I grew up just South of Sun Valley. Started skiing there at age 9. I know every corner. Some of the best Diamonds I have ever skied are at Sun Valley. It’s known for its groomed cruising runs. But I have skied all over Europe and America and for steep expert bump runs if you’re lucky and can catch a fresh 3’ snow! Limelight, Exhibition, is the steepest wildest mogul runs you will ever ski! I have helicopter skied in Utah and Idaho. But the big ski resorts in my opinion are out pricing their clients. Sun Valley caters to the wealthy. When I was a kid locals could ski for $19. The lines were packed. Today a ski pass can cost $200. By the looks of your video there are very few people skiing. I think the resorts are starting to price people out. It is going to start cutting people out. Fewer customers no matter what you charge. Eventually no customers. I can’t afford to ski there any more. Who can take their family skiing every Saturday and spend $1000 of dollar every trip. I had 4 season passes there. In the 80s they were $800 I skied 96 days in 82. Today a season pass is $3000. Not sure what 24/25 season passes are now.

I had a bad experience on the slopes in January of 2023--nothing but icy, hardpacked snow and way too runs in the shade. Bald Mountain is for advanced to expert skiers only. No one in our Chicago area ski group said they wanted to go back to Sun Valley in the future.

My first trip to Ragged was with our ski club in January. It was a mystery trip so we didn’t know where we were heading until halfway through the bus ride. No worries 😉. It was a chilly but fun day!

The view from the top of Baldy is worth the price of the life ticket and the skiing is a nice bonus

and if you ever come back try going to Seattle and doing fire trail or sunrise bowls

Hi Aanika.. love your channel - you're such a good narrator and you make some fine-looking turns. Btw .. I have some friends that are pretty successful on UA-cam and I've learned that the "name is often the game". And I think your channel could grow much quicker if people can remember the name. Like if you had your channel name something like The joy of Skiing... Then people can remember oh I love that channel what was it called .. and then subscribe and tell others. You could still keep the channel you have but start a new channel with the same content and then if that channel goes faster you can refer everybody from your current channel to that channel. Aanika is such a lovely name and perfect for shredding. Yet if somebody doesn't get the spelling right it'll be hard for them to find it on a search engine. I'm just sharing this because you have such good content and I would love you to have a lot more subscribers. Plus I really love you showing us viewers different mountains .. I got over 200 Days in at Mammoth Mountain a couple years ago that was pretty epic. All the best to you.. ciao 4 now

December 27, 2023 Should be snowing in Montana. Clear in CO at 5 PM Weds. Dec. 27.. 10 F. At 07OO am. Try Monarch ski area 25 miles west of Poncha Springs, CO.

For some reason this video reminds me of a hotel I stayed at when I rode the divide. Elk horn hot springs, in southern Montana, it was $50 per night and there’s some sking near by, cannot remember the ski hill but you have to stay at elk horn, it was so weird there!
