@VoltronWatts What are your predictions for the speed? 50MPH? Do you think a 60V will work with the Motor though the Motor is rated for 72V.

I’d hope for 45-50 or close to it with a battery only upgrade. A lot of that depends on gearing. With the motor and battery maybe 50-55. Just guessing tho.

What Mcfaster said. As far as the wheels, they will fit but likely not a direct bolt up. Espicially the rear. But I could be wrong. One might have to make wheel spacers. BUT, they could bolt up also. 😂🤷

Yes, you do need a tune if you change the battery from 48v 21ah to a 60v 21ah with decent cells. To understand why, you must understand the very basics of how a controller works. Let’s assume you already set your fardrive for TURN AND BURN, so line amps are raised from 50a stock to 70a. If we assume the 48v pack will sag to 50v (for easy math), the stock max watts was 2500w and now it’s 3500w. The DC watts going in get converted into phase amps, more watts in, more potential phase amps out. This would have been shown if anyone did a proper tune and used the GRAPH page of the fardriver app. At the same time peak watts was increased, the one of the MOST IMPORTANT protection features was bypassed, the RPM. When MaxSpeed was increased from 3500 to 6000, 9000, 12000, that feature is now TOTALLY DISABLED. And speed control will now be the responsibility of the Ratios in speed table. So when you increase all ratios in speed to anything over 50%, you disabled that too, because Ratios in speed limits PHASE CURRENT, not LINE CURRENT. And anyone who takes the time to use the fardriver app correctly, will see with 70a@50v the phase current will be around 60a-80a at higher rpm. So 80% of 240a like many blindly set, is 192a limit, way above what’s possible with this controller. So NOW, you add a 60v battery, and 60v * 70a is 4200 watts. Now we have 4200 watts able to be converted into phase amps, ans it will bw higher phase amps than the 48v battery gave. Now you have a motor with advertised peak power range of up to 3000w, with UNRESTRICTED access to 4200watts. This will make everything involved run hot. The battery cells, the controller, the motor, the battery cables (AWG12 stock) and the phase wires. The motor seems to have a temperature sensor (won’t know until someone actually makes a Fardriver video), and it’s set to 150c. So if the hottest part of the winding is near that one sensor, there is a chance the fardriver will save the day and shut down, but if the hottest winding is far away, and you melt the varnish on some adjacent windings, the motor will burn. Anytime you change something that affects power, you MUST do a test run with while screen recording fardriver app on Graph to see what the motor and controller temps are doing. You will see many small kids who use the turn and burn settings and because they are light and small and operating on flat roads, and stopping periodically to cool down, they will say its a safe tune. But if a 200lb 6 foot tall monster rides the bike up a long hill, the motor will likely overheat. Anyone who says they “tuned” there Fardriver without running the graph page and reading the results, did NOT tune it. Im 150 lbs and very aerodynamic, and theres no hills near me, so I can use more aggressive settings than someone tall, wide and 200 lbs who has hills in his area. So Tune it, test it after and significant change. If it overheats just doing jackrabbit starts and stops, reduce max LINE amps. If it overheats at max cruise speed, reduce maximum allowed rpm with PROPER Ratios in speed settings and MaxSpeed. If I tuned every single Tuttio owned by viewers of this video, they would ALL be different. Aside from the difference in driver weight and bulk and riding terrain, there is: Ambient temperature: 10c you can set things hotter than 30c in the shade where I am. Owner’s bank account balance: this is one of the biggest factors. The factory settings are very protective of that piggy bank. These TURN AND BURN settings are for those who don’t need the bike, can afford to replace it. Lastly, there is no such thing as a master tune for this bike, as explained above. Anyone blindly copying turn and burn settings will burn something up. So if you use Turn and Burn, mount your Phone on the bike, open the fardriver app, and go to the GRAPH page, and monitor motor temps. When it gets to 100c, ease up and let it cool some.
