I get the feeling this is a design of purpose. How else would someone get humans up and going on what will be our future. There are some very intelligent beings designing this space craft...and all based on science and technology... I am very impressed. A true simulator of human purpose

I am going to state multiple massive issue. This game will feel boring after a really really short time. In reality the button pressing will get so repetitive that people will get annoyed. Also the screens are too bland and too small to deal with. The planets don't have any real interaction to then. The ships are literally designed like a fucking dart board to where aim anywhere and you will destroy the ships. Also the game is blatantly a huge map with blatantly nothing in it except on the ship which requires so many parts that you will in reality require way too many people to keep in operation that in reality you are going to need hundreds upon hundred of bots which will require so much programming that the game will require way too much data to the point no one will download it do to computer requirements. To put it bluntly the game has so much in such tiny areas that the game is more like a hub just to hang out without any actual real game play. Each ship will require around 200 entities in them which nearly 100% will be bots which means the game will be a shitty aircraft shooting game where you can't move fast no shoot fast no will you be able to see anything which will then need to what little amount of real players getting pissed off at how over complicated the game play is for no real anything. Basically from what I see right now its a dumpster fire and a serious waste of money and its not even out yet. I am just being honest. This is a scam. A way to steal shit tons of cash and release an unfinished pile of garbage. I am calling it as I see it.

I'm not entirely sure but I have watched a few of the old and new films from Star Trek and from what I can tell that when the ships are docked at the orbital stations of the factory area where the ships get built and repaired you time C and a biblical cord connecting the ship to the main station I believe that's how the ship gets its power when the warp core is offline and there's no generators running I could be wrong but I believe that's what it's for but other then that it looks like a really good game gives you a good understanding of how a ship starts up from a cold start when it's been offline for quite a while

I love star trek online and have played the heck out of it.

Worst part of Star Trek online (not counting wooden, ugly character models and dull colours) is the fact that Tutorial is best part of it. There is crew voice speaking, some real tense, something's happen, you feel like you are into something big...and then...all it gone, no one cares about playing, about feeling like you are in Star Trek World, go, shoot, end TFO set Admirality and close the game, back tomorrow to set new admirality, make endeavours and bbs...:(

What the other video at the end&beginning of this video. You should gotten a new ship. Instead of that horrible Miranda class that’s been in service since the Kirk era. Hmm suggestion: like a nebula class,galaxy class,intrepid class,Excelsior class. (Sovereign class questionable). Or one of those ships with cloaking abilities. But not the defiant class. But I heard you could buy a class ship. You couldn’t command it until you’ve reach a pacific rank.👈🏻Which was one of many laundry lists of issues ppl had. But that’s all I know.

It looks like to me. That every class has a different story. Tactical has Klingons,engineers have borg&IDK bout science. But that as far as I know. These story is really interesting.

From these videos: Your assigned to a Miranda class vessel. Which has limited amount of capabilities. And the player doesn’t have any right to choose what ship he/she/etc serves on. The tiers and fast ranking. Which are a couple of things on much larger list. The story is wonderful. Should have been a lot later after the player character graduate from Starfleet Academy. But apparently that’s not how it turned out.

I played the mission where you find Taris and she escapes through the Iconian gateway some years ago before it was removed from games the story. This mission was also completely different, you used to beam into the areas covered by the shield on the planet fragment and had to do several things with the equipment there, and it was a separate mission from the one on Iconia.

This game looks fun.

Researcher Rescue is one of the oldest missions in the game, around since the games initial release and has seen several updates and changes, not suprised some things have borked. One thing I still miss is some researchers when rescued declare "I live to research another day!" Used to be an ingame achievement for putting out all the fires on the station, another thing they removed.

So when are you going to see other players online?

Been a while since I had played STO, but whichever player and faction you start playing you always work with the same NPCs.
