THE PROBLEM IS THE ECU NEEDS TO BE CODED CORRECTLY. IT DOES NOT RECOGNIZE THE THROTTLE BODY WITHOUT CORRECT CODING. THERE IS PROBABLY CAN COMMUNICATION CODES IN ASR /ESP MODULE . IF IT REFUSES TO LEARN THE THROTTLE STOP AND WOT POSITION THEN THE ECU IS TOAST OR NOT CODED RIGHT. ONLY CERTAIN MB SOFTWARE / HAREWARE LIKE VEDIAMO OR STAR DIAGNOSTIC TOOL CAN PERFORM IT .

I got it off using a long reach 13 mm with a swivel head as it’s not in the easiest of places to remove but you still have to move all the air pipes and a bunch of wiring just to get to it

I like Toyota engineering. But I love how Honda handled how they implemented their intake manifold of their V6 engine. For less fuss to get to things, and performing a spark plug job on a Honda V6 is a 20min job if you’re going to slow.

Hey bro, could you help me out man. Ive been looking everywhere for a fix for my SLK 230, the transmission wont shift but it seems to be an electrical issue with the control module in the gear shifter but i replaced it with a brand new part. Still has the same problem, any words of wisdom?

What were your original starting issues? Just a no start? My starter made a bit of noise last time it worked and nothing after that.

Hello, do you have the part number for the fronts? Also this video is a few years old how are the brakes holding up?

I had the same problem when the CPS malfunctioned. You can tell it is the CPS when the tachometer reads 0 rpm when cranking. This will also cause the transmission to go into limp mode. Disconnect the negative battery prior to removing the CPS. Install the new sensor and connect the battery lead. Start engine and check engine light will not be present as it was before. This fixed the problem of crank no start and transmission going into limp mode. It also threw a ABS code and this also went away.

I had the same issue. Now, my CAS is fried so it still won’t start. Is there a way to bypass that with a 12V switch that activates the starter motor directly?

just did mine i tried dropping the sub frame only a couple inches but was still to high and blocked by the sway bar so I ended up dropping the subframe all the way i do have a 2.3 hatch maybe it makes a difference but i doubt it.

Okay, how can you test the CAS before finding out it’s fried; and that was the reason why it couldn’t start after the fact cause the bad ground caused it in the first place. ???

My wife’s 03 SLK 230 does this about once every 3-4 months. She stops at a traffic light and the engine suddenly quits. She’ll put it into park to restart and nothing happens. It won’t start, can’t put the car into neutral to push it out of the road. Then I must drive my Jeep over to jump it but that doesn’t help, nothing wrong with the newer battery. I open the drivers door with my wife sitting in the drivers seat,while in Park, I rock the car forward and back about three times, close the drivers door again and then my wife can start her car again and drive home, lol. It seems to happen at the worst possible times and makes her scared. I feel it could be some kind of sensor and can’t find any info to that just yet? Anyone heard of this? 73 and Aloha! 🤙🏻

I have to replace the radiator support bracket on my 2014. I was told that it’s welded in? Did you not have to cut weld anything? Did you remove it fully just by bolts? Any information would help. Thanks!
