    The dark figure is NOT a doctor. It is a representation of the disease (her feelings). The two other figures are her mental parts of her personality. The one at the beginning is trying to figure out if she can fight the disease/feelings and the second figure is trying to get her to fight and overcome the feelings. When the dark figure throws up the black disease, it represents the first figure winning and overcoming the feelings. At the end, the disease moves on to a different person, because each person faces this situation, sometimes numerous times.

    I know I’m late to the party, but loved this reaction. My theory is that it is about fighting your inner demons or mental health, and is set in a suburban neighborhood because sometimes the most perfect usual places are where you find the most people having invisible fights within themselves, thus her torturing herself in a basement setting with the light hitting her in a dark place. That scene was two versions of herself both bound as if they are being tortured but instead trying to fight each other while the disease, which is her darkness is watching almost silently orchestrating the whole thing. The whole thing is laced with this imagery from the beginning when it almost seems like the psychiatric version of her is flirting with the darkness, to her being reborn from the darkness at the end and that version almost innocently singing to the darkness and embracing it as if accepting it until she realizes the darkness has just been herself all along. And it’s always easier if you never see yourself as the monster, so she keeps running until she’s trapped. That’s my take away anyways. But loved your reaction 😊

      @aevum_o 19 днів тому

      Love your comment! That’s a really interesting and insightful take to be honest. Didn’t think that the suburban neighborhood could potentially mean something. It makes you feel like every single detail in that video must’ve been thought about, which blows my mind. Thanks again for sharing 🙏

    A lot of things and stories and lore moved, changed, evolved, added over 14 years, and the girls growing up, and for this particular show, 11 years ago, the year they started to go viral in the west. Even all the different 45 minutes to an hour fan guides or documentaries on them only scratch the surface of all those years, and before.

    Nice reaction. Babymetal has learned their music history. Hitting the gong at the end of a show is a very old rock thing to do. Babymetal like to do tributes during their shows. Getting tired at the end was a tribute in a way to another group X Japan. Who famously would play until they got tired. During the song Death you'll see some more tributes Babymetal have done. This song is a lot of fun live. Babymetal are on tour now in the USA. Also, they have a movie concert coming out in theaters in the USA in December. Check your local listings. The foxhole is deep and full of surprises.

And that was a crazy way to close it. Now seriously, I recommend to watch a few more songs, maybe some newer ones before that... thing I mentioned before. 😎

    Welcome to the Babymetal Universe and Foxhole. A good choice introduction to Monsters ladies Babymetal if you are reacting to them for the first time. "Headbanger" Legend 1997 Apocalypse:- This concert is an epic show celebrating Babymetal Su-Metal (Suzuka Nakamoto) 16th Birthday 🎉 or Seitansai @ the Makuhari Messe. Spot the Pikachu in the middle of the crowd, you won't miss it!. After this react to "BABYMETAL DEATH" @ the same concert, you will see homage tribute to METALLICA, X JAPAN 🇯🇵 & ALICE COOPER. Not to forget "Road Of Resistance" live in Japan 🇯🇵. No two of BABYMETAL songs are the same. Headbanger (Babymetal song):- "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" (ヘドバンギャー!!, Hedobangyā!!) is a single by the Japanese heavy metal band Babymetal. Released in Japan on July 4, 2012 in promotion for the album Sakura Gakuin 2012 Nendo: My Generation, the single serves as the third single from the debut album Babymetal. It is also the band's first solo audio release to be released commercially. •Single: Babymetal. •Album: Babymetal and Sakura Gakuin 2012. •Nendo: My Generation. •Language: Japanese. •Released: July 4, 2012. •Genre: Power Metal, Heavy Metal. •Length: 14:44. •Label: Juonbu. •Songwriter: Edometal, Nakametal, Narasaki. •Producer: Kobametal. •Narametal: (arrangement). Babymetal singles chronology:- "Babymetal / Kiba of Akiba": (2012) "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!": (2012) "Ijime, Dame, Zettai": (2013) Background and release:- Unlike previous tracks released by the band, which had her vocal recorded in segments within the songs, Nakamoto had her lines recorded in a single take several times. She had been told to sing and find a story within the music. By the time she had comprehended the story behind the lyrics, she grew capable of singing the entire song naturally. When Mizuno and Kikuchi listened to her shouting "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" for the first time, they felt as if they had seen another cool side of her, surprised by the vocal power. Additionally, the single introduced the members to the whispering style of singing, with the A-side's "Kiero!" (Disappear!) and the B-side's "Uki Uki Midnight". Kobametal was inspired to Ko use it to contrast traditional death growls. "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" was announced as a single on April 27, 2012, with a release date set for July 7, 2012. The single was released in two versions: a standard edition, available via CD and digital formats, and a physical limited Hedo-ban ("Head edition"), which contains a CD and a "neck corset" (actually a cervical collar) for headbanging training.[5] Both editions of the single feature the songs "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!" and "Uki Uki ★ Midnight" (ウ・キ・ウ・キ★ミッドナイト, "Exhilarating Midnight"), along with instrumental versions (labeled as "Air Vocal ver."). The standard version contains an enhanced CD with a bonus music video of "Babymetal Death", which can only be played on a computer. The artwork of the standard edition depicts a lyric in the song, specifically when the girl is headbanging with the corset, with the crimson-colored moon in the background, as well as the band name appearing at the top. The limited edition artwork depicts a temple scripture of the "Corset of Legend" with the song title spelled out in the middle. Before the physical international release of the song, its title was written ambiguously as either "Head Bangya!!" or "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!", the latter of which is officially used in the international re-release of Babymetal and all future releases. The music video uploaded to the band's UA-cam channel initially had the former name, though it was switched to the latter in 2015; the version uploaded by Toy's Factory consistently retained the official title. Tekina Remix:- During the live performances Legend "D" Su-metal Seitansai at Akasaka Blitz on December 20, 2012, and Legend "1997" Su-metal Seitansai at Makuhari Messe on December 21, 2012, a remix titled "Night of 15 mix." was performed, containing more elements of electronic music. The former took place on Suzuka Nakamoto's actual fifteenth birthday, while the latter was the opening song for the concert. Remixed by DJ'Tekina//Something, the song was later released as part of Social Reform promotional editions of the single "Ijime, Dame, Zettai", and later appeared on DJ'Tekina//Something's remix album Kawa-EDM (2016), re-subtitled as "Tekina Remix". KamiBand:- The KamiBand are the instrumentalists (or backing band) in BABYMETAL - Each member is a "god (Kami) of music" summoned by The Fox God stage by stage. All the Kamis are male except for the Babymetal girls. The Kami Band wear corpse face paint and white robes depicting Japanese 🇯🇵 spirit. The Kami Band have their own jobs and side-projects in addition to BABYMETAL. Babymetal original Trio:- •Suzuka Nakamoto: Su-Metal (2010 - present). •Moa Kikuchi: Moametal (2010 - present). •Yui Mizuno: Yuimetal (2010 - Left Babymetal in 2018 due to undisclosed health issue). •Momoko Okazaki: Momometal (2023 - present). Current & Past Members Of Kami Band Who Perform At The "MAKUHARI MESSE":- •Leda Cygnus (Guitar, ESP BLACK CUSTOM). •Mikio Fujioka (Guitar, ESP BLACK & GREY CUSTOM) R.I.P January 2018. •Daisuke 'BOH' Bohte (Bass, ATELIER Z BETA 6, Boh'S CUSTOM 6). •Aoyama Hideki (Drums, YAMAHA Signature). Some concerts do tell a story. Legend 1997 is a masterpiece in theatrical story telling. So this concert is Nakamoto Suzuka's 16th birthday and this concert celebrates her life and sacrifice, from pop idol and transformation to metal godess. The statue behind the stage resembles three things Maria, Lady Justice (nod to Metalica) and it has Suzuka's face. The show starts with Yui and Moa brining the head-brace to the foot of the statue. Followed by an EDM version of Headbanger, as if she is a Pop Idol, with lots of dancers including badly lipsyncing to the song. There are also little intro animations in front of the songs narating the story. For the last 5 songs the Kami Band was send by the Fox God to help Suzuka (The Kami band were not playing full concerts yet, from this point on they do) in spreading the Metal message. The last three songs are called "The Trilogy of Death" by the fans. Headbanger, is the call for Suzuka to help spread the Metal message. Akatsuki (unfinished) is where Suzuka reflects on her life as she knows she will be sacrificed to become something else, tonight. Followed by Babymetal Death. I suggest you watch these last two songs after this. Babymetal Death is to me a less interesting song, it is used normally as their first song to warm up the crowd and themselves, so personally I would not bother with the studio version, but this specific life version is something special because of the theatrics. When she started Babymetal when Suzuka was around 12, and Yui and Moa 10-11, Su was already a successful pop idol, as one of the members of Karin Girls. Babymetal itself was also part of an Idol group called Sakura Gakuin (Suzuka, Yui and Moa and 9 other members between 10-15 years old). After Suzuka left Sakura Gakuin (graduated due to being 15), Babymetal became a separate entity (Yui and Moa stayed in Sakura Gakuin for 2 more years while also touring with Babymetal). This concert was Suzuka's first birthday after leaving Sakura Gakuin and leaving her Idol status behind. There is both a lot of fictional lore, and even more real life lore.

      I simply love it! People suggested me the two last songs of the show as well so I might check it out, because I’m really intrigued especially since I “know” the lore now. I kind of like the fact the story is about quitting that “pop life” to then hop on the metal train. Thanks for the comment 🤘

      @@aevum_o small note about akatsuki (unfinished), it is a piano + vocals. Which is very rare for babymetal but this performance is very emotional. Just so you are not too surprised. There are also normal versions of akatsuki which is backed by some fast metal, even some of the melody has changed. Babymetal Death is very metal though.

    Great reaction!! Yes, Babymetal has Lore. A rather complicated one too. I consider it as deep or even deeper then Star Wars, or Lord of The Ring lore. 🤣 The extreme summary of it; Babymetal were summoned by the Fox God (their fictional god of metal) to fight in the Metal Resistance, and save metal music, in a world where any music other than "pop" music were considered wrong or bad. That storyline though has ended in 2021 on their 10th anniversary, and Babymetal were then sealed away from the world (they went on a hiatus until 2023). In 2023, they were summoned again by the Fox God to explore the newly discovered Metalverse (metal multiverse). Mosh pit and circle pits usually happen in specific songs. Headbanger is a more interactive song where the crowd is expected to return the chants. It's usually played near the end of the show but never the finale. Suggestion of song with circle pit in mind would be: Babymetal - "Road of Resistance" Live in Japan (from Babymetal official channel). It is usually the fan favourite performance of it. (The guitar part of this song was written by the guitarist of Dragonforce.) This is usually the finale song. Anyway, keep diving into the Foxhole! (Babymetal version of the rabbithole) Enjoy!!! 🦊🦊🦊

    Great reaction! And very insightful, too! Ganimal83 and Grington300 (and many others) gave you a lot of information about the "Legend" concerts already, so I don´t repeat them. This performance was my introduction to BABYMETAL. A student of mine showed it to me in 2016 (2 weeks before they performed in Cologne, Germany. I live nearby... well, sold out already, months before 😔) I fell into the Foxhole after 1.5 Minutes, and I don´t regret anything😉 Such a great performance, at such young age! I finally saw them live last year, in Cologne, Germany, and it was phenomenal! They played "Headbangeeeeerrrrr!!!!!!", of course! 😄 Sadly, they don´t use the gong (nor the fog guns) anymore, I loved to think "it ain´t over ´til the skinny girl hits the gong!"🤣 Anyhow, their performances are still off the scale regarding crowd energy. Their US tour this year is sheer madness, too. The interactions between them and their crowds... priceless! If they cross your way some day, get a ticket to see them live!

    It's Hedoban, Hedoban, Hedoban, Hedoban. 🙂 (which means to headbang). As a Babymetal fan, when I go see Babymetal live, I never worry about Babymetal being at their best (they always give their all, hugely professional, extremely trained even when they were kids, etc.) I worry the crowd isn't gonna participate enough. Do Babymetal justice if you will. This song has so much crowd interaction, no time for a pit. LOL In some sense Babymetal is a live act, kind of like a musical and the music is almost like the vehicle for the delivery. Saying it's the background music to their show is to strong, but the album is not the center of attention, it's the live performance.

    Great reaction. That was very insightful of you to think their concerts might have a story line. Their 'Legend' shows (especially the early ones - Legends I, D and Z, Legend 1999, Legend 1997 and others) most certainly did have their own story lines which progressed the BABYMETAL lore. The more recent 'Legend' shows still do that, but possibly it is even more tongue in cheek than the earliest ones. Basiclaly it is all good fun and it makes their concerts more than just watching a band play their songs and more like a well crafted theatrical performance and an experience for the audience. GAnimal83 already did a great job explaining the Legend 1997 storyline (and if you can find the whole concert to watch at some point you really will enjoy it). In the meantime I would suggest watching the opening ceremony (a theatrical piece set to Schubert's 'Ave Maria' followed by an obviously and deliberately lipsynced dance remix of 'Headbanger, Night of 15 Remix'). Also the two songs which followed this version of 'Headbanger' that you just watched - 'Akatsuki - unfinished version' and 'BABYMETAL DEATH' live at Legend 1997. BABYMETAL's songs are written for live performances and with the crowd interaction taken fully into account - the choreo is designed for that interaction, to give the crowd their cues when to jump, chant, pump their fists, headbang, form walls of death or whatever. Again you were absolutely right, the crowd plays a huge part in the performance. They have many walls of death and circle pits - but what happens or what is appropriate for each song may differ. 'Headbanger' is a song more for jumping and singing along (and in some performances you will see the whole crowd on their knees bowing to the girls in a "dogeza" bow (I think I got that right) where their foreheads touch the ground). This performance - yes give a couple of 14 year old girls smoke cannons to play with, you just know they're going to have fun!🦊🤘🦊

      @@aevum_o Their live concerts are on another level. When I go to see any other band I'm hoping that the band will be on form and will put on a great show. When I go to see BABYMETAL that is never a concern, I know that will be the case. They never give less than 100% quality, energy and effort for every song in every concert - my concern before the show is that the crowd won't meet BABYMETAL's standards.

    Awesome reaction! And if you can’t get “Vando Pan” out of your head, I can help: _Hit the bong!! Hit the bong!! Hit the bong!! Bong! Bong! Ba-Bong!!!_ 😂 In earlier shows, Babymetal definitely incorporated a story arc much more. This show was Dec 2013, and Babymetal just became independent from their original parent Idol Group. *The story from “Legend 1997”:* The Fox God, god of metal, summoned Babymetal to fight the “Big Bad Idol Industry”, which has oppressed Metal music. To do this, Babymetal infiltrates the Idol Industry, to fuse J-Pop with Metal to “destroy it from the inside”. This show represents Babymetal, and more specifically, Su-metal’s transition from J-Pop Idol to Metal, and serves as her “Sweet 16th Special” concert. First 9 songs of 14 are played to a backing track with a fake band in skeleton costumes (“Baby Bones”). Starting with an EDM and fully lip sync’ed version of Headbanger. The setlist starts poppy and gets heavier as the show continues. Culminating in a 5-song encore with the real band, the Kami Band. They are the “Spirits/Gods” (Kamis) of guitar, bass, and drums summoned by The Fox God to assist Babymetal’s mission. This performance, shows Su-metal “succumbing” to the epic fight to “save” metal. The next song is a sad ballad version of “Akatsuki” (Unfinished Version), followed by the their most brutally heavy “BABYMETAL DEATH” as a closer, marking the “death” of Su-metal’s mortal / idol self, and her ascension to a Metal Goddess. Want to see some pits? Maybe a good’ol wall of death? *Road of Resistance (Official Live):* Babymetal, but Dragonforce style. Herman Li and Sam Totman played the guitars for the studio version too! 🤘🦊
