Atomic Fab HD Tensioner Adjustment
This video shows my heavy duty belt tensioner setup and how to properly size the belt for the best performance. This is also for high-RPM or high-power turbo setups even though I didnt mention them.
Can be purchased from my site here: atomicfabandperformance.com/product/hdtensioner/
Different pulley setups will require different belt lengths. The easiest thing is to order/buy several then return the ones you don't use.

4L80e Ladder Truck Transmission Teardown after failure
Переглядів 19510 місяців тому
Brent Wassom of Spanish Fork, UT took a video while did the teardown inspection of my transmission after the failure at the last race. His video has a done of useful information and helpful hints. He is doing the rebuild and after his assembly and round of upgrades I should have a transmission that will be a solid unit for many years. This transmission had many builders in it over the years so ...
AFP Ladder Truck is BACK!

It's been a long time but finally got a round of upgrades together to make a full-size truck race in Fulton MS. There were 35 FAST full size trucks there. I drew the bear (big whipple 5.0 10-spd F150) in both classes but managed a win both times. The truck did great but had a transmission failure so couldn't finish the day. This video is a compliation of all the videos I could find of my races,...
AFP 99-18 GM Truck Internal Fuel Surge Tank
Переглядів 1,1 тис.Рік тому
I made this video to show the details of my newest product - an internal fuel surge tank for the 99-18 GM trucks using the factory fuel tank. This is a fully enclosed tank that fits inside the stock returnless style (2004 and later) fuel tank without any modification. This completely prevents any sort of fuel pump starvation or fuel sloshing regardless of main fuel tank level without having to ...

Big turbos equals big disappointments for the work truck
Переглядів 5953 роки тому
Took off the supercharger as part of the compound setup and the turbos spec'd for that are too large for the current setup. Never thought I would say I need smaller turbos! Even sitting at 4000rpm on the 2step the big snails never come up how I need them to.

Atomic Fab 99-06 GM Harness Bar
Переглядів 3,8 тис.4 роки тому
I go over the parts and installation of my bolt-in harness bar for GM 99-06 trucks. This is mainly to be used in conjunction with my seat brackets for a 4 or 5 point racing harness. A harness bar is a safer alternative to mounting the shoulder straps per NHRA guidelines to safely redirect the force directly back during an impact. Pierburg CWA400 as Intercooler Pump for Atomic Fab Compound Boost Silverado
Переглядів 3,1 тис.4 роки тому
I talk about the CWA400 pump I switched to for my intercooler setup over the winter from the 3x bosch pumps and engine bay water tanks I was using. Best place to get one of these pumps is ebay or a salvage yard as you want to make sure you get a real one and not a counterfeit. It MUST have a PWM signal and will not work if you simply hook 12v to it. This is scarier than it sounds, just get a PW...

Would this kit work on an 08 Avalanche tank? I know the opening will work but wondering about the depth for the can and the level sender.
Does the controller have memory? Like if I wire to ignition power will it turn on with the settings saved?
What size welding machine did you use? I mostly tig everything. So my migraines machine is only 140amps. I dont think thats enough. I dont want to chance. What do you think?
The brackets are 1/4" thick but I think the tube wall on the axle and crossmember is closer to 1/8, so its a maybe depending on technique. I use a miller 255 or 252.
@@atomic178 ya I think I just need to buy a stronger mig machine. Not worth trying it and it being too cold. Thanks for the response.
did I miss the fuel level sender portion?
Not sure its in the video but I include a separate assembly to mount one in the tank
Completely random but can you fab up some tb 4.2 solid mounts or poly😅
Trx raptor killer!!!
That thing is sick!!! Nice work bro!!!…..just looking at that old work truck you would never have a clue what its packin’ very impressive
You should show more of your leveled caliber kits for the obs Chevys and think about facing up custom upper and lower control arms for us k1500s we get no love anymore 😢
$300 or so for the kit is great and seems a hell of an improvement over stock. When replacing the tensioner is this a Cummins part number? I read over the website but I may have missed that detail.
What line lock you running?
just installed your tensioner on my 6.0 Supercharged Ls and it fixed my belt issue. Great part , wish i would have found this before spending thousands to address this issue.😊
When you make the Steel Replacement assembly for the Twist in Slave Master Cyl what keeps the Slave Master from Unscrewing, Friction or a Detent Notch? Thank You.
the new stock oem tensioners have 2 mounting holes now.
Yea the newer truck (14+) belt setups are completely different, this is just for LS trucks
@@atomic178 oops, I should have been more specific. I meant LS trucks. this tensioner looks really impressive.
Love my tensioner! Thanks Richard!
I remember many years ago when I asked u about one of these! Great work Richard!
Your two wheel drive kits should work with a lowered 2wd suburban that came stock with torsion bars as well right?
No, the two wheel drive kit is really for 2wd coil spring trucks. Anything with torsion bars needs the 4wd torsion bar kit regardless of 2wd or 4wd.
Been looking at getting these solid mounts for my 2012 Tahoe. Engine is cammed and shakes a bit do you think this will vibrate to much?
I would recommend the poly mounts instead, They are easier to install and more forgiving and still good for 1500hp+ strength wise.
Will they work on middle row in a Tahoe
Anything for a 2011? This is sick
Anti seize is bad for bearings? Should probably use grease if anything
Just installed your design in my 2005 silverado today. Such a nice piece and now I have total confidence in my clutch pedal. I broke the plastic one about 7 years ago. I knew it was only a matter of time before that factory plastic was gonna fail again. Thanks for making a solution to that problem spot!
Glad you like it! Thanks
How much for lower brakes I just want put regular qa1 double adjustable shocks .I have a 3 inch drop
Do you have a video for the 2wd weld in kit you sell thats what i bought
Mine broke twice...
Nice build! Not sure if your setup is still the same as in this video, as it's a few years old, but I run a similar setup with a pair of cwa250 pumps. I run one inch lines and the two pumps overcome the added resistance from the smaller lines without an issue. The main difference that I wanted to note is I also included 5 volt reference as an input for my pwm controller to reference. So I hooked up a generic 3 bar map sensor and that signal feeds my pwm controller. So I can have the pumps be off at idle or vacuum and the flow scales up with boost. So my water flow is boost referenced and this helps keep my cold water cold for longer because I'm not cooling the air that doesn't need to be cooled. I only need cooling when I'm under boost and any other time the water's flowing it's just warming it up even though I'm not trying to make any power. Since doing this I've been able to switch from a 10 gallon ice box to a 5-gallon ice box, saving about 80 pounds. There's a guy on eBay selling a controller with an integrated 5 volt input reference so it has everything you need in one compact unit. A little intimidating to set up but his instructions on the eBay listing are adequate for getting it up and running without too much hassle. I recommend giving it a try, although it's significantly more expensive than the $12 controller you use, he asks for about 80 bucks for his controller. But it's worth the money in my opinion for having adequate control of your flow to preserve your cold air for when you actually want it. The other edition that I made to my setup is an intercooler sprayer over my heat exchanger in the front to amplify the cooling of the water circuit if you're doing back-to-back runs where you might get heat soak in your water circuit. Anyway just wanted to share a couple things that other people who see your video might find value in when they're optimizing their A2W system
That sounds awesome! Have the link?
Where can I get?
www.atomicfp.com
Do you have for 1990 gmt400 trucks? Chevy?
Great idea bro i think i am going too call tomorrow for a pair for my obs truck
Can these be used on a daily driver?
Yes, they work fine, but generally I recommend the poly mounts for daily drivers. They are easier to install and more forgiving.
Brilliant design.
Where can I buy one Need it for 02 Sierra 1500 v6

What about the all metal clutch pedal and all on ebay? For $250?im trying to figure how to get that bracket in without having to remove the dash? @@atomic178
Is it sturdy enough if it’s just the harness bar?
I have been looking at you’re coil over kit for my 03 avalanche, haven’t pull trigger to buy it just yet, finances aren’t in right place to do it just yet
Will these brackets and seats work with the factory middle seat and console?
I use mine with a factory center console which fits fine. Never tried a middle seat though. That may look weird between 2 race seats.
Can this be installed on an avalanche? I’m also doing a t56/ AWD conversion and will be using the front 4/5” coil over kit you’ve created. More than likely going with the 14 bolt semi-floating rear as well so I’d assume getting them welded on PRE install would be the best option or would mounting the 14 bolt semi-floating rear end in first be best?
Would this work with a stock height truck
Yes
I was going to do the torch method but for fire reasons I pulled the line out and now I am just going to bend all new copper Nickle line, they flare easier. I do not use the universal double flare tool, I have the 1/4 inch specific one and still can’t stop it from slipping.
How good are these I need some for a 8.1 496 big block vortec with a Allison trans
Is your conversion could not encounter clashing?
Try to grind away a light layer of material on the inside of one of the dies. This will allow it to squeeze the tube a little more. Not to much as you will crimp and make it so the fitting will not slide down to the flare. Hope this helps.
Do the poly mounts really reduce vibration? I just picked up a Colorado with the V8 been getting it dialed in, runs good, just needed a lot of attention because of a little neglect. I bought the Energy Suspension trans mount, next is the motor mounts..
I want to do a t56 swap on my truck wish you guys made transmission cross member for the Silverado
I heard the nv3500 stock cross member also works
Did those top brackets end up hitting the bottom of the bed?
No, when welded level with the frame they have approximately 1" of space to the bed. On the passenger side you may need to remove or trim the heat shield if you need additional clearance.
Sounds badass!
Are the ihc compatible lower brackets available now ?
Yes, my "djm" bracket works just as well on ihc arms
Very cool build who cares if it’s been done before. You’re doing it and learning how to make the setup better from your own experiences. I’m working on a similar project but on a ford platform and hope I can make it as cool as yours.
I think your problem is wastegate are to big
I actually think I had the wastegates hooked up backwards on the s475s. Doh!
Logs look good
lol, hope that ladder is tied down well. The 4wd burnouts are crazy looking
