Is I possible to make a 3D printed stamp that works??
Many of use are interested in 3d printing and are currious of what it can do for us in our various hobbies, whether it be models, tools, reenacting, larping, DIY, and so on. 3d printing allows us to make small and fine details... which is why I think there is a chance this will work!

Sad just sad
Lol... yes, I couldn't believe I left and forgot to unplug it!
I have this one and the puller, the BD70 for nails head that stick out but not the tip
I just googled that nail puller... I'm wondering if it's easier or harder to use... guess if you could get the nail head up enough it might require less disassembly of wooden item to get the nails out. Thanks for sharing! I wasn't aware of that type of pneumatic nail puller
The immediate issue I see is placing the air conditioner on a vinyl window altogther. Warpage or separation of the window frame can occur from the weight of AC unit. Vinyl windows are simply not made to carry that weight. That becomes a severe issue if there is a cavity between the bottom frame of the vinyl window and the wooden sill it is sitting. The best advice I can offer is to build a wooden cradle that will be supported by the inside and outside sils. The AC unit sits on top of the cradle and damaging the window frame becomes a non-issue. In making the cradle it should be angled 4 to 5 degrees downward towards the outside for water run off.
Thanks for the idea!
i dislike the video for that
Awesome to see folks taking the iniative to fix their gear! Its a shame that tabbed cr2450s are a bit harder to find than other sizes (outside of the 2450hr that are more expensive because of their heat rating). One thing that may save you hassle in the future is soldering a 2045 holder to the board instead of those leads. Itll let you swap out the battery quickly in the future. Great video, thanks!
I like that idea! Do you know if they make a low profile battery holder? Inside the plastic body there's maybe 3/16 of an inch of space... I don't think the battery holders I have seen would fit... though could possibly make a custom battery holder in the future.
@@wamindustriesOoh, that's definitely a tight fit. Probably not going to find one that low profile unfortunately, but you never know!
@briancernic makes sense... thanks for the idea!
You can make rounded big stamp, not a flat surface: =[)
Hmm... not quite sure what you mean by a rounded stamp... could you explain it more?
@@wamindustries I made a picture of it: =[) 😊 That types of stamp "printing" like a wheel - from one side to another by rolling on the paper
agree -important to repair vs buy new
It's enjoyable and rewarding!!
It's a pity you didn't solder the battery. For something to happen you would have to overheat the batteries a lot
Oh... thanks for that feedback!! I probably should have still given it a try. So the people experiencing the exploding batteries must have been leaving their iron on the battery for an extended period???
@@wamindustriesSoldering the wire to the battery may heat it up. if the batteries have welded legs that you solder to, then the risk is negligible. Sorry, I didn't notice, the old battery has legs and the new one doesn't. I was watching in the background while doing other things. Good thing you didn't solder.😊
@snik2pl thanks for the clarification... hey I watch UA-cam often the same way... doing something at the same time so I totally understand
What a joke
Lit
What year was the drill mfg
Hmm... I'm not sure. We have had it for around 6 or more years. I didn't see a date on it. I'm actually in my shop cleaning it again
If your bandsaw is uglier than a table saw then you may want to figure that out...
Lol
Would be great for the down and dirty board and baton I want to do on my barn
That sounds like an interesting project!!!
What a load of padding. 16 mins of video, and maybe 4 mins of info
Shakin like bacon my boi be careful
?
Drill press a basic tool?
More basic than a mill you can get one for cheap used and throw it on a workbench
Lol... My thoughts as well! Still, A hand drill could be used instead... Though that would be harder.
Lol... Basic turns out to be a relative term I guess. Anyways, a hand drill could be used instead of a drill press though that would take more work.
I can’t believe he thought of that. That looks like an easier way to cut metal at home.
Wow, that was so interesting. Thanks for the information.
Hey, thanks for the feedback and encouragement!
Is it possible to water it down if you need to fill a small warp. I need a flat surface
Hmm... I haven't tried that. I would guess in theory it would work if you're using shavings that were fine enough (probably best to build up the surface and then sand it down to the right thickness), though depending on your surface it may be better just to hand plane it to flatten it and then feather it in with the planer or sandpaper. If you're painting the surface, I have sometimes used a harder plaster. I would only use a thin layer though... keep it thin. Hope this helps!
You need a better background and a lot more confidence in your presentation. Probably dress up a bit more into the tactical setting. Hope you do well 😊
Thanks for the encouragement and feedback
Yeah cuz I can't fix that at all
I know! The worst part is all the unknowns with it. At least from what I know of it, it's a little hard to measure and determine what would be necessary in order to bring it to original strength/safety factor.
@@wamindustries wow order what hahaha I build that shit
Since it's been a few years, if you remove the white fan shroud that's attached to the condenser coil (the outside coil that gets hot), there's a decent chance you'll find dirt plastered against the inside of that coil. If enough air can't be forced through those little fins, proper heat exchange can't happen. That's what kills your efficiency and shortens the lifespan of your compressor. (Imagine how poorly a vehicle's engine would cool if the radiator was covered in dirt.) You can spray off the condenser coil to get all that junk out. Just don't use anything like a pressure washer or you could destroy the coil fins. There are all kinds of coil cleaners on the market; up to you if you want to go that route. On the other hand, the evaporator coil looked great! That's a really cool intro, by the way. Reminded me a bit of the intro for Home Improvement. Take care, man!
@Sisyphean1775 thanks for the tip!!! I'll have to give it a try!!
Die grind the weld, punch it out, then make chamfered plugs, weld in properly with full work preheat and slow cooling with a torch. Use a drill press, mill, or lathe to bore plugs back to factory size. Tada, re activated gun for about 4 hours with proper machine shop or 10-15 at home. 4 hours of shop labor about $300-400.
At one point I had thought of trying something like that. I even have a metal lathe of my own and a drill press so those operations are feasible. The only part that concerns me is the heat treat and messing with the metallurgy. The other unknown is how much of the original strength is lost due to the hole and the repair. I am thinking however of changing the caliber to a lower pressure round and maybe doing a repair that way (maybe 9mm). We'll see how things go.
@@wamindustries losing the heat treat shouldnt end in catastrophic failure maybe a crack heavy wear in a couple thousand rounds. One way to fix this is make an additional cover/band that wraps around the chamber completely. You could also add a very light heat treat just make sure you actively cool the barrel so it keeps it. If you do re activate it you should post it (not in UA-cam but one of the alternatives)
Leave it to the government to find the most expensive way to do something. Let's destroy a rifle to use for training instead of just removing the firing pin or something, And render this tax payer supplied gun useless.
So true! It looked like this particular piece was right from the factory when this process happened... Sad to see such perfect rifling wasted!!
🥱
Lol
You bought a piece of junk welding helmet. Spend the money on a quality piece of equipment to protect your eyes. You only get one pair of eyes.
Quick follow up question... So back when I purchased it I was looking for something rated with a csa z94.3 and din setting of 13, adjustable speed, darkness... What other factors should one consider? Thanks!
@@wamindustriesHey! Professional welder here by trade. Those cheap welding helmets are good for hobbies, but theyre not always the best for the long term. Some people dont like to spend a lot, but ive used a lot of helmets so i can give you a few pointers. always check optical clarity rating. 1/1/1/1 is the best, but most helmets you find will usually be around 1/1/1/2 the last digit is how much the lens varies in shade throughout angles so some helmets will vary in darkness across the lens and you wanna avoid that. Obviously you dont need the best of the best unless its your career or a serious hobby. However, look for helmets have replaceable batteries, fit well with good headgear, and are a color and clarity that you are happy with. I dont know what color lens that hood has in it but ive always likes blue lenses the best, and the more you spend the more you get. Hope this helps 😁
@@Nakadori.qcow2thanks for the info from your experience! I'm actually surprised to see the specs for this welding mask line up pretty well with what you listed. It does have the 1/1/1/1! So it's probably great for a hobbyist like me. I don't regularly use it too much.
@@wamindustries When i was a hobbyist i used to use a $70 eastwood welding helmet, i believe it was the L6700. Now that i do it professionally, ive tried everything, from lincoln, miller, jackson, esab, speedglas, optrel, etc. My all time favorite is my Optrel Panoramaxx CLT. That helmet is my personal personal baby and the clearest and nicest helmet ive ever used, its gonna run you some hefty cash though, when i bought it it was $705.
@@Nakadori.qcow2at that price I would hope it is good! Sounds like a nice welding mask. Thanks for all the info
Do you know if the solvent would damage synthetic fabrics? (nylon, polyester etc)
Best way is to test on a scrap piece of the material. One way I have dealt with that myself is to Google the specific fiber and see if mineral spirits damages it.
That’s so cool, you’re building your own tent.
Thanks it's a good project
Do you have a full tutorial?
I have a part one up on my channel... I am very close to finishing the tent and then I'll put up a part 2 for the full video. The next part of the tent project is once again weather dependent.
Wow, way to go on the progress! What a cute dog! !
Thanks, he sure is!
I don't know if you'll see this, but I have a question: so I know that using oil to waterproof things increases the risk of fire. Does silicone have that problem?
It would have an issue until the mineral spirits gasses off that was used as a carrier for the silicone. After that I would say (not an expert in this) that it wouldn't be any more flammable than regular canvas. I believe silicone in of itself to be flame resistant... Though I don't think this reduces the chance of the canvas catching fire... Hope this helps! I have reached these opinions from talk to people and general info on silicone.
Do you have any videos on how the grenade MOLD itself was made? Thanks 👍👍
Unfortunately I didn't film that process. I started with a MK2 grenade 3d design and basically made a negative of it in tinkercad then adding the various other features like the tabs for alignment and the spouts for the foam injection and expansion. Hopefully that description helps a little bit!
@@wamindustries It does, thank you so much! 😃😃🙏🙏
Any idea how long a canvas like this would last thru 4 seasons of weather??
I'm not sure... It depends really on how you take care of it... I cut it's life short when I got bleach on it. I would expect it to last longer than many of the wax related waterproofing options or the waterproofing in the standard options at most box stores
@wamindustries thank you. Looking at alternative ways to cover a shelterlogic & came across this technique. Either way helpful to know for camping purposes!
While having individual legs for the sides does work, I have had more success with a rigid pole for the two walls.
Thanks for the tip! I may give that a try in a future project. I think I've seen someone do something like what your describing.
Stop being anxious! Add a ros and you’ll finally be able to use up your remnant spools with no stress
Hmm... That might be interesting for me to look into
Nah K1C does swap easily
😁... That would be nice
And then somehow it has a slight layer shift once you start it again 🤦♂️
So true!!! Wow... This print finished with only a inch of filament left... No swap this time.
I love that nail remover gun and the palm nailer.
After 5 years still awesome video thank you
Thanks!!!
What’s the size of the tarp there? I’ll be sticking around to keep an eye out. Thinkin of doin the same thing.
I believe it's a 12 x 16 canvas... Reality it's over 6 inches smaller each way with the seams and grommets. Weather hasn't been favorable to me working on the tent outside so I'm having to wait until I get some time with clear weather.
Silicon spray or that spray they use on injection moulding dyes
I bet that silicone spray would work well!
how many milliliter of mineral spirit for 1 tube of silicon caulk?
That's a really good question, unfortunately I do not know the answer. I just did it in small batches until the project was done. Doing a large batch would probably make things easier and faster.
That’s actually a good idea
Thanks! I used them for a whole season. I am actually going to be installing them again for the next season soon.
Why wouldn't you want to use a tablesaw for something like this?
I personally prefer a bandsaw over many other power saw options. Table saws are usually people's go to options for this type of application as it creates more of a finished edge... Also harder to get a straight cut, but the clamp guide as a rip fence works to solve this issue.
Just make your mix and completely soak it in a bin... what your doing is a retarded waste of time soy boy
Dude this is probably, to me, the hack of the year. Makes sense. And simple.
Thanks!!! I thought the same when my Grandfather taught me this hack.
love that you're using what you have
Thanks! It's great having options for solving problems!
put a layer of liquid latex it makes worked for me
Hmm... I'll have to look into that!
I have also used a left handed drill bit. However, I still haven't solved the broken tap phenomenon
That's a good option... Haven't yet come up with a solution for that one either.
Don't feed your wood from the wrong direction. Yep. Looks right.
Ya..... don't run your router backwards kids....
😜🤣😂😂
