In my 30+ years OTR my nightmare that I still see was a deadly crash I was in; going across AL towards FT Payne is a nice run, was running with 4 other truckers, we passed a cop and he gave an all clear via the cb. Along the way you can see up the cuts/roads of the ridges and dusk/night you can see the headlights. A woman driving down a road and I could see her headlights, after a time you can learn to judge speed and she was moving, looking a head I could see her path was going to meet mine very quickly. I moved into the left lane tried to make the speed up or slow down call. I was pulling a heavy load of 48k lbs permitted in the trailer; so speeding up was gonna be hard on flat ground and this was on a, upward incline. So I tried to slow enough so she would pass in front of me; she did not do so. She impacted right behind my landing gear, knocking my tandems out from under the trailer, this dropped the trailer on her car, flattening a slice of it. The result the front end and driver area was flattened; part of the woman was on the ground. The back half of the car was intact and ty lord for that because there was a 3 year old girl in a car seat, had scratches but that was it; a trucker I was running with called out to the cop and he came back in a hurry. That took 2 cranes and a bunch of crap to get the tandems back under the trailer; because of the damage; swapping the load trailer to trailer was not an option.

When I am dropping that close to the terminal, they normally let me drop in the morning and bring back empty.

Stay out of the terminal loaded, unless you have time for trailer to need the shop. If you goto to terminal and they flag the trailer, contact dispatch immediately to cover yourself if it prevents delivery on time.

Dam bro I am glade that didn't happen to my trainer and I when we went to the salt Lake terminal we were on a high value load and they had to work on our tailer as well I think no matter what you would have been all good cause it was not your fault. And man ca.t wait to see that light at the end of the tunnel like you told me tnt is for sure not for the week.

Avoid taking breaks in terminals whenever possible. Only visit if absolutely necessary. And I still can't believe you dropped off the truck at the shop while carrying a load! Never do that. Always request a repower before handing over the truck. When you forgot to send arrival, why going back to truck , use your cellphone prime app, or best thing is don't send macro and send a message to dispatch telling what time you arrived and they can enter the correct time You were supposed to get the chain the day you got your first load at Prime after TNT lol...driving without that is a DOT violation

I had one service failure it was when I first started I’ll never forget that place it was a gargill palling pa. I was 30mins away it took me 50 mins. I didn’t know about that two lane road I was stuck behind this dump truck it was mountains. I was like omg whyyyyyyyy. I been at prime 3 yrs. I have not been back to that Cargill since then 😂😂
