Garmin fenix 6x solar (DEAD)!!
My Garmin Fenix 6x pro solar is dead beyond repair!! according to Garmin, where is our right to repair!?? memory failure problem will not allow it to boot. Garmin would only offer a replacement at a reduced cost which had a 90 day warranty! and also wanted me to send my watch in, to repair, why not just sell the parts. ahhh!!!

Got the same issue with my Garmin fenix 6 saphire after a software update, it kept indicating dodgy time and would not sync time properly, and at some point during another software update, it just went into a infinite cycle of black screen and blue triangle. Connected on the charger or not. I tried all the recommended tricks to get it going again but nothing worked. My very Expensive watch (well over 1000 euros) worked about 3 years ... A lot of money for a nice "smart" warch that works only sloghtly longer than its planned warranty. That's it I have already bought far too many garmins over the years, and all have ended up with a failing electronic part. Garmin is probably designing its products with some kind of Programmed obsolescence like many other so-called high tech manufacturers these days. But this bunch of crooks won't fool me again, they will never get a dime from me ever, and i will ensure they get the publicity they deserve. They just need to be slapped by more capable and honnest competitors.

Same problem. I bought a Fenix 6 pro 3 1/2 years ago. The 1st watch died after 2 years (just outside of warranty). Had to pay £150-200 for a replacement/reconditioned watch 13months ago. That has also done the same thing (triangle of death). No more Garmins for me!!!

  • @cliffbowen5185

Standard business model, most manufacturers don't repair (they leave it to 3rd party repairers). Original batteries are made too maximum size that will be fit in the watch case which often means weird shapes. 3rd party replacement batteries usually sized to a more standardized range of sizes. Smart watches are just like mobile phones, ie after say 4 years, once a phone needs a new battery or screen most people will want a new phone with all the new must have features. I wouldn't even consider sending my iPhone or Samsung back to China/Korea for a new battery! Plenty of independents either locally or online that do reasonably priced repairs.

I never. purchase nor will I ever do any kind of business with purchasing or referring purchasers to GARMIN, as they deliberately simply for profit will not change batteries etc! As GARMIN will sell watches solar in excess of $2000.00 plus! Where every other smart GARMIN compatible watches all have replaceable batteries, especially whence damages occur, as they are at large watches that are for military use & adventurism use! Also GARMIN only manufactures unique non-compatible charge cable connections & has no universal standard architecture like USB connection protocol, therefore it is by market standards, rendered at least over 20 years outmoded, just like the old well & truly technically outmoded Nokia mobile charge cable connections, of which Nokia & the old Samsung protocols played it smart & now like virtually all mobile technology, they all use standard charging architectures of USB by default, as well as other wireless charging protocols! GARMIN has changed/ evolved very little with the modern revolution of battery & charge protocol’s & is well & truly out of the race & has fallen easily 20 years behind all of it smart watch manufacturing competition! However, the market is still being used by mere novices & ignorant people that have neither an idea that GARMIN watch batteries unlike virtually 100% their competition, actually does not have a removable battery nor a battery replacement scheme like the rest of its competition! But with all the current smart watch manufacturing now in competition against GARMIN, has heavily undermined Garmin’s complacency upon the matter & have & are heavily advertising their replaceable battery services & multiple charging compatibilities! Myself cancelled a $1900.00 plus GARMIN watch of the Felix solar equivalent whence I found out that my watch would have to be disposed of in approximately 5 years or so! Thus to pay for any Watch of that cost magnitude knowing that I would have to throw it away after its battery dies, was simply not going to happen in my lifetime! I mean I have multiple watches worth a base costs & more of $1000.00 & they are also solar rechargeable as well battery replaceable & I certainly would have a heart attack to spend that kind of money when there is no market for battery replacements or part replacements! When you purchase any watch brand of that cost magnitude, you are simply by market expectations to keep them for life, certainly not to throw them away????????????? So GARMIN is definetly not on my watch purchasing radar until they modify & pull their product forward in time from the ancient market protocols & consumer expectations in line with their Kickass competition that’s out there wiping the floor with them!
