What kind of work you do?

I opened my account on upwork, It's been one month now, they didn't give me any connect

I 100% understand your attitude when you're young. But it's not so much $35K vs. $100K now, it's that you can take that extra $65K and put it away and in 15 years you can retire at 40 with all the savings. Plus as I get older, I need things like health insurance more than I did when I was your age.

Is ageism or ghosting something a person has to worry about with Upwork? I was part of a round of layoffs and when I was applying for full time jobs, my unemployment coach told me to take all my credentials off my resume otherwise it shows how old I am and people would think I've over qualified and I'd never get an interview. Is that similar in the freelancing world?

No I'm not a scammer comment, don't block me Hey man I have to tell you how much I agree with you on this. It's really an addiction. I make about 20k a month from twitter! Yes lol just twitter. I'm posting like crazy though. I live in Thailand which is like being the top top 1% of earners. Yeah it's the addiction to making a lot of money and not just money, It's feeling of making more than other people. Yes maybe it's kinda toxic to feel like this but that's how I feel because I was pretty much at the bottom of my class in highschool and now I'm proud to say that I make more than the entire class combined. Plus the fact that I dropped out of college to spend more time on my business makes the reward even more satisfying. My asian parents were on fire when I told them I dropped out but now I'm the one supporting them financially other than my engineer brother who is still struggling to live month to month. It really changes your mindset and the way you look at money. I also think it's different in many levels you think a certain way when you're a sub 10k a month guy than when you're 1mil a month guy. like, I would rather be a 1mil a month guy and lose everything and have to start over, it would probably be easier to make it all back than starting at the 10k a month mindset. I think.

They have also introduced a fixed 5$ fee when the contract is initiated. So if a contract is only worth 5$ Upwork will charge 5$ and 10% service fee which will be 0.5$ + 5$ (contract). So now you will be paying upwork additional $0.5 for working on the job and successfully completing it. Mind Blowing

What people must understand is this..none of us asked to be born. None of us asked to be brought to this capitalistic world we live in. We are just born and then we must somehow figure life out. Navigate around , finding true happiness, finding ourselves, figuring out our purpose, who we fit in with & who we don't fit in with. Who likes us, who doesnt like us, paying bills, paying taxes, stressing, raising children, working at a dead end job ( and if you aren't working a dead end job, figuring a way to escape the rat race ) .dealing with emotional rollercoasters. This is another reason why as a 40 year old man, I chose not to bring any kids into this world. ** Also, a lot of us hate the jobs we workd but cannot figure out a way out. Or at leas, a skill, or passion that will make us money to the point where we can just quit our jobs. For those who have quote on quote ( cracked the code ) and figure out a way to escape the 9-5 lifestyle. Respect **
