Interesting video, did they fix the issues with Mac M1 computer?

Just stumbled onto your channel - great stuff. I have been trying to use the Continuity camera function using my IPhone 11. When it is working it’s great, but it keeps crashing! Not a good look in the middle of a ZOOM class. Some times it freezes, other times it just stops working. Any ideas? thanks again

Jacob, good info! Quick question; do you need headphones with that microphone? In other words, does the audio from the laptop/tablet speakers cause a reverb effect if headphones/earbuds are not used?

What makes these "small" 38" monitors so special? As I checked them here they cost around 1000$ and for this high price you already get good 49" Ultrawide screens.

The extra lines of resolution will just put further stress on my system which is why we're going down from 4k and would defeat the purpose of that so we actually ended up going with View Sonic VP3481a Color Pro Monitor which had the best of both worlds. Color Calibrated from the factory with 100% sRGB and 100%Rec 709 which we needed for graphic design and tutorial videos. Plus it has 90 watt usb - c and hub. FreeSync Premium with 100hz for silky smooth desktop use. And its less than $600. Which is hard to find for a Color Calibrated monitor that's also 34inches that doesn't skimp out on anything.

One is clearly strictly common ultra wide and the other is more of and extra Ultra wide on the height. Just shy under 4k. He did mention he preferred 1600P anyway.

Thanks so much for this review! I wonder if you'd also consider the LG 40BP95C-W (5k monitor) if it exist during your time. I've narrowed down to the U3824 which is the newer version of the one you have, and the the above LG 5k monitor. I have a macbook pro M1 and I'm using mainly for productivity. What do you think of a 5k monitor. I heard MBP has a scaling issue.

thank you for clearly laying down why 38" makes more sense than 34". I have used a 34 and still don't find it sufficient. 38 should be the one for me!

Had OWC for two years, not a power user. Used for music studio, USB 2 audio interface, monitor. MIDI peripherals etc. The USB 3.2 used as main audio connection has just packed in. OWC support say it's hardware. No repair service in the UK and just out of warranty. Really disappointing at this price. Customer support were great but can't do a thing or advise where to take it to have what I'm guessing will be an expensive fix. Avoid.

Do you have any problems with syncing audio with video? Is there anything to watch out for to avoid that? Many new cameras are designed with web streaming in mind. Do those devices still need the Elgato to present it to Zoom in the correct way? I'm also wondering about bandwidth, given that most zoom conferences are done at very low resolution. Does the zoom server compress video sent to it, effectively reducing the power of a top quality system?

doesn't Sony have direct usb webcam video out? that would seem like the obvious thing for manufacturers to do. I think Canon has that to some extent. Also audio could be part of it and should. Ridiculous that a microphone has a separate amplifier. Such pretentious audiophoolery. Audio is just not a challenge with today's tech, just so many doing it wrong.

I have a question: My daughter bought a Reddragon/Mic with USB connector and installed zoom on desktop computer and tested successfully. However, when requested a zoom meeting with Oakland Commuity College for school work, I had pictures of OCC Consulator, but, no audibles. What could my problem? I have no problem watch your UA-cam presentations.

Only thing I mind si the huge power brick it comes with. That really defeats the purpose of portability. It would have been a lot better to use a usb c charger instead.

I love the review! I love how you included your simple opinions over dual monitors and ultrawide, why go for ultrawide vs 4k, what's the recommended monitor size if you should opt for 4k or ultrawide monitors. It really helps potential buyers like me to decide which one is really for me based on preference and use. I've been using dual monitors for almost 9 yrs now since that has always been our company work setup. I'm not sure if using ultrawide monitors is equally flexible when it comes to multitasking, but it's aesthetically pleasing aside from the fact that it's trending nowadays. I would also like to improve my video editing skills to change work industry since the skill is more marketable nowadays. But maybe 34 inch is enough size for me since I am not used to rotating my monitor anyway, I'm not used to moving my head up and down if the distance between the browser and task manager is too far.

If you were using these drives directly in the machine instead of externally, would you expect to get even higher speeds? Thinking of replacing my 128gb drive in my 2015 MacBook Air. 128gb certainly doesn’t cut it anymore!!

I have an M1 Mac Mini (running MacOS Ventura 13.0.1) connected to an old Acer monitor. It has no webcam as yet. I also have a 2022-vintage iPhone SE (running iOS 16.3). Is there a way for me to use Continuity Camera with this setup? How do I get it to work, and what do I use to mount the SE / camera?

Will I be able to use the HDMI/display port with an M1 IPad Pro without downloading the displaylink software? Their website has a link to the download, but there is no version for iPadOS (it’s only available for MacOS, etc.)
