You're overthinking this. Jingle all the way is a wholesome 90's Christmas movie with little to none subversive elements for the era that was filmed. The film ages well and the goofiness of it gives it its charm. It’s a fun, ridiculous movie. It's not that deep.

I disagree. Jingle All The Way is a wholesome film. Jamie rejects a manufactured role model in favour of his own father. There’s a far more subversive kids film that came out the same year and paved the way for where we are now culturally. It’s called Toy Story. There is no father in Toy Story.
