Your 2024 DOW return is way off. 13% is the correct figure. You may have been thinking of the S&P 500 return instead. Swap out DOW for S&P 500 on row 9 and you will be good to go!

I think you are too diversified. Unless you are trading options on the assets that generate dividends, I think you have too many stocks and dividends. I often look at my reinvested dividends and if I am not buying at least one new share with the reinvested dividends, then I feel like I don’t own enough shares and consider selling all those shares and buying more shares of another asset. Plus I am looking at total returns on each asset and pruning the worst performers. I like the idea of owning at least $10,000 of any one asset. I like the Neos ETFs, SVOL, JEPQ, HTGC, FEPI, ET, ENB, MPLX, the xDTE ETFs, and some YieldMax funds. Armchair Income has an interesting portfolio.

Congrats Dreamer. I am also an income investor with a portfolio 10 times less than yours. My question is why do you have some ETF or stocks with a yield of 3% or less. So you are also a hybrid investor looking for capital appreciation. For me I only start with ETF with a yield above 6%. I am reticent to invest in single stock because we did not had a down market since 2023 and I think that covered calls ETF are safer that a straight ETF like QQQ. Also I found CLO to be a very safe income, the one I like is JAAA and CLOZ with a safe 9% dividend. There I keep my spare cash instead of SPAXX. Good luck in 2025 also.

Stories like this are amazing & impressive. A point that isn’t talked about much is the fact that make no mistake about , money was being POURED into this effort. The adage “it takes $ to make $ “ could never be true it seems. Don’t get wrong, I’m working on it but I’m moving at a pace of about $10K/year. Its going to take years at this rate ⚒️. Hello DD, I have a question or anyone on this who can answer this question for me. When you do cover calls on your 100 shares. and it gets assigned at your strike price. When it gets called away do you get the capital appreciation too or just the premium and loose all that capital appreciation.

As always the answer is “It depends”. As I am now realizing in planning, 401k/403b plans are good from the viewpoint of the company match being “free money”, but obviously it becomes pay now or pay later on the taxes. Also, the effect being a dividend investor is negated when rolling over a 401k/403b into a rollover IRA. Your withdrawals will be taxed as regular income and you lose the capital gain advantage. So, the answer is contribute to get the “free money” match in your 401/403, but also build you traditional account with dividend issues where you can. (If dividend investing is your thing).

I follow your twitter, im a loyal follower and fan. But just want to comment on this video, about the scam thing. It's kind of a scam, it's basically a way to automatically inflate the market by having this crazy amount of money buying into it through "retirement" accounts. They're probably practical for people that dont know what they're doing and wont save on their own. And if your company matches anything at all, it's worth doing that in my opinion. But the products within most 401k plans are awful. It will not grow as fast as your own individual brokerage account with simple index tracking funds like SPY/VOO or whatever, if you had started them both at the exact same time. If it works for people though, im happy for them
