2012 f250 turbo replaced a year ago, sounds like a loud siren when engine is cold. Quits when it warms up.
Sounds like exhaust manifold leak. When it warms up the gasket closes
You guys have been good to me. Im glad i got to do business with you guys in 2019 before all hell broke lose in the state's. My lml has done great until the head gasket problem. Luckily i have my own 2 post lift😂
What cummins is better for Daily driving 5.9 cummins or 6.7 cummins
My question is why do OEMs tune this bad, there must be a reason? I would think with the tune adding performance and reliability the manufacturer would update unless there were negative side effects?
i actually found a 2012 ford f350 crew cab long bed dually with 146.7k miles on it, it looks solid ngl, the dealership guy showed me a video of the engine running and i hear no ticking or clacking sounds. Are the '12s engines a solid choice? i hear they usually have turbocharger issues, including egr dfm etc issues, and i wanna try and delete them, would it be a good idea to get them?? if someone can help me out id appreciate it :)
The bottom ends on the 12's are solid, it was only really the 11's that had the bottom end issues. The turbos are still the weak point but replacements aren't too expensive if you want to replace it down the line!
The banks monster ram was the first thing I bought for my truck I can’t believe that ram still uses that same grid heater.
Looking at a 01 with 300k miles extremely clean looking new fuel injectors new trans under warranty till February new head gaskets arp head studs bunch of other stuff he’s a family man I trust him wants 10k should I do it??
you can get 150,000 miles for 20,000 that looks brand new and drives brand new

The BD diesel deep pan is a solid unit!
If you are in the market to replace your turbo please take this advice don’t waste your money on a cheetah vgt I have one and I haven’t had any problems with it until recently the turbo was 3k and a pain in the ass to put in I wish I had 2nd gen swapped it with a steed speed manifold and a s467.7 and done away with the vgt actuator and put a pac brake on for the brake now I’m just past the warranty and I am having to put a new actuator on from city diesel another 1k bucks you would think for 3k it would come with a heavy duty actuator but it doesn’t I haven’t been really impressed with the power either I always thought they were the hottest thing out now it’s a great turbo for towing heavy in the mountains but if you are planning to go with larger injectors and a pump then you are going to be limited to what you can do fleece is a great company and they are very helpful but I was under the impression that this cheetah was the long term solution and I ran the exhaust brake continuously and the other day I lost all boost and threw a code vgt actuator you have been warned

It'll retain a factory-style exhaust brake if you go with a VGT turbo, but if you go with a non-vgt you'd have to get an aftermarket unit built into the exhaust. Cheers

Get the coolant up to operating temp (at least 190-195) then check your deltas running 60-65 down the road on level ground unloaded. Anything over 15 degree difference will show that the oil cooler is having problems.

Can you swap out the CP4 for an S&S DCR pump on an LML?
On these trucks you do a CP3 conversion to get rid of the CP4 instead of the DCR. Cheers
Is it worth checking for new updated tunes? My trucks been tuned since 2020.
I'm about to pull the trigger on a 2011 F350 Lariat with only 66k miles. The truck is in mint condition inside and out except for some surface rust in spots on the undercarriage. The driver's seat doesn't even have ass prints in it yet. That said, I have some concerns now after watching this video. I'm always suspicious of first year body style changes and this video confirmed my suspicions.
Owed to. Flat bed Work rigs for sure. One auto 03 and one stick 04. My 04 is currently at 264K miles no issues and they both tow and haul a lot on daily basis. My father had an 07 now that one had a lot of issues, turbo no spinning, random light switches flickering or not even working if you moved the AC. So on and that one he got with only 120K
Had it for 3 years now the 04 and I will say the Manuel is very forgiving it was the first one I learned on, my sibling learned on and is currently my daily

We haven't test fitted it on 3rd gens yet, it should fit on them no problem but we have only confirmed it on the 4th and 5th so far.
I recently bought a LML Duramax with an Ez Link Auto Agent 2. I am new and unfamiliar when it comes to tuning. I know the truck is tuned with sport/economy. I would like to Install a SOTF switch to I can shift between tunes...mostly will be using it for everyday driving or towing. I can find DSP5 switches for my duramax but do I need a specific one for Ez Link? Also, is it possible to switch technicians? The shop or company that came with it isn't one I've heard of and would like to switch to one that more people I see using if possible. Just looking for information before I started messing around with the different tunes, so any information would be great, thanks.
Yea there are switches that work with the EZ-Lynk we have them on our website, and we can give you a new tuning setup that utilizes the EZ-Lynk that you already have. If you go on our website Dirtydieselcustoms.com you can go to tune files instead of tuners and you can keep your device.
Would not recommend using one side as template for the other, i did it that way and it was off.
How does it typically take to receive your modified tunes from a tuner?
Usually within a few hours unless it's a weekend or past 5pm
I am looking for a transmission tune. I have a 2016 Ram 2500 and just installed a REVMAX Billet Valve body and new Solenoid this past weekend. The shifting got a little better with the valve body replacement but still has some flare. What tune would you suggest. Tow around 10K lbs once a month.
We've got tunes specifically for Revmax valve body's. It runs increased line pressure to maximize the valve body and then it still gives you the options for stock, standard or raised shift points. Whichever you'd like best!
Just bought a 2011 F450. EGR & DPF deleted. It's tuned. But I don't know what the tune is. It shifts hard. I want a new tune that just makes everything stock. What would you recommend? I've heard the minimax is awul, but I kinda like how it fits in the ac vent. Thanks for any help!!
To just get something on the truck the truck and fix the shifting an SCT X4 is a good unit, we stock them and they usually ship out same day. The mini max is a decent tuner too, it's not one we carry so I can't say too much about it either way. We have a few different options for that truck over on our website if you want to take a look that can hopefully clean up the shifting!

Would 3rd gear lock up on a stock transmission break the input shaft? I’ve seen some people online say it could. I just deleted my truck with tunes from the diesel dudes and everything is great except when I give it some heavy throttle I get some shift flare. Got about 500 miles on the truck after the relearn. Does not shift flare under normal driving just when I’m heavy on the throttle.
We have seen 3rd gear lockups cause input shaft issues which is why our standard tuning uses a 4th gear instead of 3rd. Some people choose to risk it but if you're worried I'd go with a 4th gear lockup tune.
