It was in 2010-2011 when the plague hit WoW. I was playing then. Logged on saw everyone was dying. Ran for the hills. Was killed by the plague in the hills. Nowhere was safe. I did not survive the WoW plague. No one did...

I came to this video because Tom came up in my mind lately, he is part of a significant memory of my childhood years, I was around 10 years old ( I am now 30. ) and I was into flash animation after discovering Newgrounds, it was the pinnacle of cool for me back then, the democratization of digital art and animation already spoke to me at that age, the DIY aspect of it all was so inspiring... Well, back to that memory I was talking about, I used to make stick figure skateboarding animations and made one myself, I looked up to that niche scene of skateboarding flash animations, and it had its own page in the Newgrounds archives, I was so proud of my silly little animation that was barely noteworthy, but I asked Tom through the NG message system if it was possible to put my video into the collection, I remember being so anxious that he would entirely ignore it or mock it, but after a few days I checked that archive and I remember almost crying when I noticed that he did indeed put it in that archive standing next to all those videos I looked up to. Thank you so much, Tom, you are a wonderful person.

I wonder how much more we know about all of this.

BAD NEWS: Crossplay is ruled out of the plans as it's very hard to do & it requires a huge investment. Apparently, it would require a huge backend rearchitecture. Also, consoles have smaller caves compared with steam, so Steam players will have to play a downgraded version if they want crossplay. I'm on Steam & I still want to play with my friends. IMHO they should implement it BUT leave crossplay OFF by default & leave steam matchmaking untouched, BUT for those of us that want to play with our friends across platforms, let us turn crossplay on & go through the extra steps required, like sending an invite code, etc. Just put up a sign "IF YOU ENABLE CROSSPLAY IN STEAM, CAVES WILL BE SMALLER. YOU CAN TURN OFF CROSSPLAY WHENEVER YOU WANT. ". It would be awesome, it gets the point across, & it lets people play with their friends from Steam & PC. Maybe the game files will double. But it's currently 3Gb. 6GB would be nothing for that possibility. And I'm sure a lot of mods will release to "remove crossplay for those who dont have console friends"

Just finished the trilogy again after years and it is so beautiful. Female Shepard and Liara! And this is heaven to watch. Thank you!!!!!!! Beautiful characters, voice actors, and story.

I can't say I've followed Nintendo a whole lot post-Gamecube generation. What's happened since that's got people so disappointed? Have things gotten any better in 2024? I can at least say I'm happy about their stance on not using AI and continuing to rely on human talent for making their games.

Without Reggie and Iwata Nintendo's humanity is starting to fade away, full corpo is taking over and will be like this for a while, I personally do not support them anymore the amount of sins they have committed against the gaming community are too many and of malicious intent.

If literally everybody who has hated on this game would watch this then at very least they'd respect the game even if they don't personally enjoy the gameplay. I love it and even they couldn't deny how wholesome and deep it is and that it's not that it DOESN'T make any sense... It's that they dont understand it because it makes too much sense once it clicks and it's not familiar to us nowadays having to work so hard to get to the center of a game's plot and meaning. Heck it's not familiar to us to have a game that even has a meaning at all. When the interviewer asked if he ever considered making it more straightforward I realized that it's just like the game where it's about the journey from A to B and not B itself that makes the meaning of the plot so enrichening. The frustration and confusion you feel when you first play it and push to get to the point where you understand atleast most of it mostly dissipates and the game cleverly dripfeeds files and such that you could easily miss and overlook but every single one I went through it started to slowly dawn on me and wow. I am so ready for 2. It's fun for me in gameplay too as i enjoy the feeling of gearing up, mapping a path, and overcoming obstacles in clever ways to maintain my packages. It can go from feeling slow when I'm just walking and listening to nature to feeling like I can't even blink. I'm biking in the rain and come across a BT area, leave the packages on my bike, sneaking through to clear out a path through them with some grenades, get on my bike and continue my journey. Just after that part though where my heart was beating so hard and I myself was holding my breath almost as I held R1 for Sam to do the same I come across a large overhang off a rock face where i park my bike under, climb off, nap, eat, drink, pee, and patch my gear/packages while I'm waiting for the rain to stop. The game does a great job of making Sam feel so real because the pacing and diffference between the quiet and heart racing moments is so well done. Eventually you welcome the quiet and peace of just walking or riding a motorcycle and I myself never once wanted the game to be anything other than what it is.

Yeah, the corporate side of Nintendo lost its soul with the departures of Iwata and Reggie.

This is a bittersweet story given that EG is no longer an organization and their legacy is related to one of the league's brightest prodigies being burned out/unable to play/retiring from the sport. Still fundamentally interesting to hear their approach to team building.
