Home Lease Keeps Giving
We spent a few days exploring our home lease.
Even after three years, there are many areas we haven’t detected or even seen. It’s a rugged and hilly area.
Thanks to assistance from Reeds Prospecting,

Gold nuggets under the heaps at the end of old pushing.

Super Lee, bought his backhoe to our lease to cut some trenches. While we had the machine I asked him to flatten some dirt heaps as we had found nuggets right up to the base of the heaps. We found a few nuggets which covered the cost of the hire and a bit to spare. We thank the support of Reeds prospecting, with advice and equipment supplies. A busy day, with a variety of targets. Deb found a small patch, which I had to help her dig. Eventually I found a couple of nuggets after finding junk, which saved the day for me. Weigh up at the end to see who won. Yes it’s a competition.🤣 g.co/kgs/cyKo1F9 Reeds Prospecting Supplies (08) 9250 3388

We took the Algoforce E1500 with us on our last trip. We took some time tuning it to run on the highly mineralised Western Australian ground. We tried the Nugget Finder 12x8 Evolution coil at first, we weren’t happy with the results. We changed to the Coiltek 14x9 elite mono and got a satisfactory result. While testing the New Algoforce E1500, I inadvertently placed a large nugget quite shallow to test this new machine. When I ran the GPX 6000 over the same nugget, the 6000 didn’t hear it in “difficult”. Wiggly lines. This is evidence the GPX6000 has a dead zone in difficult. The GPX6000 heard it clearly in “normal” Straight lines.

    I actually heard the nugget so many times as you passed by it like a race car driver with the g.m!..i kinda think it frustrates you that its kinda noisy to your liking!..we love that thing here in Arizona!..nice and slow!..your dirt sucks!..but so does ours!😂🌵⛏️🤘

      Maybe you did hear the nugget. Remember we knew it was there. The other detector clearly identified it. Imagine if we didn’t and have to cover large areas to uncover the odd random nugget. You don’t have time to go over the same spot multiple times. That’s why a Pi detector is a clear winner in this type of ground. Thanks for your input 👍

    One thing I will say if the 1500 had a audio boost upgrade along with an EVO 12x8 or 14x9 I think it would be deadly. I have a 7 and have been holding back on a 6 for the reason it is noisy all hell. I think if someone has a 7 and wants something for smaller bits then the 1500 can't be overlooked. I would love to try a SP01 along with the 1500. 😘

      I have fitted an SP01 and have tried a few head phones and with the latest software update it seems really sharp. We are heading up to our lease tomorrow, so in the next week or so I will see how it goes. I am taking a new 9” round CT with me, I haven’t tried it yet. This machine has a very good interface with lots of options for sensitivity, sounds, gold mode’s etc. it’s actually a fun machine to play with. I don’t think it’s up to the level of a 6000 yet, but it’s gets better with every update. Thanks for the comment. 👍

      @@goldfools5445 I guess end of the day if it picks up smaller stuff that the 7 miss's then its game on. I don't know that it has to up to the level of the 6 but as a second machine that should pay for itself very quickly its an option for many. A follow up video would be great.

    • @goldfools5445
      @goldfools5445 4 дні тому

      @robmadaffari6270 yes mate. I didn’t really need this machine, I bought it to try it out. The 14x9 CT elite has been the best. I bought a second hand 12x8 evo and it seems erratic. Maybe I bought a dud. I will try to get hold of another one to verify whether it’s the coil issue or the machine doesn’t like such a sensitive coil. Even my dry run in the backyard with the 9” CT elite round seems a bit flakey whereas the 14x9 is rock solid. I put it down to EMI. Anyway I will do up a follow up video “ if I can find some gold” 😉

    Cheers for the video and your time to show the Algo. Not too bad but for me it falls short on depth but for shallow gold on small nuggys its pretty good for the $$. Nokta detection is bringing out their first PI so really keen to see how that goes. Cheers.

    • @goldfools5445
      @goldfools5445 22 дні тому

      For a first PI detector, I think it’s great. I have a 6000 and a 7000. I reckon 90% of the gold I get with these machines the Algo would get. So if you have a tight budget and you want a fun machine that can double as a coin and relic machine. It’s hard to go past. If you have plenty of money then a 6000 is the go.

    • @goldfools5445
      @goldfools5445 26 днів тому

      Thanks for your comment. I think the 17” is a must for your arsenal. Especially if you are wanting to cover a lot of ground. The signals are softer than the 11” so you have to listen a bit harder. That said though, it definitely punches deeper, on small and larger nuggets. The only downside, it misses those really tiny sub 0.08 and below. I only used it on one trip so far and I find it very productive.

      It’s amazing that the detector can have those dead zones. A a frequent user of the 6000, it’s not as cut and dry as it seems. There are certain grounds that running in normal is the only way. What I do, is run in normal. If I get a signal, change to difficult. If there is absolutely no signal, dig if you want. If there is the very slightest signal, I would definitely dig. Once the depth has changed, you will know if it’s a target or not.

      They have just released another update. I installed this morning and it’s a definite improvement. It’s a fun machine to use. I would be cautious about about expecting it to out perform the SDC. It will be better than the 4500 on small stuff but it’s not great on depth with bigger nuggets. That said, 90% of the gold I find would be in the range of the Algo. If you are after a big performance machine though, you can’t go past a 6000 or a 7000. Irrespective of cost.

    Thanks for video. In the 27 minute instructional video released by @diggingwithphasetech for the Algo it says to use the normal and large gold setting when in heavily mineralised ground. See at 15m10sec. So given you’re using the ultra and fine gold setting that maybe be causing problems (especially for 8x6.)

    • @goldfools5445
      @goldfools5445 Місяць тому

      TBH the 12x8 nugget finder coil I have, which I bought second hand might be faulty. I tried all gold modes. The 14 x 9 coiltek elite runs much better. I have more Algoforce videos than this one. This was the first use of it on actual live gold targets. What you see is a few minutes of edited videos. I spent a fair bit of time with all the different settings. I got it running pretty good in the end. Having the 6000 as a control makes it easier to fine tune.

    Before you walk away from your site, I assume that you will bring in your placer testing equipment and determine how much gold per cubic yard is in it? I dont really see much gravel there. Looks to me to be decomposed bedrock with a little gravel near bedrock.

    • @goldfools5445
      @goldfools5445 Місяць тому

      We may pan a bit out to test. We are not really going to process the dirt. We are looking for detectable nuggets in the gravel above the bedrock / cap. We found some when we detected the bottom of the trench. This was just a test cut to plan if any future excavation worthy.

    • @waltertodd4479
      @waltertodd4479 Місяць тому

      Appreciate you getting back to me...that red color soil could have more nuggets in it but until you dig it up and lay it out flat enough to metal detect you'll never know. Alot of Australia is precambrian bedrock that has been lying in place, weathering out for billions of years. I guess you could always start out detecting a small area first and expand outwards, and when the money runs out, then move on. Problem with that is gold nuggets occur very irregularly, and the next one will just be out of reach to make it pay for the backhoe and operator. Good Luck!

      I guess you could also metal detect the nuggets and figure out the spacing and the depth of them to determine whether or not its even worthwhile continuing the dig. Backhoes and operators aren't cheap especially in the bush.

      My thought is that the geologic model of the nuggets there is gold weathering out of the decomposing bedrock rather than an ancient stream channel like you said in the video for what it's worth.

      @waltertodd4479 we have found many ounces in that area just surface detecting. What you are telling us to do is exactly what we are doing. Did you watch the video all the way through. We found a nugget right at the end of the trench. We also found a nugget in the bottom of the trench. While the backhoe was there I got him to flatten a couple of piles we had pushed up earlier. Those activities more than paid for the machine hire. Hiring the machine was carefully calculated, we don’t like to spend money we can’t recoup. The machine is from a nearby lease, so we only hire for a couple of hours at a time.

    What is your opinion about algo and 2300 comparison. Which do you think would be better.cheers Russell.

      As far as gold finding ability, I would say they are similar. The Algo is a lot lighter and better ergonomically to use. The SDC is a very robust machine, would be able to take more abuse. The SDC is fully waterproof.. in my opinion, if you already have the SDC, I wouldn’t recommend then buying the Algo. If you don’t have anything and are starting out or upgrading from a VLF, I personally would pick the Algo for the ease of physical use and the fun of using all the settings and tech. In short, they are both good but not great. I see the Algo as something that will get better. The SDC is old tech that works well.

      From what ive seen and heard from friends that have the Algo punches deeper and is picking gold the sdc is missing. Plus its lighter and half the price

      @Johnny_Mac_ that’s what you have heard. I hear a lot of things as well. I would rather test myself and get the real answer.
