Do you recommend this one or the copperlock richlite (full size) they’re about the same price but i already got a sak so there’s no point on getting non locking blade but i really love that bone bermuda green! 🤦🏻♂️
Dang. Might have to get me one of those. Looks like it performed even better than the cane machete I been using. Looks cooler too.
Nice. Like that pattern. I got a rough rider half hawk with glow in the dark scales. But that Case there is the real deal. I think you are right about reversing the grip on the swayback handle to cut cordage like on a ship or working on a loom. I do that with hawkbills to maintain grape vines and tomato plants and such.
They will make it right, get a hold of them.
i wear the CEO with my suits, it's a nice dress knife
thank you for the video big al 👍 be well
THANKS !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Davey Crockett would be proud of you and the SZCO Bowie Knife too , Nice hat , 🤠
I have a Topper model 88 20 gauge full choke I got when I was 10 years old. I must have put thousands of shells through it. I even took it to school for show and tell.

👍 A great shotgun, but you are right it does thump your shoulder. The recoil pad should help a lot with that, it does on mine. I have both a 12 gauge H&R and a 20 gauge. Very nice look at yours, I hope you are still enjoying it. Shame on Remington for shutting H&R down!
I looked at one of those the other day at the hardware store I think I’m gonna go back and take a closer look
Thanks for that review my friend. That knife looks like it would look so awesome if you forced an intricate artistic pattern on it with Sriracha sauce. I have done several high carbon steel blades with Mustard and also with Sriracha and I really like what Sriracha does to the metal when it forms a Patina. Try it! I just ordered my Moonshiner. It arrives this week. Cheers and thank you again. Just subscribed to your channel.
For those who don’t like the opening mechanism, (thumb flip) you should check out the CRKT LCK+ Large, it’s got a little flipper ridge on the spine, a lot safer feeling when opening the knife for me
Even as late as 2003, it was a huge difference to 2013, to now, 2013 is a big difference to now
Big for edu😮
I have the same one. I can see the blade chipping if you're chopping wood with it.
I’ve got both of them and I love the leather as well as the knives. My Bowie needs some tuning up. The upper swedge has really bad grind marks all along the upper edge. I can take care of that. My HB needs a reformed edge and again, I can take care of that. Good idea to treat the wood. Thanks for the tip! 👍
I have the 316-5 which is just the 5 ince version of this one. Bad ass knife. I love it. Can get it razor sharp and itll stay that way for quite awhile.
Great review of a great inexpensive Bowie knife! I have the Szco Black Tech Bowie, which is the same as this knife, but with the 420HC blade treated with a black finish.
Once you put grip tape on the bottom of the handle you may not be able to take the axe head off. Same thing if it had a swell at the bottom. Remember , this is a tomahawk of sorts. Since I carry mine in my backpack I like removing the bit (axe head). I put in together when I'm about to use it. I've also removed the coating on the handle and coated it with Linseed oil. Now it doesn't slip out of the hand when using it. Great CRKT axe!
Big Al great video much love for the H&R
very nice
that is a nice one for sure
The SZCO website says this blade is stainless steel. Did they have an older 420HC version?
There is a second Bowie knife, very beautiful. How many inches wide is the blade?
That is cool
These knives are great. I've used them for many years. The handles are tough and won't break as easy as bone. The older ones are better but the new ones will get the job done just the same. They will still last you a lifetime. Keep up the good work man.
Surprised to hear it's hated. I have one and it's one of my favorites. i filed down the base of the blade to make a choil, and that, combined with the long handle, makes for a really multi-purpose large knife/small machete.

I have the exact same model and the exact same year. I inherited it from my Grandpa. He got it as a Christmas gift from his parents when he was 37 years old.
P.S. I just spent this evening sanding down the front lower part of the handle. Now mine fits into the sheath really easy, but still has enough retention to keep it from falling out. Then I just applied boiled Linseed Oil to the sanded area's and it looks great now.
Hated, not hardly. I love mine. Had to do a bit of sanding on the handle, but only so it would fit the sheath better. As for "Choking" up on the blade to do "Fine" work. I use a smaller knife. Too many "Bushcrafters" one a knife that will do it all. What idiots. I've been teaching wilderness survival and knife use since the early 80's. And this is a good knife, for what it is.
i have to run mine thru the belt every time i chop dead wood with it to get the rolls and chips out 😂 still like it tho
Any tips on keeping it from rusting if stored in the sheath? Just oil the heck out of it I'm thinking. But afraid of times I'll forget to inspect it. Thanks
I want it to patina naturally don't really wanna force one. I know that is something that helps.
dbad knives kick butt.
The sheath KICKOUT ??? I punched a hole for a Tie Down---- WORKS FINE !
I bought another old timer and the clip point blade was bent.
Whats the szco called? Cant find it anywhere
Thanks for the upload, I'll definitely think twice before ordering anything from those guys.......
Awesome video. I bought one a couple of years ago, and I am not much of a collector. Anything I buy I use. I modified the handle to fit my hand better, and I use the hell out of it on the river, in the woods and everywhere else I go. It’s TOUGH.
That looks great
You just picked up another subscriber. I love collecting knives of all makes and anything outdoors. Maybe the new one they sent will be ok.
Windlass/szco make cold steels frontier & wild west bowies.
The sad thing here is that they churn out rubbish and only up their game if its going to a high profile customer, ive bought two knives from KHH, 1 a khukri and the 2nd a custom Bowie (musso) this turned into an absolute dissaster on every level, this was about 15 yrs ago, then Donnie Bs collaboration came about and i thought maybe they had upped their game, i was going to buy Donnies musso version but started seeing reviews like this one, so needless to say i have been put off , i dont mind a 20 dollar knife but i dont want to pay 200 dollars for it, hope yours got sorted.
