. I do have snails and shrimps that will eat them right away though.
@@hippoafrojagger1392id recommend getting a flat rock and putting it in your tank. Then putting the algae tablet directly on that rock. Even if it desolves some should stay there and the rubber lips will definitely love munching on the flat rock!
I would recommend NorthFin Kelp Wafers. Mine will go and munch on those right away.
I had two paradise gouramis and they were very aggressive to the other fish in the tank. They were in a 38 gallon aquarium and they constantly nipped at the other fish and chase them. These were the only gouramis I ever had that were aggressive.
Yeah, they are probably best kept with only one male in the tank.
If im doing a 40 gallon community tank would you suggest only putting one gourami in? Because ive seen some people saying only one and some saying you should do at least two@@allthingsfishkeeping
I keep my paradise fish with Trigonostigma heteromorpha and some endlers, i put in a feeders ( they were not interested in eating them lol). Sometimes they get attacked by the male when they swim too close to the bubble nest but he did never hurt them
These fish change colors like actual chameleons in a pond. My fish go from blue orange to white yellow . they can also change their whole body color to blend in with yellow and green plants. If you watch them hunt, they actually climb out of the water to catch insects and snails. They are also intelligent fish and definitely recognize me, greetings me by flashing the white they can make (my pond is made from an old tractor tyre, black in color and the fish contrast themselves when they want me to see them). Despite the vivid colors they have amazing ability to camouflage themselves using their chameleon like abilities. My pond is about 1200 liters community cold water, average temp about 15-18 celcius, soft water, continuous slow flow (municipal leak spring ).
how do they go with your other pond mates?
@@timmeh1384 actually they fight amongst themselves, and pretty much dont harass the other three species of fish (ruby barbs, platys, pond loaches). also the capacity of the pond allows enough space for each fish to establish its territory. i do recommend for ponds.
@@ChrisMorton I have a 1200L pond. It has goldfish 2 koi, guppies, platies and empire gudgeons. Will it attack the bigger fish?
@@timmeh1384 no i dont think so...give it some reeds to hide in, it will definitely eat your baby guppies and platies...but everything else is already eating those. give them a go, provide shelter for them, and if possible try to get two females per male (males shouldnt be in the same tank together, but a pond gives sufficient space for separate territories, they tend to attack their own kind)
Beautiful looking fish you got there. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I can't wait to get one.
Great vid. Does your rubber nosed pleco eat the plants in your aquarium?
Thanks! I've never had a rubber lipped pleco eat my plants before.
I just got this fish from PetSmart, not so colorful like yours, looks like a betta
Gotta give it time and treat it right!
I keep mine at 71 degrees. Seems to do very well. I keep mine with 5 zebra dainos and 3 panda cory catfish. They all get along fine.
The solution is NEVER TO USE GRAVEL...use sand - 2-4 inches of it...lessen your feeding...add live plants...period. TRUST ME if you don't, go and ask a biologist.
Correct answer! I totally agree!…a self-sustaining ecosystem in your aquarium is your BEST solution. It works on my aquarium! Wish you the best!!☺️
I have sand and I have such a bad algae bloom what is a suggestion I can do?
That's bs
@kimberlyguaman3330 first not to listen to morons in UA-cam comments 😅
I disagree I've been on years never had a bloom now I do and don't do anything different
They’re AWESOME! I keep 4 (two regular. One Red. And ONE ALBINO) with my 5 “Fancy” Goldfish!
